Robert H. Treman State Park, Ithaca, New York

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

We had reserved a spot for our 40', with electric. The site was a back in and up a fairly steep slope, which made it impossible for us to back in to with our tow bar. We elected to move to a non-electric site in a big grassy area. This worked out because it was still cool and we didn't need a/c. Generator hours were short. Besides the area we were in, which had few trees, the rest of the sites were in the woods, tough to navigate through with a big rig. The park itself was beautiful with the waterfalls and trails. Verizon signal was weak. Main access to the CG was through a bridge and you unhook your car by the office. Firepits and tables provided. We camped at Robert H. Treman State Park in a Motorhome.

Tip Tam Camping Resort, Jackson, New Jersey

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

This was a nice resort, but we didn't use the facilities. They have 2 pools, bocce ball, basketball, mini golf, activities in the summer. We were there on a rainy week. Being all sand, it made for a mess walking the dog. I will say we got in and out with our 40' rig, but it was very difficult. There is an escort to help and he was very helpful. Lots of trees, no satellite, they had cable, we had fhu 50 amp, unhooked by office, verizon signal on and off, wifi available. Appreciated the recycle bin. The traffic noise is there if you are parked in back. Our spot was quiet. Spots were roomy, but felt crowded as they were every which way and no sense of privacy at all. We camped at Tip Tam Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Old Cedar Campground, Monroeville, New Jersey

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Made reservation online, easy check in, bit of tight turns with trees and bollards for a big rig, parked in last row that had 50 amp, no trees which we like for satellite, pull through and easier parking. You can easily be parked among the trees and be well shaded. We had a fhu, but there is dump station. Cow pasture right behind us made it a lovely stay, the calves were so cute. We were parked on grass, there were picnic tables and a fire pit. The water post is shared, so one is close and one, you will need an extra hose. We were site 45 and switched to 46 for an easier hook up. Good area to walk the dog, garbage dumpsters located through out the park. There is a pool and miniature golf. Internet worked fine, and verizon signal was strong. 30 minute trip to Philadelphia. There is a little room to pull over and unhook the car before you get to your site. We camped at Old Cedar Campground in a Motorhome.

Red Top Mountain State Park & Lodge, Acworth, Georgia

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

While this is a pretty park, we did not find it good for anyone with a big rig. The roads are winding and small with tree branches hitting you at every turn. The pull throughs right on the left when you come in are long enough. However, entry is steep coming in to most of them and we saw many gouges in the asphalt from trailers and tow cars that bottomed out. Unlike many other Georgia state parks, upgrades have not been made to the roads and sites. Very wooded. Great for tents and small RVs. We camped at Red Top Mountain State Park & Lodge in a Motorhome.

Payne Campground COE, Acworth, Georgia

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed in spot #36 with our 40' motorhome. It was an easy pull through. The spot was at the beginning of a little cul-de-sac, which is how most of the loops are here. It would have been a bit tricky to drive around the curve of the cul-de-sac, but it was easy enough to back up. Dump is at the front. Many spots are heavily treed. Ours was not, which we request for satellite. Most spots have views of the lake. It's a very pretty park, lots of birds singing, little walking trails here and there. Verizon signal was good on and off. Very clean, very quiet, cement pad for concrete picnic table, with grill and fire pit off to the side. We loved it here. We camped at Payne Campground COE in a Motorhome.

Silver Springs State Park (formerly Silver River State Park), Ocala, Florida

Date of Stay: January, 2018 - $12.00
Overall Rating:

Pretty park, large spaces, easy to get into, great little area next to RV to sit outside with fire. We did have to pull back at an angle to have our hose reach the sewer as it was rather far back. We did not get satellite because there is a scattering of trees around. Verizon signal was 2 bars. While camping here, our parking pass allows us free access into Silver Springs Amusement park, which has glass bottom boat rides. Not sure if they are free. We only stayed one night as we were passing through, but would love to have stayed longer. We camped at Silver Springs State Park (formerly Silver River State Park) in a Motorhome.

Collier-Seminole State Park, Naples, Florida

Date of Stay: January, 2018 - $11.00
Overall Rating:

Well, have to agree with everyone else. Here we were in January and the mosquitoes were still everywhere. Didn't sit outside at all. The sites were close, not like most other state parks we've been to. Site 49 which was long and fit our RV, was almost impossible to back into because of the trees on both sides and these "hitching posts" they have placed randomly around the sites. We had to move to another site the next day, 103, and that was a lot easier to back into. However, our front window was right across from another RV, so there was no privacy at all. While there might have been a couple of little walkways, indicating dog walk, there were no trash receptacles around. We were very disappointed in this state park. The hosts and staff worked hard though and did keep up the appearance of the park. Easy in and out to sites, verizon was weak, satellite worked, grass and little pebbles, picnic table and fire pit. We camped at Collier-Seminole State Park in a Motorhome.

