Sunny Brook RV Resort, South Haven, Michigan

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $66.00
Overall Rating:

This is one of the prettiest campgrounds we have stayed in. We stayed here 2 years ago and they have expanded it and the new sites are larger and even nicer with more green space & landscaping in between them. It is definitely a luxury campground and they sell lots. The owners do a lot of upscale landscaping as well. There are lots of activities and everything is immaculate and well maintained. Staff is very friendly and helpful. We camped at Sunny Brook RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Lebanon/Cincinnati NE KOA (formerly Cedarbrook Campground), Lebanon, Ohio

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $57.00
Overall Rating:

Entering the campground in a big rig with a tow was a bit unclear so we needed a guide and a long loop around the campground to get into our site, but it was easily accomplished with wide, manageable turns. Our pull-thru was long and utilities easily accessible. Staff was very friendly & helpful. We camped at Lebanon/Cincinnati NE KOA (formerly Cedarbrook Campground) in a Motorhome.

Cummins Ferry Campground & Marina, Salvisa, Kentucky

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

DISCLAIMER- This is geared toward BIG rig owners! It's a long narrow road into a lovely campground on the banks of the Kentucky River. Even though the owners have widened the roads by 4' and the sites by 3' and just re-surfaced the sites, the turns are still tight for 45' motorhomes with tows. Our site was long enough to not disconnect the tow but we dropped the car at the office because they had so much rain the grass in between pads was saturated. Our rear wheels and tow wheels on driver's side still got very muddy making the turn in & out. We needed extra sewer hose & extra hose to reach water. As long as you are well aware & well prepared, this is a lovely campground. We camped at Cummins Ferry Campground & Marina in a Motorhome.

Holiday Travel Park of Chattanooga, Rossville, Georgia

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

I called them for directions because their location was unclear. The campground is actually just south of the Tennessee/GA border in GA so when I gave them our name, they remembered our reservation and reminded me to call them when we got to Exit 1 on the freeway so they could have someone meet us at the entrance. We're 45' plus a tow and they wanted to guide us in " not the usual way to make it easier for us" and they sure did! They put us in a long pull-thru directly across from the office using the " out" drive of the campground to get into it..... smooth as silk! Very helpful staff and very nice campground. Nice big covered picnic area that would be great for groups too. We camped at Holiday Travel Park of Chattanooga in a Motorhome.

Two Rivers Campground, Nashville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $58.00
Overall Rating:

Little confusing coming in I-40 from the West with the freeway system but at least you pass the campground from the freeway and can see where you're going to end up! We got a call from them about 3:00 pm confirming we'd be arriving before the office closed at 5 pm or else they'd explain their night arrival instructions. Check-in was smooth & thorough, directions to campsite clear. Campsite access more than adequate with good access to back in. Very helpful friendly & staff. We camped at Two Rivers Campground in a Motorhome.

Little Rock North / Jct. I-40 KOA, North Little Rock, Arkansas

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

A little far from I-40 for a one night stop but a nice campground. Easy in & out for the pull-thru they put us in. New gal at front desk was confused about length of site w/our tow but our guide said we'd be fine not unhooking and we were. We camped at Little Rock North / Jct. I-40 KOA in a Motorhome.

Checotah / Lake Eufaula West KOA, Checotah, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

It's a nice campground but I think a bit pricey for the location. It's right on top of I-40 with lots of freeway noise. We were in a premium campsite with " satellite" access & we were surrounded by trees so, of course, no satellite access but the patio and amenities were lovely. It's a short walk down a bumpy trail to the lake which looks like it's very high and very, very muddy from spring rains. Not attractive right now at all. We camped at Checotah / Lake Eufaula West KOA in a Motorhome.

Elk City / Clinton KOA, Canute, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

Lovely campground with mature but trimmed trees, grass under the picnic tables at each site and cute playground. Friendly check-in with excellent directions to site and offer to guide if needed. Menu for limited food (pizza, wings, sandwiches, salad& some easy breakfast items). One of the better KOA's we've stayed at. Right off I-40 but no freeway noise ( although wind was so noisy maybe that masked it the night we were there!) We camped at Elk City / Clinton KOA in a Motorhome.

