Kettle Moraine State Forest - Southern Unit, Eagle, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: November, 2015 - $17.00
Overall Rating:

Ottawa Lake - We have camped here several times over the last few years, and with the exception of our first time at this Campground, it has been very pleasant. Staff at the park are attentive, and keep areas clean. Showers/bathrooms are kept clean and well stocked. Laundry facilities are available which is connected to the bathrooms, for a fee. Rangers are strict and make sure you are supposed to be where your supposed to be. Very family friendly, which they have a nice play area for children, and boat launch, and I'm to assume, a fishing dock. Very scenic areas, with some sites right along the cliff edge of the lake. Campsites are very spacious and airy with privacy. They have a newer Handicapped Cabin, so the less fortunate can enjoy the great outdoors. Some walking trails, with markers about nature along the way. Scenic drive through the Kettle Moraine States Forest. There are 3 different campgrounds within the Kettle Moraine Park, (Pinewoods, Ottawa Lake and Hickory Woods) and we always stay at Ottowa, and will continue to stay here in years to come. We camped at Kettle Moraine State Forest - Southern Unit in a Tent.

Perrot State Park, Trempealeau, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: November, 2015 - $17.00
Overall Rating:

The weekend we were here was a very busy weekend, but was quiet at the same time. The campsites were of decent size, but giving you privacy from others. Shower/bathroom houses were old, but were kept clean. The ladies room ran out of toweling and hand soap, and some people left their children's dirty diapers on the floor next to the trash bins, which has was rather unpleasant. On a good note, there are plenty of walking trails and scenic areas for picture taking. Canoe rentals are available to paddle around on the Mississippi plus there is swimming allowed (but no beach front) as one would dive in around the boat docks. Beautiful sunsets. One final statement - the speed limit is 10mph and drivers need to slow down as there are a lot of curves going around the campsites and children playing or riding bikes, and some drivers come flying around the curves much higher faster than they should. Overall, I will stay here again. Lot spacing is nearby and mostly shady. Site surface is gravel, dirt and grass; featuring a fire ring and picnic table. We camped at Perrot State Park in a Tent.

Tips for other Campers:

Climb the bluffs (looks like there are 8 trails) or just walk and see the views. If you are going to Brady's Bluff, take plenty of water as there is little breeze, which makes it a warm hike. Also, wear good shoes as the trail is not easy in some spots, but you have rest areas along the way, and beautiful views while heading to the top.
