Rio Viento RV Park, Rio Vista, California

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

There are very few RV parks or campgrounds in the San Francisco East Bay area. We needed a place to stay for a couple of months while recovering from surgery. This park is located in the San Joaquin Delta, half way between Antioch and Rio Vista, and is a great option in this area of California, especially for larger RVs. After the two-mile drive in on a narrow levee road, you're greeted with palm trees and wide sites, entirely done in concrete pavers. New managers really know what they're doing here. The park is very well kept and a safe place to stay, for a night...a week or longer. Rate indicated reflects the monthly rate of $700. This is our third stay at Rio Viento, and we will definitely return. Be aware that the wind blows here, which is why it's a destination for windsurfers, and they're fun to watch on the river right across the road from the park. We camped at Rio Viento RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Rose Valley RV Ranch, Silver City, New Mexico

Date of Stay: November, 2017 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed four nights at this park while visiting the Silver City/Gila Cliff Dwellings area. Overall, the park is good. Our pull through site was spacious with enough room to park the tow vehicle in front or in back of our rig. Each site has a fenced sitting area giving you some privacy. The entire park is well kept; however, large shrubbery at the end of our site needed either removed or trimmed back. We couldn't make a right turn to vacate our site, and there was a very large rock on the opposite side, causing us to make a very wide left turn. Luckily, no cars were parked at the site opposite us. Our only real complaint about this park is the dust. All roads are gravel and are very, VERY dusty. First time we've had a view of a cemetery out our back window, but at least it was peaceful. Given the choices in the area, we would most likely stay here again when visiting Silver City. We camped at Rose Valley RV Ranch in a Fifth Wheel.

Gila Cliff Dwellings is well worth the drive. Historic downtown Silver City was a bit of a disappointment. Albertson's and Walmart are both convenient for necessities.

Santa Fe Skies RV Park, Santa Fe, New Mexico

Date of Stay: November, 2017 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

We just don't get the rave reviews about this park. As with everything Santa Fe, it is expensive, which would be okay if this were a resort type of park but it is FAR from that. Check in was fine, the office staff seemed okay but there weren't any park staff to be seen in and around the park and it is in need of attention. Our site (#10) was not level and very narrow for larger rigs (we are 40' with 3 slides). We had to pick up dog waste and debris left by prior guests before setting up. Weeds are everywhere in the park. We found the "yard art" only added to the cluttered and unkempt look of the park. With only gravel roads and sites, it is VERY dusty. Icing on the cake is the laundry facility. In more than two years of full-time travel, we have never paid such exorbitant fees for use of the laundry...$14 total to wash/dry three loads. When returning to Santa Fe, we will seek other alternatives. We camped at Santa Fe Skies RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Santa Fe is so charming. We enjoyed the old downtown area, the farmer's market at the Railyards, great lunch at Tomasita's and hiking at Picacho Peak. We found the best Margarita in town made by bartender "Skye" at the Agave Lounge inside the El Dorado Hotel & Spa. Ask for her by name.

Chief Sleep Easy, Beaver Dam, Arizona

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

Small park well enough off the interstate to be convenient, yet quiet. Can be a little tight to maneuver for larger rigs. Trees definitely in need of trimming; we couldn't extend our slides without first cutting back a few branches. Interior roads are gravel and very dusty. Laundry facility is clean, with plenty of machines all in working order and reasonably priced. Many full time residents in this park but all were friendly and we felt very safe. Manager is the best! She's friendly, helpful and accommodating. We would definitely return. We camped at Chief Sleep Easy in a Fifth Wheel.

Mesquite, NV just nine miles away with shopping and casinos. If in need of a hair salon, Shereen's Hair & Nails in Mesquite is exceptional.

Sky Ute Casino RV Park, Ignacio, Colorado

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

Other reviews of this nice small park are spot on. The value just can't be beat. We found the park easy to navigate with our 40' fifth wheel. The site was spacious, although with slides extended the parking area next to the RV was tight so we parked the tow vehicle in front of the RV instead...sites are plenty long. Nice patio area with picnic table and a small barbeque. Our only complaint was the laundry facility; it's very small with only two washers, both of which were out of order during our stay. We camped at Sky Ute Casino RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

A 30 minute drive into Durango for shopping and restaurants. We really enjoyed the Animas River Trail in Durango, and the beautiful drive up to Silverton & Ouray.

Wonderland RV Park, Torrey, Utah

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Owners work very hard to keep the park in tip-top shape. Grass is green and lush, didn't notice a lot of dust from the interior gravel roads. The park is tight for larger rigs, and the pull through sites are very narrow. Over all, it's a good stop for a couple of nights while visiting the Capitol Reef area. We camped at Wonderland RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

West View RV Resort, Dolores, Colorado

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is a brand new RV park and owners are working very hard to make it one of the best in the area. Location can't be beat; its actually much closer to Cortez than to Dolores, just minutes from grocery stores and other services. The parks interior roads will soon be paved which will cut down dramatically on the dust, which was our only real complaint here. Wifi worked well in our site, but not so well in our neighbors site, so it can be spotty. Sites are very generous and spaced well enough apart; lots of grass in between. There's an on-site hair salon and spa, a very nice club house and a cool bar where they serve very reasonable happy hour drinks. Laundry room was clean and also reasonably priced. We would definitely stay here again when we return to the Cortez area. We camped at West View RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

McArthur's Temple View RV Resort, St George, Utah

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

The best thing about Temple View is its location. Easy on/off the interstate, access to shopping and national parks. You can walk to restaurants and some shopping. As far as the park itself, roads are very tight, sites are all back-in and not angled for easy entry. We observed many folks having difficulty getting into their sites. Interior back-in sites are VERY close and we found this somewhat uncomfortable. Not sure if we would return. We camped at McArthur's Temple View RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Close to Zion National Park, but recommend that you arrive as early as possible as parking lots fill quickly and parking in Springdale is expensive. We arrived at 7AM and the visitor center lot was already one-third filled.