Santa Rosa Campground & RV Park, Santa Rosa, New Mexico

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Very pleasant at check-in, wide roads and good written directions to campsite. Level site with rigs parked in opposite directions so a bit close together but neatly landscaped. Restaurant on site was convenient and reasonably priced. Pool was closed for maintenance. We camped at Santa Rosa Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Alpen Rose RV Park, Durango, Colorado

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $56.00
Overall Rating:

It's a lovely park in a quiet, lovely location but I think a bit overpriced for early May. We were greeted warmly, our packet ready upon arrival and the Camp Host guided us expertly into a site that just barely fit our 45' plus our dolly. The Durango & Silverton Steam locomotive passes by the campground each day with a cheerful whistle as they steam by. They offer a discount for their breakfast but we didn't partake. We camped at Alpen Rose RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Don't miss taking the train from Durango to Silverton. If you can afford it, do the observation car if you go in the summer. We were lucky that we had a warm early spring day. It climbs from 6500' to 9500' so there's a significant elevation/temperature difference....be prepared!

USA RV Park, Gallup, New Mexico

This is a return visit for us and they have added a new row of very, very long pull-thrus to the campground. Very easy in and out. We were delayed arriving by a day due to coach repairs and all it took was a phone call to change our reservation. They are very easy to work with. We camped at USA RV Park in a Motorhome.

Enchanted Trails RV Park & Trading Post, Albuquerque, New Mexico

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

We loved staying here last year so decided to add a week here again after Balloon Fiesta. It's a retro park with the main building dating back to the 40's as a trading post. Laundry room has antique washing machine & ironing machine. Lots of Route 66 decor. They have some retro trailers you can rent for a night or two. Staff is friendly, roads are wide & easily managed in a 45' w/tow. This time we had a back-in spot with easy access. You're about 19 miles west of ABQ with easy I-40 accessible. Wi-fi in our area was non-working due to a broken part. We camped at Enchanted Trails RV Park & Trading Post in a Motorhome.

Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta Park, Albuquerque, New Mexico

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $100.00
Overall Rating:

We are members of Monaco International and this was rally-style dry camping at the West VIP lot just south of the launch field. Our club rate included 2 lunches, 2 breakfasts and appetizers at Social Hours. It's difficult to get into this lot unless you're a member of a group because of its location. Although we could see the balloons launching from our front window, we went down onto the field to get up close & personal. Generators are allowed except for "quiet hours" and water trucks & honey wagons could be utilized for a fee. THE place to be for Balloon Fiesta! A Balloon landed directly in front us in our Social Area between the Host Coaches! Ours was a 4-night package for $475 for the 2 of us. We camped at Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta Park in a Motorhome.

USA RV Park, Gallup, New Mexico

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Someone from the campground called first thing in the morning to confirm our reservation. Check-in was smooth and friendly. They made sure we knew they were serving pulled pork sandwiches for $5 later today. Roads were wide & easy to navigate. In the 50 amp pull-thrus they park in opposite directions but we had a nice-long spot for our 45' Class A. One night stop on our way to Albuquerque for Balloon Fiesta....easy access off I-40 with several truck fuel dealers right at the exit. We camped at USA RV Park in a Motorhome.

Grand Canyon Railway RV Park, Williams, Arizona

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

A little confusing since the RV Park check-in is across a Main Street from the park. We pulled into where all the rigs were parked and then had to walk a block or so back to check-in. Camp area is meticulous, wi-fi never dropped over three days. You are right next to the Grand Canyon Railroad lines plus another set of rails with a bit of traffic. Walking distance to the Train Depot but the Campground/Hotel has a shuttle as well. There's a phone in the laundry room at the campground to call the shuttle. We'd stay here again. We took the train into the Grand Canyon for the day or you can do an overnight stay too. The Campground Booking Office can handle the tickets. We were lucky enough to arrive on the last day of the season for the steam locomotive for the season. We watched it arrive back at the Station at 5:45 pm. New Brewery Restaurant is right across the street and it was pretty good.
