Knife Island Campground, Esko, Minnesota

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

We were in a desperate situation trying to find availablity for a flexible time and on a holiday week. Knife Island was the only campground that could take us. We were able to park horizontally, giving us a large front yard looking towards the St. Louis River. Unfortunately, due to overgrowth, we were not able to see the river. No bathrooms, only portable toilets, which were only dumped once a week and no lights during dark hours. Full of spiders, not cleaned and ran out of toilet paper all the time. Grass only cut twice while there for 2 months and no weed whacking. Grey water was allowed to flow outside onto the grass. A honey wagon comes around once a week for sewer and never totally emptied the black tank. The sign up front said water & electric included but after a month we were told since we were running A/C it would be $3.50 a day more. Temps were close to 90 degrees. A very rustic campground. Picnic table barely useable. We camped at Knife Island Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
