Crooked Hook RV Resort, Clewiston, Florida

Date of Stay: January, 2016 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

Old Florida charm! This park is immaculately clean and well kept. It is older with many older park models but the lots are well taken care of with many having interlocking pavers. There is always ground maintenance trimming the trees and hedges and changing the garbage cans. There are lots of activities and the people are very friendly. The owner also seems to do a lot for the residents. Free dinners, prizes for activities all come out of his pocket. This is the complete opposite of the last park I stayed at. The showers are spotless, there is a huge library and the clubhouse is older but decent. I will definitely be back. We camped at Crooked Hook RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Not much to do in the area unless you like to fish. Clewiston has all the fast food and casual restaurants you need. The Tiki Bar is a lot of fun with great entertainment.

Sundance Lakes RV Resort, Port Richey, Florida

Date of Stay: January, 2016 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

First of all the residents are amazing. Without the volunteers this park would have virtually nothing to offer. There are 2 shower builders, 1 only has 2 shower heads out of 4 showers. The Wilder company doesn't spend any money on upkeep but rely on volunteers to make money through 50/50 draws and fundraising to upkeep the park such as the pool hall renovation. There is no landscaping other than what the residents do themselves. The activities are great but again they are all paid for and run by the residents. It's sad to see greedy Wilder take advantage of such nice people. We camped at Sundance Lakes RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Oak Springs RV Resorts, Port Richey, Florida

Date of Stay: December, 2015 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

This park is not very well maintained. The grass is more dirt and sand than grass. No effort put into trying to make the park look nice. Everything falling apart. Very few activities as they rely on residents to organize and run everything. Wilder resorts seem to be really going downhill. I heard that they refuse to spend any money to up keep the parks and even try to get the residents to add money above their rates if they want to get something done. Apparently the usual request is 50/50. Residents raise 50% and they will maybe add the difference to keep buildings maintained. It's very apparent at this park. Nothing is being maintained and the general feeling is that the park just wants to collect their money and not spend for the upkeep. I definitely could not recommend this park. We camped at Oak Springs RV Resorts in a Motorhome.

Homosassa River RV Resort (formerly Turtle Creek), Homosassa Springs, Florida

Date of Stay: November, 2015 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Pulled in and asked for water view. Was given last site on stream which was mud and green slime. Great place for mosquitoes to breed. What looked like a nice little river online was actually a little tiny stream. I think many of the online pics were taken at a nearby state park and not this place. Got settled and decided to check out clubhouse. It was closed due to renovations. Was not told when I arrived. Then informed there were no activities as season hadn't begun yet. Walked around and talked to upset woman as she rented a trailer for a month and was charged $200 pet fee for her little dog. Everyone I talked to seemed unhappy so cancelled the remainder of my stay and moved on to another park. We camped at Homosassa River RV Resort (formerly Turtle Creek) in a Motorhome.
