Lakeview RV Resort, Houston, Texas

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

It's a professionally run park with adequate facilities. I travel full-time and I would rank this park in the top 25% of parks we've stayed in over the last 2 years. We camped at Lakeview RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Town & Country Camping & RV Park, Sikeston, Missouri

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Good spot to park just off of I-55. Fairly open park with good utilities. Site was a little short for my rig and tow. Lots of long-term sites. Big thing is DON'T RELY ON GARMIN GPS! My Garmin 760 RV routed me west from the interstate when the park is East. Call the park or use some other nav-aid like Google maps. Once you are going the correct way (East) the park is easy to find. We camped at Town & Country Camping & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Camp Lakewood Campground & RV Park, Effingham, Illinois

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

OK campground. Roads are a little tight for a 45' with a tow, but manageable. Too wooded for sat to work at my site and cable did not work. WiFi was reasonably reliable. Main reason for the review is to say DON'T RELY ON GARMIN GPS. My Garmin RV760 routed me thru town to a vacant lot in a rundown residential area. The RV park is actually a couple of miles away! We camped at Camp Lakewood Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

RV Express RV Park, Marshfield, Missouri

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Nothing wrong with the park. It's just as described: new, clean, no frills. Fine for an overnight. As far as easy to get to, well sorta. The problem is that their website's directions for people going eastbound on I44. The directions say exit 100 then left then left into the park. That is wrong! You should exit 100 then RIGHT then a 1st traffic light turn left then immediately left onto the street that comes in at the back of the park. Look at a sat map and you can see how to do it. The park is on the South side of I44 behind a Holiday Inn Express. We camped at RV Express RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Navigating a 45' Class A with a tow was a little tight. Not really a problem but you want to pay attention to your setup.

Elk City / Clinton KOA, Canute, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Watch out for overhead clearance due to overhanging trees. I missed hitting a branch with the awning cover on the passenger side of my 45' bus by about two inches. Otherwise everything was satisfactory. Really friendly staff. We camped at Elk City / Clinton KOA in a Motorhome.

Route 66 museum is fun. If you want a good steak try the Portobello Grill. Saturday night prime rib special. Perfectly cooked, very tender and really delicious. The actual town of Elk City is about 15 miles further west on I-40

Golden Pond RV Park, Shirley, Arkansas

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here for a week over Labor Day for family get-together. Since all the family is in and around Greer's Ferry it was perfect for us. The owners are a very nice young family who bought the park fairly recently and they take a lot of pride in it. They are constantly upgrading the facilities so it is getting better every day. All hookups were fine (water pressure was about 65 psi). I said I was in site D1 and D2. They gave me the site next to mine for free so I wouldn't have a close neighbor! The only thing that keeps it from being even better is the one thing out of their control. It's that the park is a little remote, it's about a 25 minute drive to Clinton for supplies. Last thing is DO NOT rely on GPS. it will route you south on 16 and it is a narrow, twisty, hilly road. There is an alternate that is WAY better - call for directions. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. We camped at Golden Pond RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There is a small grocery store called Craven's a few miles down Hwy 16 towards Greer's Ferry that has really excellent quality meats. I bought a prime rib roast and a porterhouse and they were excellent.

Frog Hollow Campground RV Park, Grenada, Mississippi

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Just stayed one night but it was great. Easy off and on I-55. Easy to maneuver through. Everything worked great. Good water pressure, steady 50 Amp. The best thing is the owner gentleman. For reasons I'd rather not discuss (my stupid mistake) when I got ready to leave Wednesday morning, my toad battery was dead. So I got that recharged and then tried to start it but no Bueno. Turns out it was out of gas. (Ok I confess that I left it running all night. Told you it was stupid.) Called the owner and he ran over with a gas can and gave me enough to get it started. Now that's good service! We camped at Frog Hollow Campground RV Park in a Motorhome.

Fox Den Acres, New Stanton, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

The spot I had was a pull-thru and as others have said, it's basically a field with hookups. That is perfect for me as I'm a full-timer driving a 45 foot Class A with a toad and am not looking for a "back to nature" camping experience. What I value is water, sewer, electricity, clear view for Directv satellite and wifi that works. This place hits all of my needs. Speaking of wifi, this is the best wifi I've had in at least a month.

Main reason for the review is to stress DO NOT RELY ON GPS to get here. My fully up to date Garmin was trying to send me the complete opposite way! Use the directions on the website once you take Exit 75 off the interstate. We camped at Fox Den Acres in a Motorhome.

Brunswick Beaches Camping Resort, Sunset Beach, North Carolina

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here 3 nights on the way to Wilmington. Roads and sites are gravel in pretty good shape. Sites are reasonably level and very spacious. I was driving a 45 foot long Motorhome and had no problem maneuvering. All utilities worked great. Water pressure was 60 psi and the WiFi had recently been upgraded. It was the best service I've had in weeks. Everyone was very friendly. It is a short drive to the beach, but the beach is lovely. This park is also really quiet day and night. I would stay here again. We camped at Brunswick Beaches Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The Backstreet Cafe in the Village Center strip center just off the road leading to the beach is pretty good but the surprising star was a place in Calabash called 'Mmm...Que Rico'. It is a family-owned Peruvian rotisserie chicken place. The owners are a couple, he's from Peru and she's from Argintina. No kidding, this is the best roasted chicken I have ever had. Inexpensive, friendly, good food and spotless. If you are nearby you should absolutely eat there.

Wandering Oaks RV Resort, Ocala, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2016 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

The site itself is OK, water ran (low pressure), electricity stayed on, sewer drained. My main reason for bad review is that I did not encounter one single person who was not unpleasant. We pulled in with a reservation to find nobody in the office (4:30pm on Sunday) so we found a spot to park. Around 5:30 came across a couple of very unfriendly characters who turned out to be the maintenance guy and the front desk lady's husband, who I assume are work campers but I don't know. I asked if the knew the wifi password since we were not able to check in and they asked what site we parked in and directed us to check in as the front desk lady was back in the office. Went in to register and the front desk lady was surly and unfriendly. I left the towed car in back of the coach and the next morning the lady who was staying in the 5er next to us snarled "you know you're parked in my yard" so I moved the car to in front of the Motorhome. All in all, a park full of grumpy, angry, unfriendly people who have never even heard of politeness. I have literally never felt more unwelcome at an RV park. Site itself was not level and wifi sucked. We camped at Wandering Oaks RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Close to Ocala. If you can stand the crappy customer service, a good location but Silver Springs State Park would be a much better choice if you can do without sewer hookups.

Lake Osprey RV Resort, Elberta, Alabama

Date of Stay: January, 2016 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Nice people, great facilities. Lots of organized activities. Would be hard to find fault with the facilities. Would recommend to anyone with a high-line Motorhome or 5th wheel as they do have a 10-year old coach limit.

Lot spacing was spacious with sunny/open exposure. Site surface is a concrete pad. We camped at Lake Osprey RV Resort in a Motorhome.
