Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Campground, Asheboro, North Carolina

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Currently there is only 16 site available, The owners are in a lengthy building process of this park. There is no bathroom or shower facilities currently available and full hooks ups are required. This is basically a campstore with gravel roads and 16 sites. There is a small pond on the property with trails. The nightly rate reflects a free night over the 4th of July. The park is good proximity to the zoo, and daily zoo adult admission was included with our site. The owners and staff are great people and do their best to provide a family stay. There was multiple families with children that were having a decent experience, and the park provided inflatable water slides as pool is not yet completed. The area can get dusty if it doesn't rain. Overall with the parks current lack of facilities, the owners really make sure that every one is taken care of with other activities. We camped at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

The North Carolina Zoo is within 3 miles, this is the largest walkable zoo in the world. Seems many people do not know it exists. It is state owned and well maintained.

Camping World Racing Resort (formerly Charlotte Motor Speedway CG), Concord, North Carolina

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

This park has been well detailed in prior reviews. It is a camping lot for the motor sports industry. It also provides an economical space, when nothing is happening at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The rv resort should be eliminated from the name, as this is only hookups, and no shade at a great price. The commute to attractions such as the Aviation museum, and Billy Graham library really is not bad, considering the 20 mile distance. The staff is friendly. This park is Camping World by name only and is still owned by the Speedway. We camped at Camping World Racing Resort (formerly Charlotte Motor Speedway CG) in a Travel Trailer.

The park isn't far from the Concord Mills mall. There is also a decent farmers market near the Billy Graham Library that is worth checking out if that is your thing.

Ivy Acres Lodge and RV Park, Piedmont, South Carolina

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

It should be noted that this is a 45 year plus park, and there is no bathroom or shower facilities provided. The campground is a country farm setting. The sites are gravel, the hookups worked fine. The WiFi is spotty. This is a very quiet park, with walking trails around the large property. It actually is a very nice place for visiting Greenville with easy access, even though it really doesn't appear like it on arriving. Several food places and services a short distance north in Powdersville. Don't waste your time in Piedmont, not much there. The park itself is kept well maintained even though you seldom see staff after checkin, which is not a bad thing. We would stay here again while in this area. We camped at Ivy Acres Lodge and RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

There is a very misplaced Texas food chain, Kolache Factory, in Powdersville. We like kolaches so that was a pleasant treat.

Wanderlust RV Park, Eureka Springs, Arkansas

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Park is is located near Passion Play. And is a good location to Eureka springs. The park is kept very tidy by a good group of staff members. The park sees heavy use on weekends like most other area parks reservations are advised. Wifi is much better in the upper area closest to office, and none existent in the rear of the park. We camped at Wanderlust RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Cherryvale COE Park, Cherryvale, Kansas

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $17.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice COE Park that is used heavily on weekends by locals with their families. It is near several local small communities. It has ballfield and park like facilities to serve these communities. It has many full hook up sites and an over flow area that is electric only. Both areas are very nice depending on what hook ups you need. Quite possibly this is the nicest COE park you will find. We stayed here one night while crossing Kansas and was definitely worth locating. We camped at Cherryvale COE Park in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

This park is good for a stop over crossing Kansas. It's located near the interstate but is quiet. It's an older park, and has clean laundry and bathroom facilities. Setting is gravel, grass and trees. The staff is friendly and the value is good. We stayed here one night. We camped at Melody Acres RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Haggard's RV Campground, Pueblo West, Colorado

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Park is centrally located for visiting Pueblo and Canon City. The park appears to be isolated 10 miles out of town, but is actually a quick drive either direction to town. The park is nicer than is appears from the road. It's location with great sunrises and sunsets makes this park very fun. It is an old KOA campground the owners are rehabilitating. The current owners live on site and are way above most in attitude and making you feel like your welcome. There are no long term trashy trailers in this park unlike the one 10 miles down then road. The one drawback is the park is on well water with high iron content. You need to come with full water tank for cooking and drinking or water filter. The owners are very up front about this. We used the showers on site, which are kept clean. And brought a tank of water and did fine. The park has a nice sized pool which is well maintained. Bring your binoculars to view the wild life that live around the park. The park has many returnees that use this park. We enjoyed our stay here. We camped at Haggard's RV Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Mountain View RV Resort, Canon City, Colorado

