Quail Creek Golf Resort, Hartselle, Alabama

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

This was a great find for an overnight stop. It was so nice we plan coming back some time for a longer stay. Its very quiet with lots of places to walk with your dogs. There are only 12 pull thrus, but they are long wide sites and the WiFi worked great. The camp host drove me to the pro shop on his golf cart to register and gave me a nice tour and brief history. He said the owner is talking about adding another 12 sites and maybe some spots up on the hill in the woods. We're self contained so I didn't use the restrooms or check out the laundry. This is a real gem in the rough.

If the camp host is not there to drive you to the pro shop to register, drive straight past the camping area, past the motel and golf course to the rear and drive around the cedar tree and park to register. Plenty of room for big rigs towing. We camped at Quail Creek Golf Resort in a Motorhome.

Grandpa's Farm Campground, Richmond, Indiana

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for three nights while visiting the Dayton, OH area to see the Wright Brother's history. The park consists of predominately seasonal residents. We arrived on a Thursday night and were escorted to a pull thru site parallel to IN 227. Quite a bit of traffic all day, but it slowed at night. By Friday the park filled up with the permanent residents and they parked where ever they could around their sites. We were planning to leave early Sunday morning, but had to wait until full light, so we could navigate around the parked cars. The place was okay for the three nights we stayed. The pull thrus seemed to be reserved for transients. Some people pulled their campers in backwards due to the way the lots were set up for the grass and fire pits. One thing that concerned us were these trees everywhere that were either buckeyes or horse chestnuts whose fruit kept falling and made a loud bang when it hit someone's camper. Luckily we were not under any of these trees. I walked my dogs each morning. I had to be careful of the fallen nuts, but the park was level enough. There's a nice creek in the back of the park too. Overall it was an okay place to stay for hour purposes. We camped at Grandpa's Farm Campground in a Motorhome.

Whispering Hills RV Park, Georgetown, Kentucky

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed in a premium pull-thru site that had a large concrete slab, a table that sat eight, and a glider swing. The park was well maintained and cared for. The check in process was efficient and we were escorted to our site. My only negatives are there were no dog poop stations and the dumpsters were not convenient to where we were staying. We ended up taking our dog poop bags and garbage with us to our next stop. We will be back and stay a few days next time. We stayed one night in a 45 foot motor home towing. We camped at Whispering Hills RV Park in a Motorhome.

Watch out for the water hook up. It is in the gravel and low to the ground so it may be hard to see.

RedRock RV Park, Island Park, Idaho

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

Thankfully Grizzly in West Yellowstone was sold out or we never would have found this place. The sites were big enough and fairly level. The site width was massive. IThe laundry room was spotless! The views and surrounding meadows were spectacular. And the staff were pleasant and helpful. Only 21 miles to the west entrance and so peaceful and quiet. We highly recommend! We camped at RedRock RV Park in a Motorhome.

Atlanta South RV Resort , Mcdonough, Georgia

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed overnight. Site was long enough for our rig and tow. Internet worked fine. Staff was friendly and helpful. Good enough for an overnight without having to unhook. Call ahead. The roads were a bit snug in spots, but navigable. We camped at Atlanta South RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Timberland Acres RV Park, Trenton, Maine

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

We wanted to stay at a park fairly close to Acadia NP. We found some that were very expensive and looked a bit crowded.

Timberland Acres RV Park was convenient to Acadia and very affordable. They honor our vets by offering a military discount! Our site was a very long level pull thru in the back. There were no pesky trees to contend with and we never heard the road noise.

We definitely recommend this place and if we find ourselves in the area again we will stay here. We camped at Timberland Acres RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Much more affordable campsite on the Trenton side of the bridge. Prices go up substantially as you cross the bridge, but those parks aren't really that much closer to Acadia NP. The sites in the back (190's) are huge and it is very quiet. The staff in the office are very friendly too!!!
