White Mountain Nat'l Forest / Dolly Copp Campground, Gorham, New Hampshire

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

Electric and water hookups have been added to many sites (30 amp at some and 50 amp at some). There are new restroom buildings with flush toilets. Renovations are continuing to add more electric/water hookups. The shower facilities in the restrooms are not yet completed. Work on adding a dump station is underway. Our site was quite large and very level. It was beautiful and quiet. The electric and water hookup worked well. We camped at White Mountain Nat'l Forest / Dolly Copp Campground in a Motorhome.

Cold River Campground (formerly Waltons Campground), Eddington, Maine

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice, helpful and friendly owners who directed us to our large, shady pull-thru site. All hookups worked well. Very good WIFI. Good cable TV until cable company made changes that eliminated the cable. But there were lots of OTA channels available. Laundry/rec building was clean with 2 washers and 2 dryers, a TV, a large table, comfy chairs and lots of books and puzzles. The campground has a nice pool, small store and sells propane. There is short hiking trail near the back of the campground. In addition to RV sites there are several really nice tent sites. Sites are back from the road so there is little road noise. It is quite quiet and peaceful at night. The roads within the park are gravel and easy to maneuver although there are a few potholes. The grass is kept neatly mowed. Good Sam discount is available. We camped at Cold River Campground (formerly Waltons Campground) in a Motorhome.

Camping Rouillard, Lac-à-la-Tortue, Shawinigan, Quebec

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

This campground is along the road around the Lac-a-la-Tortue. This is the only road to the campground. Because the road was under construction there was a long detour to get to the campground. In places the detour was one lane on dirt and very rough. I would not recommend staying at this campground until the road is completed and open. The campground is quite large with many permanent/seasonal sites. The area for short term stays was an open field (no trees) close to the front of the campground. The full hookups worked well. We had a nice picnic table but the fire ring was old and rusty. There was a small restroom near our site with only one toilet and one shower. The best feature of this campground was the access to the lake which was reached by walking across the road. There is a small beach with a bench and several paddleboats. We camped at Camping Rouillard in a Motorhome.

Camping Lac-Lafontaine, Saint Jerome, Quebec

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

This large campground is located in Saint Jerome just 50 minutes from Montreal. A shopping center with Walmart and other stores and restaurants is a 5 minute drive away. The campground has many permanent/seasonal sites. The short-term area is toward the back of the campground and had many large trees. Our site was spacious and partly shaded. We paid a $10 refundable deposit for a key to the toilet/shower/laundry building which was kept locked. It had 3 toilets, 4 showers, 2 washers and 2 dryers. The washers/dryers cost $1.25 each. Everything was very clean. The washers/dryers worked well. We camped at Camping Lac-Lafontaine in a Motorhome.

Camping Laurentien, Val David, Quebec

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

Our full hookup site was down a hill close to the entrance. It was fairly level and backed up to a stream. The site was quite wide with a table and firepit. We looked out on a forested mountain. The entrance to the campground is monitored closely by the office and we appreciated the fact that you must present your receipt to gain entrance since the campground is close to the road and a restaurant. We camped at Camping Laurentien in a Motorhome.

Algonquin Trails Camping Resort, Dwight, Ontario

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

Camp sites are located among tall pine trees so there is a lot of shade at all times of the day. It felt like were camping in a big forest. It was a bit tight getting into the site with our 36 foot motorhome but really no problem. There were nice trees between our site and our neighbors. The washroom facilities were older but clean. It took quite a long time to get hot water in the showers. The WIFI at our site was excellent. We appreciated the quiet, natural environment. We camped at Algonquin Trails Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Champlain Tent, RV & Trailer Park, North Bay, Ontario

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This is an old park. There were three electrical outlets at our site but only one of them worked properly. Only 30 amp service was available. The WIFI was not working initially but was quite good when it was fixed. The owners were very helpful in fixing the problems. On the positive side, the park is in a very nice location. Next to the park is a very nice city park with a beach, a boat ramp, playground for kids, and a fenced dog park with separate areas for large and small dogs. A walkway connects the park with the city park. We camped at Champlain Tent, RV & Trailer Park in a Motorhome.

