Waterloo Harbor Campground , Waterloo, New York

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Thought this was a pretty CG, seasonal did get the nicer spots by the water, but the pull throughs were easy to get into. The only tough time for our 40' was going around corners because of the big boulders placed around, but we made it. We asked for open spot for satellite and there are plenty of them and wooded sites too. We never got the wifi password, so not sure if it worked or not. Verizon was okay, there was 30 amp and 50, site was pretty level. Man at front desk was very nice and helpful. Would be nice to stay here for a while. We camped at Waterloo Harbor Campground in a Motorhome.

Baldwin Oaks Campground, LLC, Hudsonville, Michigan

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Owner/host was very accommodating. When we said we'd like satellite, he had just the spot and moved the fire pit around to get us at the right angle. He works hard to keep the place clean. There do seem to be a lot of seasonal campers here, but that is no problem to us. Unhook at the office, spots were level, much of the CG is under trees, but there are some open spots. There were 30/50 amps, we had 30 and it was fine. Dump station near the office, interior roads were narrow but navigable for our 40'. We camped at Baldwin Oaks Campground, LLC in a Motorhome.

Hi-Pines Campground, Eagle River, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

We got here a few weeks before closing, so it was relatively empty. The spots were plenty long enough for rv and tow. Easy enough to unhook by the office. We were in an open area, which was what we wanted for satellite purposes. There is a wooded area more suited to tents and smaller campers. Staff was very welcoming. I believe they have lots of activities during the summer season. Wifi was good, weak verizon signal, site was fhu. Walking trail behind pond and an atv trail also. Staff was great, helpful, spots pretty level, easy navigation to spot. We camped at Hi-Pines Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Went there to see a cranberry bog at Lake Nokomis Cranberries. Unfortunately, because the weather was too warm, they were not harvesting at that time. They had a nice gift shop though and we got lots of cranberry products.

Lakehead Boat Basin, Duluth, Minnesota

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Yes, it's a parking lot, but we were very happy with the location for Duluth. You could walk to some of the shops. We were with FHU and the sites were pretty wide, no privacy between sites but facing the lake so had a very good view. Back in sites, picnic table, easy satellite as there are no trees, good verizon signal, wifi but we never asked for password. Able to walk the dog outside of the lot around the neighborhood, no problem for us, we always just want grass areas. We would stay here again. We camped at Lakehead Boat Basin in a Motorhome.

Lake Vermilion Soudan Underground State Park, Soudan, Minnesota

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

Found it a little hard to get to this park, as it didn't have a street address. We had to call the office a couple of times to find the campground. It was a nice park though, private sights, plenty of room, great wifi. We unhooked by our site and backed in easily. We only had electric at the site but there is a dump with potable water. The shower is very nice, as this is a fairly new park. There are rangers around, but no camp host. Our main reason to stay here was to visit the Soudan Mines and that was very worth it. We camped at Lake Vermilion Soudan Underground State Park in a Motorhome.

Fair Hill Campgrounds, Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Great spot with FHU for $30. It is parking on grass in an open field, so of course, in case of rain, it would be a mess. The spots would be tight if it were full too, but it wasn't when we went, and that was the Labor Day weekend. We were able to get the spot at the last minute and were happy. No amenities, but easy in and out. Camp hosts were nice. We would go here again. We camped at Fair Hill Campgrounds in a Motorhome.

Lebanon Hills Regional Park Campground, Apple Valley, Minnesota

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

The only reason we didn't give it a 10 is because the road coming in is difficult if there is another camper coming the opposite way. We booked 5 nights, but our site #39 blocked our satellite. The hosts were very helpful in locating us to another site for the remaining 4 nights. The park is well maintained, grassy spots to walk the dog, good wifi reception, especially closer to the office. Our first site had our picnic table at the back, which we weren't crazy about. The next site, it was next to us. There is a spot for hooking and unhooking when you first come in. We had FHU, but there is a dump site. They have great recycling bins, giving you bags to do so, even so far as composting, which we were happy about. Level spots on hard packed gravel and quiet. We camped at Lebanon Hills Regional Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Countryside Motel and RV Sites, Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

The owners are very friendly and helpful. The sites are a nice size on level gravel with a bit of grass next to each site. There is no privacy side to side but at least we didn't have anyone in front of us that could look in. We find that privacy more valuable. Shower and bathroom were great, single units so very private and comfy for showering. We got one of the two 50 amp sites and water. No dump available here, so be empty when you come. We couldn't get a verizon signal, but their wifi is very good. Pull through sites, unhook in site or before you pull in. Satellite reception great as there are no trees. We camped at Countryside Motel and RV Sites in a Motorhome.

