About 1972 camaro

We have been camping a long time both my wife & I. We are what you would call 'snowbirds' wintering a few cold months from Michigan going to the warm sunny state of Florida, we have met a lot of nice people & campers along the way. Our current set up is a 2010 32' Laredo TT pulling it with a 2016 Chevy HD Silverado.

Southern Comfort RV Resort, Florida City, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

When we checked in they gave us a site but it had a truck parked on it,, called the office they said to just pick one nearby. Good location & close the Keys, Park is not that quiet with bikes going in & out, Tiki bar on site has loud music on weekends till midnight doing karoke. Old laundry room, sites are tight & hard to get in to other vehicles in the way. Lots of snowbirds. Probably won't be back. We camped at Southern Comfort RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Suwannee River Hideaway Campground, Old Town, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Like others have said this is a quiet campground & off the beaten path. Owners were friendly & brought you to your site. Small town of Old Town is about 3 miles away with limited shopping. There is a 1300' wooden walkway to the Shwannie river. Cable is fairly good, Wi-Fi only near the clubhouse & can go out sometimes, all in all not bad for what you get. The have new owners & are putting in new sites with upgrades. We camped at Suwannee River Hideaway Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Waterways Campground, Cheboygan, Michigan

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Close to downtown & shopping, long nearby bike/walking path, park is clean & well kept with a friendly staff to greet you. We stayed near the end of the season so only a few campers where there. Docks on the river to watch boats go by or fish off from. If you own a boat they have a launch & a place to dock it. Some road noise from M-33, M-27 but not bad. We camped at Waterways Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Lakeview Campsite, Ludington, Michigan

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Our lot site was decent with some shade. Water supply was a ways off on our site needing extra hose. There are several stairs leading down to the upper portion of Hamlin lake, not much of a view of lake even if you are on the front row, they have a dock to fish off from if you want & a boat ramp too, pool was nice, updated shower was good, there are play areas around the park for kids, 1 mile long packed dirt road to the camp was not too bad seen worse at other places. Gravel road in & out of camp can be dusty at times, park is quiet most of the time, friendly people at check in, very small camp store ok. Dump station not the best, tight to get in & out of with our 33 footer. We camped at Lakeview Campsite in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Park is about 10-12 miles north east from downtown Ludington & the beaches on lake Michigan, lots to do & see while there, good food also.

The Badger car ferry docks downtown Ludington & runs twice daily from Mi. to Wi. is there. Lighthouse & city beaches are nice. Many good places to eat & shop downtown, Walmart & big box stores are just outside of town.

Mackinaw Mill Creek Camping, Mackinaw City, Michigan

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This is a large place like others have said. Book early if you want a water front or Big Mac bridge view during peak summer dates. Lots of good paved roads to ride your bike on, camp store well stocked, friendly staff. This was our second stay here. Close to downtown & they have a free shuttle service from the park to the docks if going to Mackinaw island. We camped at Mackinaw Mill Creek Camping in a Travel Trailer.

Road Runner Travel Resort, Fort Pierce, Florida

Date of Stay: February, 2016 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed for three nights & somewhat glad it was only three nights. Our site was somewhat dirty with it not being cleaned off from pine tree cones, dirt, etc. Was a decent sized lot near the back & was good for short term stays. One thing, it is close to shopping & the beach. There are a lot of French speaking people staying there & somewhat keep to themselves. Camp store is well stocked & they have a restaurant there also. The staff was friendly upon arrival, but parking to check in can be confusing. We camped at Road Runner Travel Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Whisper Creek RV Resort (55+ park), LaBelle, Florida

Date of Stay: January, 2016 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

This is one of the nicest places we have stayed & have already booked for Jan. 2017. The staff was warm & friendly helping you get set up both coming & departing, lots to do here with daily activities. The comfort stations are second to none as far as being clean & fairly new, the sites are clean & well laid out for big rigs in the Glen area of the park. Pool was great also with a very nice activity center. You will meet a lot of nice people here. There is a new Walmart coming in nearby with several good restaurants nearby; traffic is not a problem in Labelle. We camped at Whisper Creek RV Resort (55+ park) in a Travel Trailer.
