Sky Valley Resort , Desert Hot Springs, California

Date of Stay: December, 2016 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

This resort is truly a gem of an oasis in the middle of the desert. The grounds are lush and green and immaculate. Interior roads are paved and seem new. The clubhouse is gorgeous and is well equipped. Activities abound in the park. We even got a visit from the 'welcome lady' who shared much information about activities and local attractions. Best park we have visited, by far. We camped at Sky Valley Resort in a Motorhome.

Valley Vista RV Resort, Benson, Arizona

Date of Stay: December, 2016 - $2.00
Overall Rating:

This is a large, but typical, desert campground. That means no grass and minimal shade. The layout of the park could have been better planned, but it works fine. Interior roads are gravel/sand but are well groomed and maintained. Staff is Friendly and helpful.

Did not use the pool or hot tub, but they looked good. We would stay here again as we drove through this area, but we had to entertain ourselves. WiFi was available but expensive through Jabba. We camped at Valley Vista RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Yuma Lakes RV Resort, Yuma, Arizona

Date of Stay: December, 2016 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

This is a large park with many seasonal, long stay residents. Located in the middle of a cabbage farm, the interior roads are gravel/sand but are well maintained. Site was large and flat with room left over after parking the toad on the site. Activities calendar is extensive with great member participation. We camped at Yuma Lakes RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Terra Starr RV Park, Checotah, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed four nights. Slip was totally gravel, without table, concrete pad or shade but with lots of sand spurs. Wifi was actually reasonably good. Good cable. Restrooms and laundry were good. Storm shelter was immediately available and nice for a hiding place. Grounds were well kept. Playground in good repair. Watch out for the speed bumps. Large storage area for boats and RVs. Only glaring deficiency was presence of many pot holes, both over filled and not filled. Past the rough entry things were pretty good. The staff was friendly and helpful. They held a package that arrived before us. Great place if you have a boat. Lots of shade for longtermers. We camped at Terra Starr RV Park in a Motorhome.

Country Living RV Park, El Dorado, Arkansas

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

WiFi was slow. Cable was rudimentary. Slip was grass but spacious enough, though no patio pad or table. Service was basic, when he finally came. With most of the spaces taken by permanent residents, we got the feel of a tenement. We would only use this park for an emergency stop. We camped at Country Living RV Park in a Motorhome.

Timberlake Campground, Brandon, Mississippi

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Better than most really urban camps. Set in forest of large pines, it is shady everywhere. Most of the sites have very long term residents. Interior roads are paved but broken many places by tree roots. Sites are packed closely. All sites have concrete pads. We were in a newer section by the lake with a view that was exceptional. WiFi was based on the office and had no reliability for those of us in the rear slips. We stayed a week and would do it again. We camped at Timberlake Campground in a Motorhome.

Anglers White River Resort (formerly Holiday Mountain Resort), Mountain View, Arkansas

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

We give this an 8 instead of a 7- because of the location in the hollow by the creek. WiFi was erratic. Cell service die not exist. But did I mention the creek? Gorgeous! Temp was 100F but the water was just fine. Interior roads were gravel and sand and rutty. None of the sites had concrete pads or patios. Rutted sandy site required use of jack pads. LOTS of shade everywhere. Limited number of 50 amp sites. Single washer and dryer for the camp use. Nice pool and bath/shower buildings. Number of Day Users made it more busy. There really is a swinging bridge over the creek. Very nice clubhouse with kitchen. WiFi in the clubhouse was very good. Sites may be a little rustic, but did I mention the creek? We plan to return. We camped at Anglers White River Resort (formerly Holiday Mountain Resort) in a Motorhome.

Bears Den Resort, Grove, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

Said to be under new management as 'Eagles Landing'. A large, spacious venue for Class 'A' down to tenters. Clean and groomed, the new owner/managers are very friendly and helpful. 50 amp sites seem to be limited and out site was large enough but without shading. The situation of the property on the lake is perfectly beautiful. First row of sites by the gate are also beside the roadway with resultant traffic noise. Concrete pads but gravel roads. We would stay again. We camped at Bears Den Resort in a Motorhome.

Hillcrest RV Park (formerly Timber Lodge Resort), Pumpkin, Texas

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Very quiet pastoral setting on a hilltop of bahia grass which was mowed. Site was grass and picnic table. Roads not paved. Staff very friendly. Pool was available, but we hadn't the time. Rural so that no amusements were close, but we prefer the quiet. We camped at Hillcrest RV Park (formerly Timber Lodge Resort) in a Motorhome.

Roadrunner RV Park, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Overall Rating:

Sites are concrete pads, but are pad width plus 8 feet grassed. roads paved and in good repair. Park accessible from Hattie but NOT from the Interstate-35 service road. Pretty much recovered from the tornado that hit OKC. Shade is minimal due to the storm, but they are planting saplings. Cable and Wi-Fi very good. Staff friendly and helpful. We would stay again. We camped at Roadrunner RV Park in a Motorhome.

Texoma Shore Resort, Madill, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

Nice and quiet. They are still recovering from last year's levee failure and flooding. The sites are spacious and grassy with half of the sites having a gravel pad. Our site sloped some, but we did well; and many of the other sites were more flat. The manager was the friendliest we have seen in a while. The laundry room was clean but under repair, but no problem. The roadways through the sites were gravel, but the paved roads from the office need repair. Propane onsite, but no ice without a drive. FOLLOW the signs to the site. We would visit again, in a year or two. We camped at Texoma Shore Resort in a Motorhome.

Lincoln Civic Center RV Park, Brookhaven, Mississippi

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed here a dozen times last five years. Great at first, but has changed. No max stay. Last six months has seen serious changes to the park. Always full with long term trailers. Has changed from an RV park to a long term mobile park with administration only caring about rent payments. Clutter around units is prevalent. Ambiance has changed to trailer park attitude with disregard for property rights, management reflecting drop in expectation for renter attitudes and neatness. Management caring only for rent payments on time. No respect for site integrity and protection. Better options available at nearby State Parks. Really sad to see negative changes in staff attitudes for campers in favor of trailer park trash environment. We camped at Lincoln Civic Center RV Park in a Motorhome.
