Orlando S.E./Lake Whippoorwill KOA, Orlando, Florida

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $70.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park, nice landscaping, clean showers and bathrooms. Staff helpful. Good site separation in the section we were in, section B, deluxe lakeside. No problems with check-in. 28 cable channels, fuzzy but viewable, many over the air channels available. Water had a strong chlorine smell and taste. The roadways that were not paved were uncomfortable to walk on, due to the large size of the "gravel", which was 1-1 1/2" in diameter. Quiet at night. Plenty of shopping nearby, within 1-2 miles We camped at Orlando S.E./Lake Whippoorwill KOA in a Motorhome.

Sebastian Inlet State Park, Melbourne Beach, Florida

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

I mostly want to provide some info about the voltage issues that people have talked about, as I was concerned about that from previous posts. We were there for five nights, including over a weekend when the campground filled-up. I was constantly monitoring the voltage. I never had less than 107 volts, and we mostly ran between 110-115. However, our campsite (#28) had what looked like a power distribution point between us and the next site over. There are five of these in the campground, by sites 7, 21, 28, 38 and 43. I don't know if that made the difference for us, but we were able to run the A/C, fridge (6 cu ft), lights, TVs etc. at will, without any problem- something to consider when choosing a campsite. The A/C is a big deal, because you can forget about having windows open- the noseeums were absolute murder. We made the mistake of having the windows open the second night, and despite spraying the screens with permethrin, we still got hammered. In addition, the "city" water had a milky appearance that was not removed with a Brita filter. Other than that, it was a nice stay. We camped at Sebastian Inlet State Park in a Motorhome.
