Jigger Johnson Campground - White Mountain National Forest, Conway, New Hampshire

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $12.00
Overall Rating:

This is our second year at this campground for fall camping. We really like this campground great site privacy, location, easy back in sites and the new showers are nice. This is dry camping water is available at spigots throughout the park but no hookups. The only negative is the lack of a dump station. We stopped at several campgrounds to see if we could pay to dump but they all said that New Hampshire has told them only people staying at the campground can be allowed to dump. I have no idea if this is true but the response was consistent. We ended up bringing it to our local RV dealer when we got home. We camped at Jigger Johnson Campground - White Mountain National Forest in a Travel Trailer.

Salmon Lake State Park, Seeley Lake, Montana

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

This was an overnight enroute to Glacier NP. The campground is on beautiful Salmon Lake and has 2 small sections a few of the sites could accommodate the larger rigs but it could be tight getting in and out of most sites in my opinion. The hostess was extremely helpful with information and tips for things to do. I wish I could have stayed longer. We camped at Salmon Lake State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Congdon Creek Campground (Yukon Government), Destruction Bay, Yukon

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

We really liked this campground, it is on the ALCAN at Destruction Bay, Kluane Lake. Very large, private campsites, dry camping and inexpensive. Just a really pretty area. When traveling the ALCAN let's face it the commercial sites leave a lot to be desired. We found the Yukon Provincial Parks great for an overnight or longer stay. It is interesting that the tenting area is enclosed in a 5' high 50,000 volt electric fence. Got Bears, you better believe it. The one drawback to most of the Provincial Parks in the Yukon and BC is no dump stations. We camped at Congdon Creek Campground (Yukon Government) in a Travel Trailer.

Schoodic Woods Campground, Winter Harbor, Maine

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

This is the second season for Schoodic Woods Campground the campground is extremely well laid out with wide oversized sights and considerable privacy. A loop is for tents and small RV's all A loop sites have 15/30/50 amp service. A loop also has hike in sites without electricity and fire pits. B loop is mostly pull through large sites with electric and water. No sewer at any sites (except host sites) however dump station is located at campground. This is a remote section of Acadia NP with it's own walking/ bike parks as well as hiking trails it is far from the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor. We camped at Schoodic Woods Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

We did not use any local services on this trip however Winter Harbor has a grocery store and some reataurants. This is the alter ego of the Acadia NP you may know from the Bar Harbor section of the park, very quiet and relaxing.

Quechee State Park, White River Junction, Vermont

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

This is a great state park, set in a forest of tall stately pines. The campsites offer considerable privacy and are fairly large, most able to easily fit 2 large tents and 2 vehicles.

Some sites pair up nicely with others for multiple family/friend get-togethers. I recommend sites 9,11, 32-38 but I did not see a bad campsite. Amazingly it is an easy walk to the gorge, shops, and visitors center but has a feeling of isolation and is very quiet. We camped at Quechee State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Recompence Shore Campground, Freeport, Maine

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This is a working farm and might not be for everyone but we found it great. Our site 806 was right on Casco Bay. Egrets, Great Blue Herons, Bald Eagle and Osprey fishing right outside our window. On the farm side cows, sheep and tractors farming the fields, definitely a different experience for camping. Clean bathrooms, free showers and a staff that simply can't do enough for you. We camped at Recompence Shore Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Rifle Gap State Park - Lakeview Loop, Rifle, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

First the Colorado State Park Campgrounds are fantastic we have not had a bad stay in one so far. We could only stay 3 nights at Rifle Gap as we came without reservations. We stayed in the Lakeview section with outstanding views full hookups and a roof over the table.

The sites are spacious, sunny and open with a concrete pad, picnic table and fire ring. We camped at Rifle Gap State Park - Lakeview Loop in a Travel Trailer.
