Rivers Edge R.V. Campground

Holt, Florida

Date of Stay:

The interior roads are sand but are smooth and easy to navigate. The site is also sand with grass but level. Take a walk down to the river for a beautiful view. internet works well.

Date of Stay:

We arrived on a Sunday and only 1 ranger was on duty for checking people in for the day use areas as well as for boat dock and camping areas. I must say she was extremely good and handled the work loaded extremely well. Later in the stay we had the unfortunate experience of dealing a lady ranger that was surly and needed to be behind a desk out of sight. The sites were very spacious but the dump station was shut down.

Date of Stay:

The pull thru site was level and more spacious than the majority of KOA's where I have stayed. The campground had more of a park setting due to the front and back of the site were bordered by large trees and open area. It is off the beaten path but I would stay here again.

Date of Stay:

My site was a pull thru that was not level and was just long enough for my 33 foot 5th wheel. The sites are very close together. During the night, some idiot was using the campground roads as a drag strip. This campground is more of a mobile home park than a recreational park. If you are staying here, you are better off taking a site down by the lake. I will not stay here again.

Date of Stay:

The park is well maintained and has several trails ranging in length from .5 to 1.5 miles. The park is situated close to Cumberland National Park, St Simon Island and Okefenokee which makes it ideal for a base. All sites are spacious and level. If you desire privacy, select the sites on the right. Cable TV is advertised but does not work which made me downgrade the overall rating. If they are not going to fix it, it should be listed.

Date of Stay:

This is my third time staying at this campground in the last 4 years. I have always found the grounds and bathhouse to be very clean and well kept. The pull thru sites are long and level allowing me to remain hitched for my 1 night stay.

Sites 12 thru 25 are the most scenic and are the ones being reviewed. They are on a peninsula overlooking the lake. All sites have tall pines offering shade and sun. The parking pads are paved and level but narrow. They also have picnic tables that sit on a concrete pad and offer a fire ring as well as a BBQ grill. The only draw back to many of the sites is the ground drops off steeply from the parking pads making exit/entry to your camper difficult. We were in site #20 and to get to the first step of our camper was about 20 inches. If it were not for this I would have given the sites a rating of 10.

Date of Stay:

Stayed in site 17. The site was paved and level but after making room for the slide out, I had no room to open the awning. In Area 1, you must be careful in choosing your site to accommodate slides and awnings. The park features many good hiking trails ranging in distance from 1 to 6 miles. Areas 2 thru 5 were not open yet but offer more level spots and better maintained sites.

Ellis Lakeside Campground

Ellis, Kansas

Date of Stay:

Park is well maintained with long, level, pull thru sites. All sites have 30 and 50 amp electric, water and no sewer. Dump station is nearby. All sites are on the river and majority have large shade trees. Within walking distance of downtown which apparently has a railroad museum. WIFI is excellent. Toilet was need of cleaning. Did not use the showers.

Date of Stay:

Camp area has very little or no shade. The sites are concrete and level. I was surprised that there was internet access which worked extremely well. Phone service and TV reception was also very good. The park offers many activities ranging from hiking, biking horseback riding and swimming. Be aware that you must pay a daily park fee of $8 which puts the FHU cost at $38. I would stay here again.

Date of Stay:

I would have given it a terrible rating except that the hostess was very informative about the town of Meeker. The camp grounds are in a state of disrepair with a lot of trailers that are caving in. Looks like trash city. The bath and showers were dirty. I am not sure how the other people that stayed here were able to give the ratings that they did. I have had 2 reviews by RV Park Reviews that have been a total disappointment. This one and the one in Landers, WY. In the future I will take all reviews with a grain of salt. I would not stay here again.

Had site GB9. There are sites to the immediate left which makes leaving extremely difficult as you need to leave to the left. Close to town. Sites are level. Staff is friendly and helpful. Laundry and bathrooms and very clean with the bathrooms being very private. There are 3 washers and dryers. Dryers run for 45 minutes but if you have a heavy cotton load will not get dry. 30 amp outlet was up down which kept me from using my surge protector. Stopped because I needed to do laundry. I prefer the exclusion of State and Federal parks, I would not stay here again.

Date of Stay:

Pros: level sites, super clean bath and laundry, outstanding cable TV & Wi-Fi, majority of sites back up to scenic river view, free power wash available for vehicles. Cons: sites could use a fresh layer of gravel.

Date of Stay:

Sites are level with gravel bordered by grass and shade trees. Our site needed some fresh gravel as it almost was a dirt site. Rest rooms and showers were clean WIFI connection was good. Cable TV offered only 4 channels and reception was fuzzy. Showers cost 1 looney for 3 minutes. Washer and dryer was $3 each.

Date of Stay:

Sites are dirt. During our stay it had rained, making the sites muddy. We did not use the showers or rest rooms, but my wife said they were not clean. Sites are close together but are level.
