USA RV Resorts, San Leon, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2018 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

Nice fairly new park facilities, very neat & tidy appearance, friendly staff. Sites are FHU, most are drive thru, level on wide concrete pad, with narrow grass patch between. No picnic table or fire pit was disappointing. Really enjoyed hot tub and nice looking pool (but a bit cool to use). Not many trees or shrubs, feels like big concrete parking lot. No area for kids to play. Deep potholes at park entrance, but these can be fixed in time. We camped at USA RV Resorts in a Motorhome.

Outdoor Adventure & Campground, Bethel, Maine

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

We spent 3.5 months at this park as Workampers earlier this year; nightly rate reflects Passport America. The 25 RV sites are a mix of open/partial/full shade, on gravel or grass, most pull-thru with long-term sites back-in. All have water & electric (20/30A or 50A), and most have sewer. Dump station available. Roads within area are gravel, and accessible for big rigs. The 12 tent sites are in separate forested area. All sites have campfire ring & picnic table. There is also a group site for large gatherings. There is a bathhouse with two showers on each side. It was refurbished this year with new flooring, paint & lighting. Staff keeps the bathrooms very clean. Owners are very friendly and try to accommodate guest requests. Campground is part of a facility that also features river trip outfitter and gem sluice. Easy to arrange for canoes/kayaks/tubes to float down Androscoggin River, and then just walk back to your campsite. We camped at Outdoor Adventure & Campground in a Motorhome.

Lassen RV Resort (Lassen Pines RV Resort), McArthur, California

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the Lassen RV Resort during the first week of October, 2016. The sites were huge (especially the pull-through ones) and, with only 6 of the 44 sites being occupied due to it being off-season, it felt like we practically had the park to ourselves. The park is not on a main road, so it was very quiet and the stargazing at night was amazing. The owner is a personable and fantastic host. He escorted us to our site to make sure it was to our liking, and stayed to ensure hookups were uneventful before leaving us to settle in.

The only drawback to this place is there is no Wifi except at the pool (which was closed for the season) and office. Cell signal was spotty at best - I had zero Sprint service, and my husband's T-Mobile was intermittent and weak.

However, if you are looking to disconnect and relax, then this is the place for you. We will certainly be back. We camped at Lassen RV Resort (Lassen Pines RV Resort) in a Motorhome.

Take a walk on the trail to the edge of the park as the view of the valley and far off mountains is great, especially at sunset!

Bellingham RV Park, Bellingham, Washington

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Bellingham RV Park is best suited for single overnight, or park & fly scenario given it is very close to local airport. Sites are level on gravel but very close together with no trees/shrubs to separate neighbors. Grass was near dead, and some picnic tables were in dire need of repair. Wifi is only adequate for light duty. No pool or other amenities to boast. Do not plan second visit. We camped at Bellingham RV Park in a Motorhome.

Alpine View RV Park, Leavenworth, Washington

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

Park is on the small side (~30 sites) and seems a bit dated, however there are a few sites for large rigs with 50amp service. Plenty of shade for inner sites due to tall Ponderosa Pine trees. Sites are mostly level and well maintained. Office staff were friendly and helpful. Located ~3/4 mile to downtown Leavenworth, and grocery store nearby just across highway. Park has free WiFi (2.4 & 5GHz), with strong signal and sufficient bandwidth for smooth streaming.

Unfortunately, park is right against HWY2 which is a busy road with noticeable traffic noise but easy to get into. Single bath house was clean but in need of refurbishment.

Park location was driving factor for selection, but there are other parks in area which might be better fit next time. We camped at Alpine View RV Park in a Motorhome.
