Richard B. Russell State Park, Elberton, Georgia

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

As most state parks, the park is older with short sites and a few that will accommodate long RV's. We were lucky to reserve a pull through site that was spacious enough for our 34 foot 5th wheel, however not very level as it was on a hill. The site was shaded, and a very nice gravel deck area that extended into the woods with a partial view of the lake. Our site was toward the end of the campground and very private. The park offers very nice trails, a pretty lake beach and an adjoining golf course. The park is somewhat well kept although hubby picked up some small trash on our site when we arrived. As others have stated, the golf course is challenging and very pretty. The back nine extends on a finger on the lake. There are no homes on the lake shores so you have a nice "out in the wilderness" feel. We had no phone service. A washer and dryer is available at 75 cents each. Washer did OK but dryer not the best. A great place to get away from it all. We camped at Richard B. Russell State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Bolding Mill COE, Gainesville, Georgia

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed at Bolding Mill a couple of times when visiting family in the Atlanta area. This is one of two COE camping parks that are open during the winter on Lake Lanier. The sites are long and spacious with natural foilage and trees intact between sites to offer privacy. The hosts do a great job in cleaning up the sites after check-outs and keeping the facilities clean. We camped during spring break and the campground was full. A coin operated washer and dryer is available at one of the two bath houses in the campground. A very large parking area and boat launch is located at the entrance. We always enjoy our stay. We camped at Bolding Mill COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Little Manatee River State Park, Wimauma, Florida

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at Little Manatee River for a second visit in a couple of years. The park is very quiet and typical of a FL state park with sandy sites and brush, palms and pines between sites for privacy. Each site includes a picnic table and a fire ring with grill. The bath house is old, but clean and is convenient in the middle of the campsites. There is also a laundry shed with two washers and two dryers ($1.75 each for use) which are in good shape and worked well. The park also includes an equestrian center/campground, playground, day use area, kayak launch area and nature trail. It is an easy drive from I-75 convenient to a Publix market, Walmart, and a few restaurants. We camped at Little Manatee River State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Woodsmoke Camping Resort, Fort Myers, Florida

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

An older, very large RV park and very well kept up. Located on Hwy. 41 and convenient to shopping (Walmart just down the street) and restaurants in the area. Our pull through site was easy to access in and out. Laundry room I used was very small, but convenient. Many "snowbird" mobile homes in the complex. Nice swimming pool and hot tub. Would stay here again when in the area. We camped at Woodsmoke Camping Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Gulf Coast RV Resort (formerly River Lodge RV Resort), Inglis, Florida

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at Golf Coast RV Park while visiting family in the area. The park is very large and offers spacious sites with full hookups. We did not feel that we were "cramped" in a site on top of our neighbors as there are no sites immediately behind you and allows extra sitting space. Restrooms were clean but only one shower in the bath house near us (there are two in the park). Assuming most folks use their own units for showers. There are two laundry rooms on site. The one we used offered six washers and six dryers. During our visit, four of the washers were out of order. The office was immediately addressed the issue and had them repaired. Very friendly and helpful staff. Maintenance does a nice job with landscaping. We will definitely utilize this park as a stopping point when in the area. We camped at Gulf Coast RV Resort (formerly River Lodge RV Resort) in a Fifth Wheel.

Riveroaks RV Resort , Oroville, Washington

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed at River Oaks for four different visits when crossing the Canadian border. The owners are always very friendly and accommodating. We have always had a 50 amp site on the river which is roomy and grassy with a picnic table and fire ring. As another reviewer stated, the laundry room is small with two different prices on the machines. The laundry is clean and I always find it convenient but do come prepared with your coins and supplies as there is no change machine or vending. The park is a combination of permanent mobile homes and rv's. We have always found the park convenient and comfortable for our stays. We camped at Riveroaks RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Downtown RV Park, Watson Lake, Yukon

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at Downtown RV on our way to Alaska and again on our way back to the Lower 48. As other reviewers stated, the campground is convenient to the Sign Forest and a very nice grocery store. There are also a couple of restaurants across the street. WiFi is not usable unless you go the the office porch. The campground itself is one big parking lot which is quite typical for commercial campgrounds in the Yukon. One nice amenity is the coin operated RV/truck wash on the site... very much needed after traveling the Alaska and Yukon roads under construction. Sites are very close together but long enough that we did not have to unhook from our tow vehicle. Don't expect a "nice" RV park, but a good place to stop to get supplies or enjoy a home cooked type dinner or breakfast across the street. We camped at Downtown RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overnite RV Park, Amarillo, Texas