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

The staff are very friendly and keep the park very tidy. There is one bath house for the park with two toilets and two showers for men, identical for women. Showers and bath room are clean. Easy drive to Canon City, close to skyline drive. When making a reservation, inquire if your site connections are on the left side. Some of the sites share a water faucet, and the power may be on the incorrect side. They work fine just make sure you have enough hose etc. to make the connection. There are some sites with afternoon shade, most of the premium sites have no shade. I'm not real sure on the 9 rating on this park. It's nice and clean but basically provides a place to stay. There is not much else provided here. Wifi works well. We camped at Mountain View RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

West View RV Resort, Dolores, Colorado

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This is a new park in the Cortez area. All facilities show a lot of pride in this park. The owners are building a very nice facility and going about it right. Several seasonal guests in nice rigs. The lumber yard next door does start work early but the noise really can't be heard inside your RV. The noise is also not all day, just a couple hours. Has daily happy hours, potlucks and activities. The green grass is a plus here and well kept. The streets are gravel with gravel sights which are packed well. Good location to visit Mesa Verde, and Cortez. Not much to say here, but well done in most every way. We camped at West View RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Blake Ranch RV Park & Horse Motel, Kingman, Arizona

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

It's close to the freeway, but a quiet place to over night. It's also well out of Kingman 14 miles to the east and that is a plus. All the sites are a good distance from the office, bath, shower facility. The wifi signal is useless as well as the cable. It is a very clean safe place to overnight. Other than that the place has little to offer. Staff was nice. We camped at Blake Ranch RV Park & Horse Motel in a Tent Trailer.

Cypress Morro Bay RV & MHP, Morro Bay, California

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

The same family has owned this park for 40 years. It received a major facelift in about 2003. The park is located within walking distance to most everything in Morro Bay. It is not on HWY 1 but is very easy to get to from the park. Have stayed at many of the other parks, this one seems to provide the best value for visiting this city. The power, water, sewer, cable are great, the wifi can get really spotty. First impressions are the spaces are tight with the back in set up, however I had no problems parking the RV and had ample space for tow vehicle. The park is quiet, and has several seasonal campers in nice rigs. Everything is kept spotless. When in this area you really can't do to wrong here. The owners are nice people and have been in this business for a long time. We camped at Cypress Morro Bay RV & MHP in a Travel Trailer.

Blackstone North RV Park, Fresno, California

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed at this place before, while visiting relatives in Fresno. There is not much selection in this area for rv parks. The park is under new ownership, but really hasn't changed anything much to improve it. The park itself is safe, and in a good location of town. If you walk outside the park early you will trip over street people sleeping on the side walks, which has increased over the past years. Electrical water and sewer work well, the wifi is useless, as well as the cable TV, both have ususable signals. The bathrooms are kept clean. The long term units are kept tidy and are friendly. The donut shop across the street is really good. If your stuff in this part of the valley this is not bad, that not great either. Have never had a problem during any stay here. We camped at Blackstone North RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Don Laughlin's Riverside Resort RV Park, Laughlin, Nevada

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

Have been here many times. The park seems to be showing its age and high usage. Most of the restrooms were under some stage of remodel and closed, with no one really working on them. Staff in office was nice, trams were basically non existent. Seems many of the trailers there during this visit have been there for some time, and have accumulated some level of junk around them. Never saw security in this park. Probably will not come back when in the area. Felt safe, but this park is definitely not at the level it used to be. We camped at Don Laughlin's Riverside Resort RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Bakersfield River Run RV Park, Bakersfield, California

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here while visiting family in Bakersfield. Overall park is maintained and clean. There is little shade if it's hot and sunny, but welcome to the SJV. Staff was friendly. Has pool and hot tub. Sits on the riverbank just a short distance off the hwy. Is in a quiet and secure area, long terms units are well kept at this time. Only complaint, is the wifi is fore the most part non existent. There is a good signal but very small band width. Plan on using your own hot spot for any needs. We camped at Bakersfield River Run RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

High Desert RV Park, Albuquerque, New Mexico

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice park along I-40. It is kept very clean. We discovered this place after being treated rudely attempting to make reservations at two other parks. Have been so glad we found it. Price reflects weekly rate per night. I did not find the wifi much different than most other parks. The wifi was updated during our stay and ran very fast for RV setting. The owner and crew run a tight ship here and their pride in the place shows it. We camped at High Desert RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
