Creekside RV Park, Pigeon Forge, Tennessee

Date of Stay: March, 2016 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

We were passing through but loved the location! We were in a 40 ft RV and had a pull-through site that was super level and spacious. There was also plenty of area to walk the dog. As I stated, the location was fantastic and near shopping, sightseeing, and restaurants. We received great television reception and WiFi was great. The laundry room was exceptionally clean and the price to use both washers and dryers was reasonable. We would definitely visit the park again! And not to forget, the office staff were super! We camped at Creekside RV Park in a Motorhome.

Asheville's Bear Creek RV Park & Campground, Asheville, North Carolina

Date of Stay: March, 2016 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

The location of the park is great for getting to the Biltmore quickly. However, getting to the park is rather challenging. It is nestled up on a very curvy ridge right between two very busy interstates. The pull-through sites were located down the road from the main park but within view of the main park. It was a manageable spot but tight getting into. There wasn't much of an area to walk the dog or even go for a walk without running into very busy traffic. We were only there for a few days and didn't use any amenities such as the laundry room or showers. We also didn't get to visit with the staff but check-in was a breeze. If we were to ever pass through the area again we might visit again. We camped at Asheville's Bear Creek RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Oak Plantation Campground, Charleston, South Carolina

Date of Stay: March, 2016 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

What a huge park! The staff in the office were friendly and helpful. The site we had was a large pull-thru with gravel patio area, and getting in and out with our 40ft RV was a breeze. However, getting to the site was a very bumpy ride....there were at least 13 speed bumps that we had to go over to get to our site. The park location is great for getting to the city, but does have a very busy road to cross first. The dog park, laundry facilities, and swimming pool were quite a distance from us, but thankfully we didn't use them in our short stay. (It was way too cold for the pool!) We were able to walk our dog around our RV area, and had trash cans close by for dumping waste. We had good Wifi and local television channels. We would return if ever that way again. We camped at Oak Plantation Campground in a Motorhome.

Orlando Southwest KOA, Davenport, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2016 - $66.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very large, clean park. Our site was easily accessed but our view was the 2 dumpsters across the street, and the nearby hotels and their bright night lights. We were only here for 2 days so those things were not a big concern for us. The laundry facility that I used was in the middle of the park and was very small and unkempt. I had to clean the lint traps prior to using the dryers. Even after pre-treatment of a few fresh food stains, the stains remained after the wash. The cost of using them is about average for an rv park. The staff in the office was friendly and accommodating but the staff out on the grounds in their golf carts, never acknowledged anyone, not even a smile. Access to the interstate is great, especially if you are going to Disney. Pets are welcome on leashes and they have a small dog park. They even provide dog bags and small trash containers for the doggie-do. Overall, we would stay again when traveling this way. We camped at Orlando Southwest KOA in a Motorhome.

Water's Edge Motor Coach & RV Resort, Okeechobee, Florida

Date of Stay: February, 2016 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Because this is our 1st year snow birding, our early and prior reserving where we originally wanted to be was unsuccessful. So for the month of February, we started calling around the state desperately seeking a place to stay so we wouldn't have to go back to the awful cold and snow.

We happened on this rv park via the 2016 RV Travel & Savings Guide. I called and was greeted by a very friendly manager that was accommodating. The park is security gated and we were given a remote to get back in when we left the community. The park itself is small but beautiful. Our site was quite roomy with beautiful pavers and palm trees and shrubs between us and our neighbors. Pets are welcome and need to be on leashes. The sounds of traffic on the highway right next to the park are loud but only certain times of the day. Every day there was a social hour right before sunset in the large and beautiful Chickee hut...everyone was welcome. While we were there we celebrated Super Bowl Sunday in the Clubhouse/office with the others at the park. We also had a campfire wiener roast that everyone attended. They were both enjoyable with food pitch-ins by the residents and the managers provided the meats. Our rent did not include electricity but the average daily rate even with the additional electric was only $27.50. The water was a light rusty color but didn't seem to have an odor. We drank and used bottled water. There is no laundry facility and the closest and best one was about 6 miles away. Grocery stores are 10-12 miles away. The pool is clean and beautiful but not heated. However, we did sun ourselves there. The clubhouse is roomy and very nicely decorated. We were given a pass code to get in to use it if we wanted. We had no service with our telephones 99% of the time with AT&T and Wifi was sparse. The overall experience was enjoyable. If you love fishing this is the park to be in. It sits on the canal surrounding Lake Okeechobee and has a boat launch for the residents. We camped at Water's Edge Motor Coach & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Stuart and Port St Lucie which are about an hour east are the best places to go for shopping. There are also 2 big flea markets in Okeechobee with fresh produce (open all week) and lots of shopping of all kinds open on the weekends.

Raintree RV Resort, North Fort Myers, Florida

Date of Stay: January, 2016 - $61.00
Overall Rating:

What a lovely, activity filled park. The staff was great and very helpful and the residents were all very friendly too. The laundry facility was very clean and usually very busy. The swimming pool was heated and clean. Getting into and out of the park wasn't the easiest though as the HWY right next to it could be very busy depending on the time of the day. Dogs are welcome but have particular places they can and can't be walked. We had to leave the park altogether to walk our dog, which was along the very busy highway with nothing between you and the traffic except for a narrow bit of grass. However, cats can run freely within the park. Wifi was included but very limited. Cable television was also free with a deposit on a box which was returned upon return of the box. The park was very pretty and very well kept. We would stay again if dogs had a better walking area and could be walked in the park itself. Lot spacing was spacious with some shade. Site surface was a concrete pad and grass, featuring a picnic table and patio. We camped at Raintree RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Kissimmee South RV Resort , Davenport, Florida

Date of Stay: January, 2016 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

We were backed up against a fence that was covering up a dried up pond and one space away was a sewage processing area that made noise on and off all night while doing it's thing...a few days it created a nasty smell....our concrete pad was very old, covered in black spots from age, and shorter (our RV is 40ft) making the front end of the RV stick out in the grass area...we tracked in lots of sand even with rugs down. The site did have a new small picnic table on it. The overall of the campground is good though. The roads are paved, it was very pet friendly and the folks that reside there and visit there are wonderful....the office staff were also superb. There are a lot of activities going on through the week and some are posted on a sign as you enter the park. The location of the park is good and away from the road. We would go back.... We camped at Kissimmee South RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Haines City has the best Mexican restaurant called La Fiesta on the corner of Ingraham Ave and 7th in the historic downtown...about 10 miles south of the rv park.

Also around "Champions Gate" there is a suberb genuine British Fish and Chips restaurant...they even serve "mooshy" peas....the fish is great!! It's about 5 miles from the rv park.

Compass RV Park (formerly Indian Forest Campground), St Augustine, Florida

Date of Stay: January, 2016 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

New owners are improving the park everyday! They provided free WiFi, free cable TV, pull-thru sites (some with brand new concrete pads almost the length of your RV...ours is 40ft) The setting is very quiet with lots of shade trees, a pond, a fenced in dog park, very clean laundry facility and the staff are all very friendly and informative. They also had a very nice New Year Party around a campfire and a two man band played. They are located just a few minutes off of I-95, but close to St Augustine. We loved our week stay and met lots of great folks from all over the U.S. We camped at Compass RV Park (formerly Indian Forest Campground) in a Motorhome.
