Gila Bend KOA (formerly Augie's Quail Trail RV Park), Gila Bend, Arizona

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Not your typical KOA - WAY better. Park was not full, as the high season hasn't started yet. New owner spending a lot of time and money improving this park from updated sites to new swimming pool. This is going to be a top notch park very soon, already is worth the stop. We just stayed for one night as we were traveling. We didn't use any of the facilities but we did walk around and look at them - spotless and brand new. We would stay here again. Stayed in a long pull through that had it's own dog run. Kind of overkill on our part since we do not have pets, but it also had a propane fire ring and Bar-B-Q, comfy chairs and a nice picnic table. Great place. We camped at Gila Bend KOA (formerly Augie's Quail Trail RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Gila Bend KOA (formerly Augie's Quail Trail RV Park), Gila Bend, Arizona

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Great stop over or a good place to snowbird it appears. Stayed in a deluxe site - what a treat. Bread new facilities, very nicely done. The price seems a but high for the area, but certainly cannot say anything bad about the park itself. We would return. We camped at Gila Bend KOA (formerly Augie's Quail Trail RV Park) in a Motorhome.

OK RV Park, Holbrook, Arizona

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here to visit the Petrified Forest. Very spacious sites. A lot of room for slides and toad. Kind of a quirky layout but worked well. No cement pads, had a picnic table. Would be fine for an overnight stop or a multiple night stay. Have quite a bit of petrified wood on display. We camped at OK RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

A few places to eat within walking distance if the weather is good. No "fine dining" anywhere that we found but all places were OK. Visit Jim Gray's petrified wood "store". Info in campground brochure. Amazing. Easy drive to the Petrified Forest and Painted Desert monuments. Plan on an entire day to see them both. Two days would be better if you can.

Junction/North Llano River RV Park, Junction, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Was an overnight spot for us. Did not unhook car. Great RV park. Had a nice long pull though with a nice view of the river. There were no RV's in the spots between us and the river so that helped. A nice covered / shaded sitting area with two chairs, a picnic table and a fire pit. Perfect for sitting outside. Easy in and easy out. A Pilot right at the off ramp. Did not see any of the town as we were tired from a long day of driving. We would certainly stay here again. Probably spend more than one night as the whole setup was very nice and welcoming. We camped at Junction/North Llano River RV Park in a Motorhome.

Route 66 RV Resort, Albuquerque, New Mexico

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Just a great park for overnight or to see the city. It is a little outside of town. There are other closer parks, but certainly this one is the best of all the ones we saw. Casino very close, they have a shuttle but it only takes a few minutes to walk. Did not use any of the facilities but the clubhouse was clean and the laundry looked brand new. Hookups great, all in the right spot with no long hoses required. 2 for 1 discounts at the buffet in the casino is great Mondays and Tuesdays only I think. Buffet is certainly above average. We usually do not like them but this one was great. Would certainly stay here again. Nice views out the windshield in the pull-throughs. We camped at Route 66 RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Earp & James Hitching Post (formerly Lottie-Dell Campground), Snowville, Utah

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Great overnight spot. Long pull throughs but only 5 50 amp sites so get there early or make a reservation if you require 50 amp. This is off season so we had no issues. Beautiful restful views out the windshield. Rate was $35 dollars and as there was nobody in the office so we did not receive any discounts (there is a number you can call but was too tired to bother). My only issue with this park was that the water connection was maybe 35 feet from the motorhome. I had never seen that before. Have an extra hose so just scratched my head and used it. Probably could have parked the motorhome at the back of the space and moved the car to the front to make it work - no big deal. Would stay here again for sure if needing an overnight spot. We camped at Earp & James Hitching Post (formerly Lottie-Dell Campground) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Great diner at the off ramp about 1/2 mile from the park. Good food, great friendly service. On the corner, can't miss it. Other than that, it's an overnight only. Fuel at the exit ramp as well.

Moab KOA, Moab, Utah

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Didn't use any facilities so cannot rate. However, front wheels in the motorhome were 6 inches off the ground. No effort made to grade the park grounds at all. This is Moab, so dusty roads and desert sites are normal. No pads at all, just step down into dirt. My biggest complaint was the Wi-Fi. Stayed for a week and was spotty, but not unusual for RV parks. On day 5, we were denied access. Not just "cannot connect" but actual denial. We did not stream movies or misuse the Wi-Fi at all. Just email and a few news pages. The office was no help, didn't care I guess. We would certainly find another place next time - and there ARE other better choices for sure. Also, for some reason, a congested entry/exit which was not necessary....plenty of space. If someone was entering, then no one could exit. We camped at Moab KOA in a Motorhome.

Sugar Sand Beach RV Resort, Matlacha, Florida

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Previous reviews spot on. Not a resort, but a wonderful location right on the water...as in no more than 50 feet away. A lot of good places to eat within easy walking distance. Nice community area, fire pit, chairs on the sand, a hammock. Nice rustic clubhouse with community library. Would certainly stay here again. Was not crowded when we were here, not sure how it would be with all 10 or 11 sites full. Can't remember if there was a discount for AAA etc. We camped at Sugar Sand Beach RV Resort in a Motorhome.

The Italian Stop correcting "restaurant" is worth going to, a bit of a walk....suggest driving. Half a dozen other places almost right out your front door.

All About Relaxing RV Park, Theodore, Alabama

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

My first review but been doing this for a while now. Best campground for us yet. Very friendly and helpful, smaller which we like. Didn't use any of the facilities but they looked outstanding Clean and new. Swings everywhere, gazebos for use. Hookups good, good water pressure. Pull through was roomy - a one night stay could have stayed hooked up. Outside of Mobile so quieter, but close enough for an easy drive. Would stay here again for sure. We camped at All About Relaxing RV Park in a Motorhome.