Mother Neff State Park, Moody, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful visitor center and friendly staff. Check in was easy, they were happy to let us get to our spot as we got there close to closing time and come back to pay the next morning. We had a choice of a few spots and got to pick which one worked best for us. Easy drive through loops, level spots, easy to back into and very spacious. Had Fire pits and patio tables. Verizon signal was good. No wifi. They had playgrounds and trails all around. Had light traffic noise. We camped at Mother Neff State Park in a Motorhome.

San Angelo State Park, San Angelo, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

We thought this was a beautiful park. It was confusing when driving there, as we weren't sure where to go with there being a north and south entrance. Luckily it was still day time and we called the park to get advice. we went to the south entrance. Staff was friendly and helpful. The spots were huge, well manicured (the volunteer camp host did a great job). It was nice to have the picnic table and fire ring next to the RV so that you could watch tv outside and still be sitting near the fire. There are little pathways through the loops, which are great for walking the dog. They have bird feeders set up at different spots for bird viewing. We took a little drive to see the small herd of bison and longhorn steers. We came across a few javelinas too. Verizon signal good, there is wifi but not strong. We camped at San Angelo State Park in a Motorhome.

Carlsbad RV Park and Campground, Carlsbad, New Mexico

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

The sites are long, with two in a row, but plenty of room for our 40' with tow. It was nice when we got there that the other party wasn't there, as they were behind us and we would have had to back in. As it was, we could just pull through to our spot. They were nice level spots, little picnic table. No division between sites, so little privacy, but your picnic table was not next to any other picnic tables. There were two dog parks on each end of the park, which was nice to let your dog off leash. Place was clean, quiet and nice staff. We had decent wifi. Easy in and out, and level sites. We camped at Carlsbad RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Park is very clean, quiet, pretty. Owner?/manager escorted us to our spot. He was very helpful. United Campground of Durango, Durango, Colorado

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

Sites were close as most private parks, but enough room to have awnings out. At first I thought the parking which was done one this way, one that way was good, until I realized our picnic tables were right next to each other. Not crazy about that, no privacy. There was area to walk the dog. It was fun the see the train go by. Very close to downtown, which was great, or there is the Durango shuttle stop right outside the entrance. The wifi wasn't good, so we used our Verizon cellular, which was pretty good. Our sight, as most, was easy to level out. We camped at United Campground of Durango in a Motorhome.

Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs Resort & Spa RV Park, Ojo Caliente, New Mexico

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This review is only about the rv parking. We had a hell of a time getting into our spot. There were some spots that were okay for a 40' but not this one. We should have gone back to desk to ask for another spot. Once we put out our slides, we could not walk on the passenger side at all and had to duck and walk on the driver's side. Internet was great. All that aside, we would go back because we loved using the pools. We will definitely get the spots meant for a bigger rig though (6, 7, 8, 9 and 10) Do not take 11! Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Owners were very pleasant, escorted us to our site. We pulled in, but had to back out, but it was easy. We were relieved the CG was not full, because if someone had been next to us it would have been very, very close. We also parked our car in that spot, as there was no room behind us for our car. There were random picnic tables around. We were on a street, but traffic during the night was pretty quiet. There were plenty of quiet roads to walk the dog. Site was level, little bit of shade, but we still got satellite. Wifi signal was weak. We camped at Capulin RV Park & Camp in a Motorhome.

Taos Valley RV Park & Campground, Taos, New Mexico

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We booked our site at the last minute. We were happy to get in, but we did not get fhu. The site was tight to pull into, we did scratch RV on the trees. If we would have gotten fhu, those sites were easier to get into with nice concrete padding for the tires. We were lucky a staff member was driving around and helped us find and our site. It was a little confusing. We thought the park was so pretty, not just a parking lot. Wifi did not work for us, verizon signal good. We used the showers and they were very clean. A little bench would have been nice to put my bag on. Good area to walk the dog around. There was a picnic table but we didn't use it because it wasn't that easy to get to. Again, our spot (#42) was not for a big rig with 3 slides. Most other sites seemed easier for using the picnic table. Some of the trees were a bit too large for a big rig to get around. Despite all this, we would stay again, but would hope to get a much better site. We camped at Taos Valley RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.
