Bahia Honda State Park, Big Pine Key, Florida

Date of Stay: February, 2016 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

Recently spent a weekend at Bahia Honda as a getaway with my wife. It was a fabulous environment overlooking the beach. There was quite a bit of sand. It was crowded but very private. Very friendly campers and staff. Bathrooms were not the best maintained. Great beach and snorkeling. They have a beautiful and relaxing nature trail as well. I enjoyed my stay here and would recommend taking there snorkeling tour the guide was very knowledgeable and hilarious. We camped at Bahia Honda State Park in a Travel Trailer.

South Bay RV Campground, South Bay, Florida

Date of Stay: February, 2016 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

The South Bay RV park is a very well maintained by the county and offers boat ramp access to Lake Okeechobee right outside the parks gates which was extremely convenient. The park also has a small lake and canal you can fish in. South Bay left a little to be desired as town in regards to shopping but is only a short drive from a large town. The front office staff was extremely nice. My family and I loved are stay here and plan to come back very soon. We camped at South Bay RV Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Clewiston/Lake Okeechobee RV Park (formerly Clewiston / Lake Okeechobe, Clewiston, Florida

Date of Stay: December, 2015 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

The Clewiston / Lake Okechobee RV park is small and lacks amenities. I have since stayed at another wonderful park nearby. The park borders a cow field and is near loud train tracks and the highway. I found the website allures the park to be something it is not. The park claims to have free WiFi which in the first part of my stay did not work at all. After I was told it was repaired, I still wasn't able to even check my email let alone stream a movie. The spots are unpaved and maintained horribly. The restrooms showers are filthy. Aside from the close proximity to the town I was disappointed in my stay at the park. It is well worth the short drive to stay in the many other wonderful parks nearby. We camped at Clewiston/Lake Okeechobee RV Park (formerly Clewiston / Lake Okeechobe in a Travel Trailer.
