Santa Rosa Campground & RV Park, Santa Rosa, New Mexico

Date of Stay: March, 2016 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Just stopped for a night. Sites are close but there are trees for screening. The staff were SUPER nice.

(Lot spacing was very close with some sites sunny/open and others with some shade. Site surface was asphalt/gravel and featured a picnic table.) We camped at Santa Rosa Campground & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Only an hour to Yosemite or to Sequoia National forest. We highly recommend going to see Neldar Grove for Sequoias.

Olema Campground, Olema, California

Date of Stay: March, 2016 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

It happened to be raining when we were there and it flooded quite a bit. The maintenance guy was great, watching the flooding levels all night. They moved us to slightly higher ground. And refunded one night when we left early. So everyone was great there but from asking around at nearby campgrounds when we are trying to figure out where to go during the rain, this campground is known to flood. I felt it was overpriced for what it was. It is an older campground with smaller sites. But it is in a good location. And all the campgrounds are expensive there. We camped at Olema Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

The Point Reyes Seashore is gorgeous for hiking. Santa Rosa and Petaluma are nearby and fun to visit. If you like craft beer, visit Lagunitas and Russian River breweries. Lots of wineries nearby too.

Steckel Park, Santa Paula, California

Date of Stay: February, 2016 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

We had a nice shaded back-in site. The pull through sites are very close. The tent sites are really neat and some are close to a creek. The manager was super nice. It is in a larger day use park with big peacocks in it. Loved listening to them. Dogs can't go in the day use area but are allowed in the camping area. We camped at Steckel Park in a Travel Trailer.

Lake Jennings, Lakeside, California

Date of Stay: February, 2016 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

The park has nice trails. There are only two that the dogs can go on. It was a bit expensive for what it was. The sites have nice foliage around them but i still felt close to people. My DH thought they were good sized spaces. You hear a lot of noise from nearby campsites. We camped at Lake Jennings in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Nice sites but a little close to one another. It was quiet and the views were beautiful. Went on a nice hike. There are only a few places in the park where dogs can go. It is close to town and convenient for visiting Tucson. We camped at Catalina State Park in a Travel Trailer.

The sites were very nice. The restrooms and showers were clean. Not much for hiking trails there but good places to hike within an hour away. We hiked in Spring Canyon Park. Most sites had a covered picnic table providing nice shade. We camped at Pancho Villa State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Monahans Sandhills State Park, Monahans, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2016 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

This was a gorgeous park. The sites are well spaced. And the sand dunes are so cool. No night time light pollution. Lots of walking trails. Cell services is spotty if that's important. But it is remote place. We saw two rattlesnakes mating when we drove in! Overall this was a fantastic place to stay, we hated to leave. We camped at Monahans Sandhills State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Holiday COE, Benbrook, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2016 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park. Very little shade. The sites are uneven and would be hard for larger campers. Our water didn't work at our site. The maintenance guys tried to fix it unsuccessfully. They said it had been out for 2 days but the main gate didn't tell us that or move us when we checked in, despite the fact that plenty of sites were open. That could have been handled better. But the park is pretty and quiet. The sites are large. And there is hiking in the park. We camped at Holiday COE in a Travel Trailer.

Little Eagle RV Park, Buchanan, Tennessee

Date of Stay: February, 2016 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

The sites are fairly close together but pretty level. Lots of long-term people there. Quiet. The wifi was great and Verizon service was great. Our power pedestal didn't work but we were able to use the one at the next site without moving the camper. Bathrooms were sparkling clean. But there's just one for men and one for women and the shower, sink, and toilet are all in the one room. So if several people were sharing them, it might get busy. The camp staff person we met was super nice. We camped at Little Eagle RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
