Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort, Colorado Springs, Colorado

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $53.00
Overall Rating:

Really nice RV park. As others have said the sites in this park except sites 1-10 are the largest sites we have encountered. The park is mainly full-timers, but in this case it is an asset. All of the people are super friendly and have organized activities during the week (bingo, taco Tuesdays, breakfast waffles, Halloween party... ). Very strict on the rules but that is what keeps the park looking so nice. Cell coverage was marginal with Verizon. The only real ding is the price. The water pressure would fluctuate a lot, between 20 an 65 psi. We will definitely be back. We camped there in a MH. We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Pikes Peak RV Park, Manitou Springs, Colorado

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

Nice RV Park within walking distance to Manitou Springs. I agree with the other reviews that the spaces are very close together. The sites are gravel with a cement patio. Parking is tight and we had to park our truck in the overflow parking lot. The park is very clean and has a gate to the park next door. The staff is expert in helping you back into your space. The only 2 dings are that it is a little expensive for what it is and that there is no WiFi. Despite that we would definitely stay there again. We camped at Pikes Peak RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Dakota Ridge RV Park, Golden, Colorado

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $62.00
Overall Rating:

Overall this is one of the better campgrounds in the area. They keep it pretty, offer good service and work on greenery and amenities. I would have liked to see a little more space between sites with a private area for each RV. Being one of the fancier parks also means it's jam packed. In our 10 days there we never saw a site sit empty for more than ½ a day, so if you're coming in the summer, book ahead. Being busy also means it a bit on the noisy side and you do hear traffic on Hwy 6 which runs right in front. Location is decent as far as exploring the area. You're close to town, Denver and the parks. There's only one hike on-site which requires bush-whacking across the field behind the storage facility (gets you to Hogsback), but otherwise you're close to many hikes in nearby William F Hayden Park and other areas in Golden. Overall a very decent "city" RV park, but if we come back we'll probably try to find something . Dog walk area is terrible, just a drainage ditch or hillside with long weeds. Rv Site was broken making it very hard to level. We camped at Dakota Ridge RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

BJ's Campground, Lusk, Wyoming

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park but too expensive for what it is. Not a big fan of being on the street with no privacy. Also there is a train that you can hear late at night. Big rig friendly with level sites. Wifi and showers were good. No dog park but park across street to walk dog. Cable was good with over 50 channels. Owner was very friendly, helpful with things to do in the area, and kept the campground looking great. We camped at BJ's Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Lewis & Clark State Park, Williston, North Dakota

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

What a wonderful campground. Originally planned to stay 4 days, ended up staying 2 weeks. Sites are mixed some are full hook-up most are W/E and others are E only. We originally were in a W/E site 31 but moved to a full hook-up. The site was nice with trees and shade, but we were forced to move because of spiders. I think they are in the trees. The Plover loop is in the open and has full hookups. The issue with the W/E sites and some of the full hookup sites is that the water can be over 50ft away. Don't believe the website. The electrical connections are all in the right spot it's the water you need to worry about and that info is not correct for a lot of sites. Sewer connection is high, so drainage is slow. There is only one bathroom with pit toilets scattered around. The campground host was wonderful and friendly as were the rangers. On the weekends there is a ranger talk on different subjects and on Sunday there is a program for JR explorer s. There is a lot of road construction on 1804 which I recommend to avoid. Take HWY 2. The only big downside is that there are no laundry facilities and because of construction it takes >45 min to get into town. Wi-Fi is provided free from a 3rd party and worked well for us. The $30 is for full hookup, its 25 for W/E. Would definitely stay here again. We camped at Lewis & Clark State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Evergreen Campground, Havre, Montana

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Small park just outside of Havre. Back ins are FHU, pull-thrus are W/E. Sites are very close together. There is a lot of road noise during the day, but it seems to quiet down at night. My biggest complaint is the water pressure. When someone starts watering the grass the water pressure goes to almost zero, had to take a shower late a night to avoid problems. The bathrooms are in desperate need of a remodel. Owner very strict about pets on leashes. Sites 10-13 are the best if you want shade and FHU. We would probability stay here again if in the area. Shelby RV Park & Resort, Shelby, Montana

