Pine Island RV Park, Karnack, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is a delightful little park. Very clean from the grounds to the bathhouse. New owners are really working hard to make it this way. And they are very friendly. Very quiet. Each site has a BBQ furnished. Plenty of OTA TV. There is a restaurant just across the road, otherwise, pack everything you need as the closest town, Marshall, is about a 25 minute drive. We'll stop again. We camped at Pine Island RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

This is a very quiet place near Caddo Lake. A place to get away from it all and just relax. There are some excursions like a swamp tour. Other than that, bring your own entertainment.

Munising Tourist Park Campground, Munising, Michigan

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Lots of sand in the restrooms but they got cleaned everyday. Very roomy in the area we were in, lakefront. Easy to get around. Rained hard one day, drainage was an issue in some areas of the park. We were OK. Staff very helpful. We had to have some mail sent here and they were prompt with delivery. We camped at Munising Tourist Park Campground in a Motorhome.

City of Houghton RV Park, Houghton, Michigan

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Full hook ups on the river. Nice site. Restrooms are shared with nearby park. Not the best set up. No showers. No dogs allowed in the park nearby, kind of inconvenient. Tight getting into and out of the spot with my motorhome, but doable. We camped at City of Houghton RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Asphalt parking lot, but that was advertised. Construction next door was loud at 7AM. Great location. Close to downtown. Great view of the aerial bridge. Get the boat schedule and watch the big ones come in and the bridge go up. We camped at Lakehead Boat Basin in a Motorhome.

There is so much to do near Grand Marais, double the length of your planned stay. Gunflint Trail for hiking and kayaking, multiple locations. We saw two moose on Ball Club Lake while kayaking. Day trips to nearby state parks is a must, Cagney and Tettegouche are a must. Walk around the town, plenty to see.

Burlington Bay Campground, Two Harbors, Minnesota

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

There is a new section of the park. Great sites. Tiered so that all have a view of the bay. New restrooms/showers were great. Spacious sites. We were there in a motorhome. Our spot was a pull in so that we faced the bay with a view. Well set up. Plenty of room. Reservations during the summer are a must, call early. We camped at Burlington Bay Campground in a Motorhome.

Be sure to see both sides of the Pigeon River Falls. The Canadian side will get you closer to the falls and has great hiking trails. The American side has easy access and great head on shot of the falls. Spectacular site.

Happy Land Campground, Kakabeka Falls, Ontario

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Nice place to stay for a night or a week. Large grassy area available to run the dog. She loved it. Easy to get around in it. There are great paths for hiking or biking through the adjacent woods. That was worth it, but it is very close to Kakabeka Falls. That's the real gem. We camped at Happy Land Campground in a Motorhome.

Thunder Bay KOA, Shuniah, Ontario

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Nice place to stay for a short time. We were a long way from the showers and there was a lot of dust around. When it rained that turned to mud, but all was navigable. Nice laundry. Advertise having cable TV but not at all spots and not at the 'full hookups' spot we had. Little disappointing. Big sites, plenty of room for the toad. We camped at Thunder Bay KOA in a Motorhome.

Supposed to have cable TV but didn't work. The help were just kids who didn't know much about it. But that should not take too much away from the stay. Very nice site on Penn Lake. Quiet. We camped at Penn Lake Park Campground in a Motorhome.

This was our first stop on the Lake Superior Circle Tour and a great way to start the journey. Everything was clean.
