Mill Creek Ranch RV & Cottage Resort, Canton, Texas

Date of Stay: September, 2009 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed during the First Monday Trade Days and the park was full. This park earned consistently high grades and for good reason. The good: beautiful grounds, two pools, neat, clean, very friendly staff, easy to maneuver, level concrete pads, with lots of great amenities. The not-so-good: no patio, very little privacy between sites, our spot (#59) has a very large sanitary sewer manhole and is right next to the bath house. The goods totally outweigh the bads, though. Stay here: you won't be sorry. We camped at Mill Creek Ranch RV & Cottage Resort in a Motorhome.

Hickory Creek COE, Lewisville, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2007 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Hickory Creek Park just re-opened after being closed most of the summer due to flooding. Some sites not yet re-opened because of damage to the pedestals, etc. As is typical for COE parks, no sewer hookups. Very nice lakeside park with good shade, excellent access roads, and very friendly staff. If you're looking for a close-to-Dallas place to stay, this is highly recommended. We camped at Hickory Creek COE in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Highly recommended. On base at Pensacola NAS. Short walk to the beach. Shady with lots of trees. Sites somewhat narrow but complete with picnic table. Tight parking for toad, but it worked. Friendly staff. Took positive action to quiet down some loud music after 10:00 pm. Very good experience. We camped at Oak Grove Park (Military FamCamp) in a Motorhome.

Alley Creek Camp, Jefferson, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2007 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Alley Creek Camp on Lake O' The Pines is a Corps of Engineers campground with many RV pads lakeside. (Number 22 in Area 2 is great!) Grounds were well kept, employees very friendly and helpful, restrooms clean, swimming beach clean and sandy, RV pads level with picnic table, fire ring (bring firewood) and lantern post. Lots of trees and shade. The weather during Spring Break, 2007 was perfect, but I would think that heat and bugs would be significant during July and August. Has a very nice tent camping area. Excellent campground overall. We camped at Alley Creek Camp in a Motorhome.
