Desert View RV Resort, Needles, California

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This park was fine for a one night stop. We stopped here on our way to the Grand Canyon from California. The outside row we stayed in was nice. Gravel sites with a concrete patio. Each site is separated for privacy with beautiful Oleander trees. We stayed in site 26 on our way to the canyon and site 37 on our way back from the canyon. Full hookups. There are quite a few people that are full timers and there are mobile homes on the opposite side of the park where people live. As I was walking my dogs to the dog park.....I was shocked to find full on couches or recliners outside these mobile homes which seemed a little hillbilly for me. Then as we rounded the corner to go to the dog park, ugh, I was shocked, its dirt and not nice at all, it is however enclosed. Then there was a guy working on his car and seemed a little on the homeless side. I'm still giving the park a good review because the row we stayed in was pretty and quiet. It's just fine for full hookups on an overnight stay at $35/night. We camped at Desert View RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Mountain Gate RV Park, Redding, California

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

We originally had reservations up in Lake Shasta and the day we were leaving I went into my google maps to map our trip and noticed some reviews of the place in the Google maps app. I clicked on them and it took me to Yelp. I was horrified to find that the place in Shasta had terrible reviews. I had only booked our trip 3 months ago, yet in the last 2 weeks since the 4th of July there were 5 bad reviews, bringing down the overall rating. This was the first week the hubs and I had off in 4 years. We decided we couldn't take a chance. We immediately found Mountain Gate here on RV Park Reviews. I called and spoke to a very nice man who got us in for 5 nights!! Mountain Gate RV Resort is super friendly and super clean. There's a gated dog park with gravel. The spots where we are, are off set so we don't see neighbors on either side. We don't use the bathrooms/showers, but I hear they're clean and the parks overall cleanliness likely reflects that. The pool is quaint and very clean. They have coffee and muffins in the office in the morning. Needless to say, the hubs and I had to drive to our original destination to see what all the horror was about. It was horrible, staying at Mountain Gate RV Resort was the best decision we made. We're only halfway into our trip and we love the peacefulness. A little highway noise, but not bad at all. This park is wonderful! We camped at Mountain Gate RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The Chevron down the street has BlueDef fluid. Found that out after going to Walmart twice.

Vines RV Resort, Paso Robles, California

Date of Stay: March, 2016 - $90.00
Overall Rating:

This is a beautiful park. All concrete slabs with full hookups. There's a nice office/small store with coffee in the a.m. There are two pools one for family and one for adults only. There's also a nice jacuzzi. There are two small dog runs and a larger dog park towards the back of the park. We love it here. We camped at Vines RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

We've stayed at this park many times. They're friendly and offer coffee in the clubhouse in the a.m. There's WiFi but we rarely actually use it. It super clean and quiet. It's got a very large dog park with gravel. We love the full hookups. We love it here!! We camped at Boulder Creek RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.