Camp Scholler, Oshkosh, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

This is a place you use for the Oshkosh Airshow. We found this to be perfectly acceptable. We were worried from reading reviews, plus they said you get a 20 X 30' space and we are 40'. However, the spaces are more than long enough to fit us, with ample space on the side for the car and our awning. They parked back to back on a huge grass field and two 40' could easily fit front to back. Yes, it is close, there are 1000's of campers there. But the bus service available to take you to the show was great, port-a-potty and trash containers were available within a short walk, and heated mobile shower units placed around. E/W sites available but more money and harder to get. We understand first day arrival is a bit crazy and the last Sunday departure was very busy. Other than that, it was easy in and out. We would definitely use this area again to visit the EAA museum or shows. It was great fun. We camped at Camp Scholler in a Motorhome.

Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds, Middleburg Heights, Ohio

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Would not consider this a campground, as it is really just parking area with either fhu or e/w. Be aware if you don't take a spot with fhu, there is no dump. The only problem we had was that the ground was soft, especially after a night of rain and our motorhome sank in a bit. You do have to move your RV every couple of days to avoid that from happening or have good blocks. There are spots with shade or sunny spots. We go for the sunny spots to get satellite. There are no picnic tables or firepits, but you can put out your own little table with your grill. No one is there to check you in or out. You just pick your spot and pay when the office is open. We felt safe there. There are several entrances so it may be difficult to find the RV area. Look for the entrance on Bagley Road but it is not marked well. It is right near a hospital. We would go back. We camped at Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds in a Motorhome.

Robert H. Treman State Park, Ithaca, New York

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

We had reserved a spot for our 40', with electric. The site was a back in and up a fairly steep slope, which made it impossible for us to back in to with our tow bar. We elected to move to a non-electric site in a big grassy area. This worked out because it was still cool and we didn't need a/c. Generator hours were short. Besides the area we were in, which had few trees, the rest of the sites were in the woods, tough to navigate through with a big rig. The park itself was beautiful with the waterfalls and trails. Verizon signal was weak. Main access to the CG was through a bridge and you unhook your car by the office. Firepits and tables provided. We camped at Robert H. Treman State Park in a Motorhome.

Tip Tam Camping Resort, Jackson, New Jersey

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

This was a nice resort, but we didn't use the facilities. They have 2 pools, bocce ball, basketball, mini golf, activities in the summer. We were there on a rainy week. Being all sand, it made for a mess walking the dog. I will say we got in and out with our 40' rig, but it was very difficult. There is an escort to help and he was very helpful. Lots of trees, no satellite, they had cable, we had fhu 50 amp, unhooked by office, verizon signal on and off, wifi available. Appreciated the recycle bin. The traffic noise is there if you are parked in back. Our spot was quiet. Spots were roomy, but felt crowded as they were every which way and no sense of privacy at all. We camped at Tip Tam Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Old Cedar Campground, Monroeville, New Jersey

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Made reservation online, easy check in, bit of tight turns with trees and bollards for a big rig, parked in last row that had 50 amp, no trees which we like for satellite, pull through and easier parking. You can easily be parked among the trees and be well shaded. We had a fhu, but there is dump station. Cow pasture right behind us made it a lovely stay, the calves were so cute. We were parked on grass, there were picnic tables and a fire pit. The water post is shared, so one is close and one, you will need an extra hose. We were site 45 and switched to 46 for an easier hook up. Good area to walk the dog, garbage dumpsters located through out the park. There is a pool and miniature golf. Internet worked fine, and verizon signal was strong. 30 minute trip to Philadelphia. There is a little room to pull over and unhook the car before you get to your site. We camped at Old Cedar Campground in a Motorhome.

Red Top Mountain State Park & Lodge, Acworth, Georgia

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

While this is a pretty park, we did not find it good for anyone with a big rig. The roads are winding and small with tree branches hitting you at every turn. The pull throughs right on the left when you come in are long enough. However, entry is steep coming in to most of them and we saw many gouges in the asphalt from trailers and tow cars that bottomed out. Unlike many other Georgia state parks, upgrades have not been made to the roads and sites. Very wooded. Great for tents and small RVs. We camped at Red Top Mountain State Park & Lodge in a Motorhome.

Payne Campground COE, Acworth, Georgia

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed in spot #36 with our 40' motorhome. It was an easy pull through. The spot was at the beginning of a little cul-de-sac, which is how most of the loops are here. It would have been a bit tricky to drive around the curve of the cul-de-sac, but it was easy enough to back up. Dump is at the front. Many spots are heavily treed. Ours was not, which we request for satellite. Most spots have views of the lake. It's a very pretty park, lots of birds singing, little walking trails here and there. Verizon signal was good on and off. Very clean, very quiet, cement pad for concrete picnic table, with grill and fire pit off to the side. We loved it here. We camped at Payne Campground COE in a Motorhome.
