Keenes Lake Family Campground, Calais, Maine

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $16.00
Overall Rating:

Out of the way down an old road and then a dirt road that is very bad and I thought I may have to use 4-wheel drive to get in to the campground. Once in, the roads are dirt & dusty but manageable. The pull-through sites are uneven grass and you will need blocks to set up. No sewer but a dump station. Nice people and nice lake once in there but not a destination to go for in the area. Was very clean. We camped at Keenes Lake Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

The town (Calais) has passed ordinances against Wall Mart or other overnight stops we were told to make people use the couple campgrounds in the area. We did not find the town RV Friendly.

Moody Beach RV Campground, Wells, Maine

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $19.00
Overall Rating:

Good stop over but the trailer sites are secondary to selling cabins so are not easy to get in but all right once in the site. Good hook-ups. It is a campground that nickel and dime you with cable and wifi...so they keep their rates low but get you on other charges. So your rate can go to $30.00 easy. Other than that a nice place. We camped at Moody Beach RV Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Beach stuff in season. Wells and York have great beaches and really nice. Ogunquit is expensive and different but worth a drive through.

Great really large sites, good hook-ups. No TV and WiFi extra charge. Great staff. Only issue is you have to go up a steep mountain to the sites. We camped at Spring Gulch Resort Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Sturbridge RV Resort (formerly Sturbridge Outdoor World Campground), Sturbridge, Massachusetts

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $19.00
Overall Rating:

Very small and tight spaces with no room for slides or awnings to be put out unless within a foot - maybe two of the other camper. Good hook-ups and seem new with 30-50 amp. WiFi is $6.00 per day and limited to a short time for checking email. Real nice pool and hot tub inside, nice store and pond area. We camped at Sturbridge RV Resort (formerly Sturbridge Outdoor World Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Sturbridge is a nice town but Old Sturbridge Village is expensive and not worth the trip. WiFi is great at a McDonalds only 4 miles down the road. There are good shopping facilities around.

AOK Camper Park, Amarillo, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2016 - $13.00
Overall Rating:

Great stop-over if not staying more than a night. Some electric outlets not working and sewer hard to hook up to because of high sewer connections. RV Park is part of motel with year round living units.

(Lot spacing is nearby with sunny/open exposure. Site surface is dirt.) We camped at AOK Camper Park in a Travel Trailer.

Lost Valley Lake, Owensville, Missouri

Date of Stay: March, 2016 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

Be careful when checking in as only one area (600's) have WiFi and good TV Reception. They may put you in the other areas if in on a club discount. Nice RV sites (if in certain areas) and plenty of room between sites. Good price because of club memberships, but services are below standard for seniors. The pool areas are for young children including all the hot tubs which is great for young parents, but not good for seniors. Washing Machines all broken, so had to drive 10 miles to town for laundry. We camped at Lost Valley Lake in a Travel Trailer.

Musicland Kampground, Branson, Missouri

Date of Stay: March, 2016 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

It is a great place to stay if doing the various shows. The office and grounds help/assistance is excellent with a special thanks to Walter and Valerie. It rained the week we were there so a little wet but also "high and dry" if there would have been any flooding.

(Lot spacing was nearby, with some shade. Site surface was gravel and featured a picnic table.) We camped at Musicland Kampground in a Travel Trailer.

Val Vista Village (55+ park), Mesa, Arizona

Date of Stay: February, 2016 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

We have travelled the US from Maine to Florida and then across to California and now heading back the same way. Of the 20+ RV Campgrounds this is by far the best. Great entertainment daily, live music, events and several pools and hot tubs. There is a restaurant and bar and easy access to town. Concrete pad for RV and parking. Tips for other Campers:

Be cautious if going in under any discount club. Advised when making reservations that RPI rates ($10.00 day + cable) would be honored and when arrived advised it would not and the person answering the telephone and confirming reservations was wrong. Did give Good Sam Discount of 10%

Pippy Park Campgrounds and Trailer Park, St John's, Newfoundland

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice park in the middle of St. Johns, but you feel like you are in the country. The problem is the high cost, considering they offer nothing other than a place to park the RV - with FHU. I would in the future, stay outside St. Johns and commute in for the visit. There is a beautiful park in Holyrood just 30 minutes away on a nice lake. We camped at Pippy Park Campgrounds and Trailer Park in a Travel Trailer.
