This park is located on the Comal River. There are sites on the river and up on the hill. Wifi was great on the hill, didn't try it by the river. Cable tv was great. Road conditions are terrible. All the employees were amazing, except for the asst manager (older white man). We asked for a picnic table, one was delivered asap. One night late, we started laundry and next day, went to dry it and the laundry was accidentally locked, so we couldn't get in. The maintenance man dried our laundry and folded and put it at our site while we were off at the river. One lady in the office is super nice as well as the other lady in the office. They had just redone the restrooms and showers and they were excellent.
There is an awesome pavilion on the hill over looking the river. We really enjoyed sitting there and relaxing. They do have some permanent residents. We meet some of them and they were really nice. I would say that weather and the older man were our only issues. If you want to do the Comal trip, be sure to get back on the river by 4-4:30, a few minutes late and you are floating again. The weather was terrible the entire week we were here, and I would have appreciated if that grumpy old man would have just been 15 minutes more flexible. Other than that, we will stay again, will avoid his non customer service self and enjoy another trip. If you rent the pavilion, they have a great smoker that you can use. The washer and dryers are very convenient as well. Get a pull thru site if you have a long trailer, we had to move the last night and had issues backing into spot with our 30 ft trailer. We camped at Landa RV & Campgrounds in a Travel Trailer.
You can rent tubes right at the park and get in the river to float there as well. There is a shuttle to take you back to the park. Excellent value.

Amazing park, located where the Colorado River goes into the Gulf. Amazing people, excellent programs at the Nature Center. Staff goes above and beyond to help. Each site is washed down and cleaned after each guest leaves. Lighted fishing piers. Take all the groceries, etc., you need as stores are about 50 miles away in Bay City. We have been camping here for years. Very quiet down here. Love, love, love it here. Lot spacing is spacious with sunny/open exposure. Site surface is a concrete pad and features a picnic table. We camped at Matagorda Bay Nature Park in a Travel Trailer.
Great for families and anyone that likes to fish.

Membership park that has been mismanaged for yrs. Both pools are in disrepair. Electrical is being replaced section by section, one section a yr. Wiring is 40 plus yrs old, so not many 50 amp sites. Roads are in terrible condition except where they have replaced the electrical. Trailers messed up due to issues with power poles. Just a shame that the beautiful park has been run down so badly over the yrs, just a shame. It is a perfect location on the lake with amazing wildlife and views. All the facilities need to be painted and spruced up. There was a 40 plus yr old folding chair out by the Jacuzzi for days and days that needed to be thrown away. We camped at Marina Village Resort in a Travel Trailer.
