Homestead RV Park, Kirtland, New Mexico

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We were pleasantly surprised by this park. We are 45' pulling a Ram 1500. The entire park is gravel but easy access in and out. The sites are extremely wide and easy to navigate. The staff was friendly and we were told the showers were very nice. There are some workers staying here but their sites are well kept and clean. It is off the main road by a couple blocks so really no road noise. I would definitely stay here again. We camped at Homestead RV Park in a Motorhome.

Fort Telkwa Riverfront RV Campground, Telkwa, British Columbia

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

What a nice surprise. I am 45 feet pulling a truck and i was able to pull into my site and then unhook. It has the best internet I have experienced in a campground. After touring Alaska and Canada it was such a treat to find this place. I never believe signs that say FREE INTERNET - well you can believe the sign here. The park was full with a caravan and the internet was still fast. Why can't other campgrounds have decent internet. Booked to stay here one night and stayed for 3. This is a great small campground on the bluffs over looking the river. Most all sites have a river view. The owners are very nice and accommodating. Also there is a free RV wash. What else can you ask for. All for a very reasonable price. We will stay here again. The owners are doing it right. Thanks. We camped at Fort Telkwa Riverfront RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Baby Nugget RV Park, Watson Lake, Yukon

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $68.00
Overall Rating:

Over priced campground, but what choices do you have if going South on the Cassier HWY. If I do it again I would keep going and dry camp. This place was dusty and the most we had to pay on our Alaska trip. It did have 50amp power. You had to go to the Laundry building if you wanted Internet.

We ate a the restaurant which again was overpriced and the food was not very good. They would not serve you water as they said they were doing there part to conserve such a natural resource, but would sell you a $2 bottle of water. Clearly just a way to increase your bill.

I would try not to stay here again. Dry Camp at a beautiful overlook and save the money. You will enjoy it better. We camped at Baby Nugget RV Park in a Motorhome.

Mountain Shadow RV Park and Campground, Iskut, British Columbia

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This was such a beautiful park. Only about 30 sites but several nice large pull thru's. The sites are gravel with beautiful manicures grass between the sites. The sites are all tiered and they have the most beautiful view of the lake below and towering mountains. I must say this was the nicest park we stayed in on our trip to Alaska. There is nothing in Iskut so it is a place to just relax and enjoy the outdoors. I would have rated it a 10 but you only get 100 mg of internet which is very slow and 30amp service. That being said you will not be disappointed. If coming from the North and you have a big rig slow down when you get close and take a WIDE turn cause it is about a 270 degree turn. We actually had to unhook before we made the turn cause I did not swing wide. I am a 45' rig pulling a truck. Also there is no sewer but the dump is very convenient when pulling out. We camped at Mountain Shadow RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Triple G Hideaway, Fort Nelson, British Columbia

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

I was very surprised when we pulled into this park. The Big Rigs book (2016 Edition) recommends that you dry camp in town. They are so wrong. We have a 45' coach pulling a truck and we had a nice pull through and did not have to unhook. There are some trees but they are well groomed. The power was good and they had an RV wash. Also they had a small bar and restaurant that was good. No need to leave the park. I would definitely stay here again. Do not dry camp in town. No need if you are a big rig. We camped at Triple G Hideaway in a Motorhome.

Whistlers Campground (Parks Canada), Jasper National Park, Alberta

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here in a 45' Coach pulling a 1500 Ram. This was a beautiful National campground. Although there was no water or sewer we did have 50 amp service. We had elk and newborn calves in our campground. If you have a large coach you need to be careful of the trees. The access road to the sites are fine but once you pull into the circular site areas you need to be careful. We selected a site at the beginning of the loop so I did not have to go around the loop if there were trees. I would not have been able to go around the loop without scratching my coach so I backed into the site. This may not make sense to you but once you look at the campground map I think it will. The campground site also has photos of each site so you can see how open it is. We had no problem backing into our site. We could not get US DirecTV because of the trees. We would stay here again but would be selective on the site we picked. Campground is close to town. We camped at Whistlers Campground (Parks Canada) in a Motorhome.

Tunnel Mountain Trailer Court Campground - Full Hookups (Parks Canada), Banff National Park, Alberta

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

WOW what a nice National campground. Every site is a pull-through and our site had more than enough room. We could have been pulling two trucks and had enough room for our coach and trucks. We have a 45' coach and a Ram 1500. We had so much room. There are a lot of trees but there was no problem navigating the streets. All streets are paved and the sites are gravel. We had full hookups but only 30 amp service which was the only negative. Our site had a break in the trees and we were able to get US DirecTV. Based on a typical Canada campground this was very nice therefore I rated it a 9. The location and view was awesome. We have an all electric coach but with the mild climate 30 amp was fine. We would definitely go back and stay again. You will not be disappointed. We camped at Tunnel Mountain Trailer Court Campground - Full Hookups (Parks Canada) in a Motorhome.

Rotary Campground, Grande Prairie, Alberta

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed in this park on our way to Alaska. We have a 45' MH pulling a 1500 Ram. We had a pull-through site. Each site was paved and the streets were paved. Nice grass divided each site and we had 50 amp service with great power. We had water, but the 50 amp sites do not have sewer but they have a dump station. One highlight of the park was the WiFi. It had very good WiFi and that is one of the reasons as well as the nice sites that a rated it a 9. For Canada this was a nice park. There were few trees and we were able to get US DirecTV and our AT&T service through Rogers was good. Another plus it was just a mile or two from Costco, Walmart, Home Depot etc etc. If we come back to Grande Prairie we will stay here again. We camped at Rotary Campground in a Motorhome.

Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Camp-Resort, Missoula, Montana

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for 2 nights while we were getting work done on our 45' coach. The first night we stayed at another CG across the street but there were a lot of trees and Jellystone was more open so we were not apt to scratch the MH. The staff was friendly and the park was easy to navigate. We stayed in site 47 which was a pull through. Easy to get in and out. It is right off of I-90 on HWY 93 so it is very convenient. It is also near a couple of big truck stops if you need to get fuel. We would stay here again. We camped at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Camp-Resort in a Motorhome.

Jim & Mary's RV Park, Missoula, Montana

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

This was our second visit to this park. The owners take great pride in making the park look nice. If you like flowers this is the place to come. Owner is getting ready to put his flowers out for the summer and he must have a thousand of them. Last summer they were beautiful. Nice paved streets and gravel sites. I have a 45' and tall MH. The sites were long enough for the coach and truck but I did have to unhook. You have to be careful of the trees because there are a lot of them and things can get tight. I asked for a site where I could get directv and it worked fine but I would thinks most of the sites you will have too many trees. Didn't use the internet cause AT&T's LTE service was nice and fast. There is some train noise but didn't find it to bad but the neighbor (house) across from site F12 has a terrible barking dog. It barked until late and early morning. If you don't want to deal with the trees you can stay across the street at Jellystone. Again nice park and friendly owners. We camped at Jim & Mary's RV Park in a Motorhome.

Golden Spike RV Park, Brigham City, Utah

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for one night on our way to Yellowstone. I actually found this park in the Big Rigs book. It is a small park and it appears to have many full-time residents. However, the residents are all situated in the back couple of rows. We have a 45' MH pulling a Ram truck. We did have to un-hook to get into our site but the site was long enough for the coach and our truck. We had site # 2 which was a great site at the end so in the morning we hooked up in the site and pulled straight out. The park seemed in need of some TLC but the manager told us that they had a bad winter and had a lot of rain so it had been difficult to spruce up the park. There are some trees in the park but they were not a problem for the coach and getting directv. There is a gas station right next door with a few truck lanes and a Walmart across the street. This was a convenient place to stay and I would definitely stay here again. We camped at Golden Spike RV Park in a Motorhome.

Zion River Resort RV Park & Campground, Virgin, Utah

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

This park is very close to Zion. It is a very clean park with friendly staff. It has paved streets and the pull through are concrete sites with grass between the sites and the back in sites are gravel with no grass. We asked to stay on the river and not sure if we paid extra for that but it is not what I thought. U can't see or really hear the river because there is a big wall and trees between you and the river and only a couple places you can access the river. Also we had no room for our truck so had to park up at the entrance. We have a 45' coach and the park is very tight with lots of trees. They had to trim the trees on our site for me to use my slides and I could use our satellite. The cable didn't work very well as we could only get 9 of the 25 channels and you could barely see the picture. My neighbor also had the same problem. That being said it is a very clean and well taken care of park. We would stay there again but would try to get a spot with fewer trees. We camped at Zion River Resort RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Buckskin Mountain State Park, Parker, Arizona

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This was a great State park on the Colorado River. We stayed here in a 45' MH. The road and sites are paved. We only had Electric (50amp) and water but some of the pull through sites have sewer. We had a 54' back in site which was easy to negotiate but not enough room for us to keep our truck. They need to do some serious tree trimming as we could not drive down the street where we had our site. We had to go to the other end and back up the one way street. If you have a tall rig be careful on your site. Even the tree at the entry gate needs to be trimmed. Luckily it is like a weeping willow and did not scratch our coach. Luckily we stayed in spot 44 which had no trees. Wifi was non existent. We used AT&T hotspot to get on the internet. I would stay here again. We camped at Buckskin Mountain State Park in a Motorhome.

Cochise Terrace RV Resort, Benson, Arizona

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

This was a great park with such friendly staff. We stayed here with a motorcade club for several nights so the price above is not reflective of the cost as our club paid the bill and I am not sure of the daily rate. We had a large pull through with plenty of room for a 45' MH and a full size truck. The park had wide paved streets and our site was fully paved. The park looked well maintained and very clean. Unlike most parks we had great internet service inside out coach, that is one of the reasons I rated this park so high. It is close to several nice parks and especially Karshner Caverns which is a must see. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Cochise Terrace RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Lake Havasu State Park, Lake Havasu City, Arizona

Date of Stay: January, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Location, Location, Location. We stayed in this park in our 45' MH in a large back-in site. Our site backed up to the beach and the lake. The streets are all paved as well as the sites. The sites are spacious and with your neighbor at least over 100' away you will have plenty of elbow room. We had plenty of room for our coach and full size pickup truck. The park is right on the water with its own large beach area and is close to town and the London Bridge. The power and water was good. The only downside is there in no sewer but they do have a dump station and reservations seem hard to get as this park is in demand during the high season. I would definitely stay here again. We camped at Lake Havasu State Park in a Motorhome.