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

This is not 8! It will be an 8 when the trees grow in about 10 years, but not now. I totally agree with the last reviewer. "A gravel parking lot behind a Comfort Inn. Full hook ups, good WiFi and Verizon wireless network. Nice bathrooms and showers. Access to pool, hot tub and exercise room. Casino and restaurant inside hotel. We camped at Shelby RV Park & Resort in a Fifth Wheel". The low numbered back-ins are good in terms of sun placement, The pull-thrus have better separation and the grass between sites is better. We will not stay here again. We camped at Shelby RV Park & Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

St. Mary / East Glacier KOA, St Mary, Montana

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $67.00
Overall Rating:

RV park with all of the amenities you can even have pizza delivered to your site. Way overpriced. Sites are gravel not level with dead grass between sites. We made a reservation for 50amps only got a site with 30amps, we were told that was all that was available, and for that I paid 67 per night! It is convenient to Glacier park entrance. When we arrived the water pressure was only 20psi, when I inquired they said it was because they were watering the grass (which is dead). The pressure did go back up once they stopped watering. Wifi had good signal but just didn't work. Would not stay again because of the price We camped at St. Mary / East Glacier KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Dick's RV Park, Great Falls, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

Noise, noise noise and more noise. Planes from the airport, The occasional train whistle, drag boat on river and the forever hwy noise. Not counting the noise this is a very hard park to rate. It has a strange vibe about it. I think it is because of all of the long term people there. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Definitely not worth the price. Bathrooms were clean but in desperate need of updating. WiFi barely worked and we were right next to the office. Sites are separated by grass which is watered every night and gets your rig wet because pads aren't bid enough to take slide outs into account so they hang over the grass area. Our site was in the open in 100 degree heat not very pleasant especially because the sites are facing the wrong way with hot afternoon sun at your door. We would not stay there again. We camped at Dick's RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

7th Ranch RV Camp, Garryowen, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park agree with most of the previous reviews except 1) Only 2 washing machines for entire park, unable to do laundry because always in use 2) There are trees but they are placed at the edge of the site and do not cast a meaningful shadow. The trees on the left end pf the park are bigger and do provide shade try to get one of those. 3) The people are courteous but not very helpful and terse. I asked if I could have a late check-out and without even checking the response was no and "you will have to find something to do to make up the time". Part of the problem is that their check-in time is the same as there check-out time. 4) THE TRAIN!! The train goes by several times a day blowing its whistle 12 times usually late at night and in the morning. 5) sites face the wrong way so you get the hot afternoon sun We camped at 7th Ranch RV Camp in a Fifth Wheel.

Southern Hills RV Park and Campground, Hermosa, South Dakota

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

RVParkReview has let us down yet again. This is NOT a 8.9. The price should not influence a review. RV park in an open area with rock and what should be grass area between sites. There is no shade so the summer sun was not very pleasant. The one good thing is that the sites are oriented so that your front door get morning sun and not the hot afternoon sun. The middle row of sites experienced multiple power failures while we were there. I would rate it higher but there is no WiFi (all RV parks in this day an age should offer some kind of WiFi) and the "grass" area between sites is just a bunch of mowed dead weeds. Good for a overnight stay but that is all. We will not return. We camped at Southern Hills RV Park and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Mountain View RV Park & Campground, Sundance, Wyoming

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Had to make last minute plans and they were able to accommodate us on the 4th of July in a back-in with 30amp W/E only. Nice RV park with small rec room and pool. Lots of grass area. There is some noise from the freeway but not bothersome. Staff was very nice and helpful. Park has been sold and new owners take ownership in August. There doesn't appear to be a dump station. We were told to use a vacant site. You want either a pull-thru on the last row on the lower level or a back-in. If not the hot afternoon sun will be facing your door. We would definitely stay there again. We camped at Mountain View RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Rushmore Shadows RV Resort, Rapid City, South Dakota

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

If I could I would rate it a 9.5. This is a really nice park to stay at. A 10 is perfect and this RV park is not perfect but close. There is a 'new' area and 'old' area, I recommend the old area, it is away from the highway and depending on the site there is shade. The only real complaint is that the WiFi did not work well. It has everything you could ask for putt-putt golf, hot tub, swimming pools, large dog run, store, rec room, laundry, large sites which are nicely spaced. I highly recommend this park, We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Rushmore Shadows RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.
