Waterloo Recreation Area, Chelsea, Michigan

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful park. Easy flat paved streets. Dirt road about half mile long to get to park entrance so vehicles filthy when coming and going. Long drive to Ann Arbor. Put@1000 miles on car in 12 days visiting friends in and around A2. Camp host and staff excellent. Very difficult to find camping around A2. We camped at Waterloo Recreation Area in a Motorhome.

Potato Creek State Park, North Liberty, Indiana

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

Big, beautiful park with plenty of space. Stayed during busy weekend and had the worst site due to slope. They acknowledged it needed to be fixed. Excellent place to camp, however. We camped at Potato Creek State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Countryside driving a plus: winding roads, farms and forest, plenty of water features. In Pocahontas visit the twin square and the nearby St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. Absolutely beautiful. One of the tons featured stops. If the church is secured just visit the office and someone will let you in. Enjoy.

Lake Charles State Park, Powhatan, Arkansas

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

This heavily forested park is reached by a five mile drive along the Black River in the Ozarks. There is no parking at the entrance check-in for large rigs, well anything over ten feet and/or pulling a trailer. The staff are friendly and helpful. The park is well maintained and all sites look easy to get in to. Our site was 99% level, spacious with best views. We camped at Lake Charles State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The camp staff were helpful with directions and recommendations to nearby attractions. The town of Pocahontas is small but busy. For those interested, the historic Catholic Church is a must see. Ask the staff for dining recommendations. Fishing main attraction at the park. Driving countryside is an adventure.

Aux Arc COE , Ozark, Arkansas

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

I am a frequent visitor to this park. Usually it is well mowed and trimmed. First mowing in May and contractor let much undone. Views to river are not kept clear. This visit I notice many more fishing campers. First thoughts when arriving that the place has turned into a fishcamp. Camp host very helpful and friendly. I value COE parks. Let's keep them beautiful.

t far away. We camped at Aux Arc COE in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Western Arkansas is beautiful. The namesake river, surrounding mountains, wineries, Subiaco Monestary, St. Mary Church on St. Mary's mountain, three state resort parks nearby, Ft. Smith nearby ..... I could go on and on. A countryside driving dream. Plenty of photographic opportunities. Active train traffic and working lock and dam. Fish, fish and more fish.

Copper Breaks State Park, Quanah, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Quiet, underutilized for my benefit, happy to say. Rural and somewhat remote, peaceful and restful. Visited previously, we go out of our way to stay here. A great place to unwind. Today there are five times more campers than I have seen here before, and the park is quiet! Of course we love the voices of happy children! Lot spacing is spacious with a sunny/open exposure. Site surface is gravel and grass, featuring a fire ring, picnic table and patio. We camped at Copper Breaks State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Route 287 is a driving dream. Near Memphis is a rest/picnic stop that is a must see - it's theme is a railroad depot. For those looking for rural, remote and quiet camping, yet excellent facilities, this is the place. Small museum in park office and famous Texas longhorn herd for visiting. Fishing and swimming in the lake. Equestrian facilities.

Meteor Crater RV Park, Winslow, Arizona

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Every park owner should look at this park to see how to lay out for space. This place is wide, level and easily accessible. Noise from I-40 is very minimal. Landscaped nicely. Well staffed, fuel and grocery, professional in look and operation. Meteor Crator natural wonder down the road. We camped at Meteor Crater RV Park in a Motorhome.

North Ranch - Escapees Rainbow Park, Congress, Arizona

Date of Stay: March, 2016 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

This is an Escapes park, our first experience with this campground and a pleasant one. We will return here in the winter. The Escapes members are welcoming and helpful, so much the opposite at the previous campground we stayed at in nearby Wickenburg. Site sizes are fairly large. The sites are sunny and open. The site surface is gravel and there was a picnic table at our site. We camped at North Ranch - Escapees Rainbow Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Congress is in the desert with beautiful mountain views. Open valley driving on great roads and mountain drive to Prescott five or six miles away. Surprise, AZ forty to fifty miles south (suburb of greater Phoenix). Rodeo heaven during the winter months, so that means cowboys/cowgirls on the roads with their trucks and trailers in great numbers. Terrific cowboy museum in Wickenburg.

Horspitality RV Resort, Wickenburg, Arizona

Previous negative comments are correct. Stayed here five months, far too long. Recommend short stay and do not get into deposit situation with them. Any negative or problem with owners brings out extreme reactions. We camped at Horspitality RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Wickenburg is a nice village with nice people. Beautiful landscape. Worth the visit to the area. Check out Congress and camp at the North Ranch RV Park. Quiet, beautiful mountain views, 10 miles outside Wickenburg.
