Gem State RV Park and Campground (formerly Mountain Home KOA), Mountain Home, Idaho

Date of Stay: October, 2012 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Not fancy, but offers shade which I needed. The manager was very attentive and even asked about my medic alert bracelet. She wanted to be sure that I had the info I would need in case of an emergency. This is the first time that has happened, and I appreciated the gesture. Would stay here again for the shade. We camped at Gem State RV Park and Campground (formerly Mountain Home KOA) in a Motorhome.

Memaloose State Park, Hood River, Oregon

Date of Stay: September, 2012 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

Although this park is listed as Hood River, it is also only a few miles from The Dalles. You can only access the park from westbound I-84. I really enjoy this park. Lots of shade is available and very strong over-the-air television from Portland. The park is very popular with locals, so be sure to check site markers to make sure the site you select isn't already reserved. We camped at Memaloose State Park in a Motorhome.

La Grande Rendezvous RV Resort, La Grande, Oregon

Date of Stay: September, 2012 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Not the prettiest park, but it has all the basic amenities, including cable. Very dog friendly, too. You can see the effect of the economy here with quite a number of "permanent" rigs, but they are not obtrusive. Would stay again if in the area. We camped at La Grande Rendezvous RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Paved wide level sites with green lawn. Only thing missing is shade, and it can be quite hot here in summer. Very pet friendly with good WiFi and cable TV. Easy on/off freeway and close to shopping and gas. Have stayed here before and will again. We camped at Mountain Home RV Park in a Motorhome.

Partially shaded pull-thru sites with full hookups, including cable. I could see the Snake River from my door. You can have a meal delivered to your RV, and the large salad I ordered was very fresh and quite delicious. Easy on/off freeway. Would definitely stay here again. We camped at Village of Trees RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Indian Creek Campground, Deer Lodge, Montana

Date of Stay: September, 2012 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Would be hot in the summer because of the lack of shade. Long list of cable channels and very close to Grant-Kohrs national historic site and just down the road from the old Montana Territorial prison. Easy on/off access from freeway. Would stay here again. We camped at Indian Creek Campground in a Motorhome.

Price includes senior and cash discounts. Sites are gravel, each with an orange tree or two. Not a lot of shade, but some, which is helpful in the heat. Excellent cable TV and Wi-Fi. Would love to be here when the oranges are ripe. We camped at Orange Grove RV Park in a Motorhome.

Boardman Marina Park, Boardman, Oregon

Date of Stay: July, 2011 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

Excellent park with grass and shade trees. Over the air television from the tri-cities includes all the major networks, including PBS. Great walking/bike path and views of the Columbia River. They take reservations and can get pretty full, especially on the weekends. But a great park to which I'll return again and again. We camped at Boardman Marina Park in a Motorhome.
