Oak Park Kampground, Garfield, Minnesota

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here towards the end of October on our way south. The water was no longer available but we expected that due to the time of year and we were winterized anyway.

We were assigned a very nice long pull thru which was great for our 39' 5th wheel. Escorted to our site. Easy to get in and out. Wifi was good.

Very pretty park, rolling hills and a few ponds.

We would stay here again. We camped at Oak Park Kampground in a Fifth Wheel.

Fort Boonesborough State Park, Richmond, Kentucky

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

The park is a rustic park in the trees. Our biggest concern is that it is not as big rig friendly as we would have liked. We phoned ahead a few days earlier and they said things were getting slow so no need to booked ahead even though we were a big rig (39 foot 5th wheel). When we got there on Saturday afternoon there were 2 pull thru sites left. We were told to go ahead and drive around and choose what we wanted, either the pull thru or a backin. One pull thru was long enough so we choose that. A bit narrow to get in around the posts and trees. Not level front to back. Good thing we went back to the office immediately to register since the woman in the office was on the phone saying only 2 pull thrus left. I quickly interrupted and said ours was taken.

The water connection was on a shared pedestal on the other side of Rv so we needed 2 hoses to reach it.

Overall probably a good park for smaller rigs but be ready to level your rig. The backin sites were maximum 35 feet if that, and then you would have to put your vehicle on the grass. No noise from the quarry this weekend. Water pressure appeared to be very high. We camped at Fort Boonesborough State Park in a Fifth Wheel.