Summer Breeze Campground, Iron Mountain, Michigan

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Lovely, well-maintained campground. Owners were polite and helpful. We were escorted to a long pull through site with water and 50 amp electric hookups. It was level and had plenty of shade. The WIFI was very good. The restrooms were exceptionally clean and attractive. The laundry room had 2 washers and 2 dryers with very reasonable prices. A couple of comfortable chairs and a book exchange were conveniently located in the same room. Although located close to a highway there was little noise. Very quiet at night. We camped at Summer Breeze Campground in a Motorhome.

Mesa Campground, Mimbres, New Mexico

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

Nice quiet National Forest campground overlooking Lake Roberts with some water and electric hookups. There is a dump station. The host was very helpful and gave us information about the Gila Cave Dwellings National Monument nearby. The surrounding area is heavily forested and there was a prescribed burn taking place which caused smoke in the campground when we were there. There is a path down to the lake from the campground. We camped at Mesa Campground in a Motorhome.

Drive up Hwy 35 and 15 to Gila Cave Dwellings National Monument and take a 1 hour loop hike to see the cave dwellings. Avoid Hwy 15 if you are driving a big rig - it is very narrow with sharp turns.

Storrie Lake State Park, Las Vegas, New Mexico

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

Nice campground with views of the lake. There are water/electric sites and water only sites. Hot showers and flush toilets are near the south campground. Sites in south campground are pull-throughs and each site has a shelter over a picnic table and a fire pit. Garbage cans are located near each site. There are no full hookups and the dump is closed so be sure to arrive with empty tanks. As mentioned previously the entrance gate is closed at 5PM. We camped at Storrie Lake State Park in a Motorhome.

Mountain View RV Ranch, Amado, Arizona

Date of Stay: February, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Park is located along the frontage road of I-19 so there is some road noise. The sites are gravel with a concrete patio. Trees and bushes made parking to accommodate doors and slides tricky. Full hookups but only 30 amp service. WIFI was excellent. Cable TV included. Laundry machines were new and worked well. We camped at Mountain View RV Ranch in a Motorhome.

Winter Haven RV Park (55+ park), Tucson, Arizona

Date of Stay: January, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

This beautifully maintained park is a separate section of Tucson Meadows Mobile Home Park. All of the amenities of Tucson Meadows are available to guests in the RV part. There is a library with books and puzzles. There is a church service on Sunday from Nov through April. The people we met were very friendly. There is an individual mailbox for each site. Packages are delivered to your site. Cable is supplied through COX and requires a box to connect. A walking path is directly accessible through a gate. The views of the mountains from our site were lovely. We recommend you make reservations far in advance. We camped at Winter Haven RV Park (55+ park) in a Motorhome.

Terry Bison Ranch Resort, Cheyenne, Wyoming

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

This park is very near I-25 and south of town. We heard loud traffic noise continuously night and day. The full hook-up RV sites are gravel, closely spaced without any shade. Some have picnic tables. The water/electric sites are grass with some shade trees. There is no WIFI currently available at the sites reportedly due to storm damage. The restrooms and showers are very nice and clean which lots of hot water. The best feature of this park is the many animals: horses, donkeys, ostriches, alpacas, camels, goats. Most of the bison are far away but there were a few close to the road when we drove in. We camped at Terry Bison Ranch Resort in a Motorhome.

Lake Darling State Park, Brighton, Iowa

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $11.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice park on the shores of Lake Darling. There are full hook-up sites ($14), electric sites($11), and no hook-up sites ($6). We stayed in an electric site; it had 50 amp service. The campground is on a hillside so most sites have a lake view. The campground is far enough from the highway so that highway noise is not heard. We camped at Lake Darling State Park in a Motorhome.