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Picked this park as an easy access from I-40 during overnight stay in Amarillo. Located conveniently across the street from Pilot/Flying J. Another reason we picked this stop was to catch up on some laundry after traveling from Alaska. Unfortunately, I could only access one washer because folks left their wet laundry in the washers upon completion. One dryer was out of order. Aside from that inconvenience, the sites were nice and long for an easy pull through. With a charge of a couple of bucks, you were able to wash your vehicle with permission. This amenity was appreciated after the long dusty drive. There were a number of sites that looked like the tenants were a long time stay. Overall the park is a decent park for an overnight stay or two, but does need a little TLC. We camped at Overnite RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

NRA Whittington Center Campground, Raton, New Mexico

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We found NRA Whittington Center through the AllStays app while looking for an overnight stop during travel through New Mexico. What a great find! A huge complex featuring a gun museum and very nice gift shop. The staff is all very friendly and helpful. As previous reviewers mentioned, there are two different campgrounds and they are located quite a way from the main road via a dirt road. No issues. The campground features some shade trees at sites. We stayed in a very nice pull through that was long enough to include our 34 foot rig and tow truck. Although ours was a one night stop, NRA Whittington is on our list for a future longer stay. We camped at NRA Whittington Center Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Terry Bison Ranch Resort, Cheyenne, Wyoming

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

I agree with a previous review - this campground is OK for a one night stay. The grounds are not kept up very well and there are many campers that look like they have been living there for years and are also not kept up well. Easy access from the interstate and a decent pull-through length so we did not have to unhitch. OK for a "need to find a place to stop", but wouldn't go out of our way to do so in the future. We camped at Terry Bison Ranch Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

7th Ranch RV Camp, Garryowen, Montana

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed at many commercial campgrounds across the US including Alaska and in British Columbia. 7th Ranch is by far the most meticulous and pristine campground and restrooms we have ever seen. The owners are very welcoming and you are escorted to your site. Flowers are strategically planted throughout the campground which add to the beautiful surroundings. The RV park section of the working ranch is on a slight hill and the gravel sites are very level. The hill also provides a venue for a beautiful view. We were only here for one night as we were traveling through Montana, but would surely enjoy a longer stay. We camped at 7th Ranch RV Camp in a Fifth Wheel.

Acacia Grove RV Park, Spences Bridge, British Columbia

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Stopped at Acacia Grove RV Park for the night. Nice location on the river. This was the end of the "season", so there were only four rv's in the park including our own. Owners are very friendly and helpful. Sites are somewhat tight with trees but due to all the vacant spaces, we had no problem maneuvering into our back-in. Our site was pretty level so were able to stay hooked up to our tow truck for the night. The river is beautiful and you could see tent campers on the other side. Trains are constantly going back and forth on both sides of the river and probably would have been less bothersome if there was not a car crossing on the other side where they had to sound their horn. Overall, the park is very rustic and remote and in it's own style quite charming. They provided a community fire pit which we enjoyed. We enjoyed our stay during travel and would stay there again. We camped at Acacia Grove RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Sintich RV & Trailer Park, Prince George, British Columbia

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for one night traveling through Prince George. Easy in and out to the park. As other reviewers stated, this is a mobile home park with the RV park in the back. The park is clean and kept up nicely. The laundry is convenient to the RV section and was fairly clean with the exception of trash on the floor. There was a table and chairs, reading material and an old lounge chair that did not really look clean or inviting. The office staff were friendly and helpful and nicely exchanged our American money for Canadian so we could use the laundry. Pull through sites were easy to access and level. Nice stop for a night or two. We camped at Sintich RV & Trailer Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Fort Telkwa Riverfront RV Campground, Telkwa, British Columbia

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

This campground is right off the highway, so do expect some traffic noise as other reviews mentioned. It is secure with a gate in and out. The owners are very friendly and do a good job with the overall upkeep of the campground. Our site was a back in at the end of the campground on a bluff overlooking the river. The sites are long enough for big rigs and provide a large driveway turn space. The site was somewhat level, but did have fresh poured and raked dirt on the site. Overall it was one of the nicest parks we visited in BC and a one night stay during our travels. We would definitely stay here again. Bell 2 Lodge, Bell II, British Columbia

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at Bell 2 Lodge Campground during travel from Alaska on the Cassiar Highway. A very pleasant stay and several steps above the typical RV campground found in remote areas of British Columbia. The grounds were kept up nicely and were surrounded by a woods. A nice restaurant and gas is available on site. During our stay, the camping sites were occupied by travelers like ourselves and hunters. The lodge also offers heli-sking during the winter season. WiFi is offered, but at a fee so we did not use. Only 15 amp service is offered, so be prepared. We had no problems with water or flying bugs as previously mentioned. As other reviewers mentioned, it is pricey for what you get, but in this area you are a captive audience with very little choices. We camped at Bell 2 Lodge in a Fifth Wheel.
