Hickory Haven Campground, Keokuk, Iowa

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

The park is nice--has trees and character. The people who run it are helpful if asked. Their WiFi is awful and not park-wide. I couldn't use my cell phone at all. The roads are narrow. Dirt road to get into the park. We camped at Hickory Haven Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

York KAMPground, York, Nebraska

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $13.00
Overall Rating:

This is the ugliest park I have been in--it is only 2 years old but is poorly designed--too many rows and too many narrow sites per row. Not one growing tree or bush in the whole park and not even many weeds. I found 3 large pieces of concrete with rebar embedded being used as road gravel. The showers have only hot water and are push for a minute's water. The laundry/bath building reminds me of farm worker sites--ugly.... There is one person there part of each day and she tries. OK for one nite but not good for long-term. Watch for rebar. We camped at York KAMPground in a Fifth Wheel.

Ozark View RV Park, Omaha, Arkansas

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $13.00
Overall Rating:

The park is beautiful--lots of trees, flowers, views. The owner is so busy that it's hard to get his attention, but he does what is needed. The roads and pond needed some work when I was there. Nice hikes around the park and surrounding areas. Close to Branson, MO and Harrison AR. E/W/S all worked well. Backing up the long exit driveway was difficult at my site. We camped at Ozark View RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Benchmark RV Park, Meridian, Mississippi

Date of Stay: December, 2017 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

I do a lot of work on the internet, so I always ask if Wi-Fi is good (or at least OK) They said theirs was good--but it is the 2nd worse of the 50+ RV Parks I've stayed at. It goes down 3-4 times an hour and sometimes I couldn't get on at all. The sites are very basic and full of mud with even a little rain. The bathrooms were fairly clean. They say they have water, but they turn it off to the sites if it is going to freeze. There is rarely anyone in the office or around the park--there is no service. They had my mail for over a day before they got it to me. I would never stay here again. Really sorry I stayed here a month. We camped at Benchmark RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Okaw Valley Kampground, Brownstown, Illinois

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

The park is pretty; nice pond, lots of trees and grass. There is a pool, but it is always full of kids, so never used it. The owners are nice and helpful. They will pick up and fill your propane. Lots of birds, a huge fish, lots of fire flies, etc. Near I-70--road and R/R noise. I stayed in a less expensive site--basic, but level and table and fire ring. More work needs to be done on the bathrooms and laundry, but they are OK. The store has lots of snacks and essentials. Laundry only $2 total. We camped at Okaw Valley Kampground in a Fifth Wheel.

Lamplight Lane RV Resort at Glen Oaks (formerly Glen Oaks RV Park), Waynesville, Missouri

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $13.00
Overall Rating:

The couple who own the park have been there only 8 months. They are working hard to get it fixed up. There are lots of things to do. Hopefully the bathrooms have been fixed up in June. The couple is very nice and the park is well located. We didn't flood when a lot of the area did. Some road noise. Will be a great park in a year. We camped at Lamplight Lane RV Resort at Glen Oaks (formerly Glen Oaks RV Park) in a Fifth Wheel.
