Pokegama Dam Campground COE, Grand Rapids, Minnesota

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $13.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice COE park located on the shore of Pokegama Lake/Mississippi River. Trees nicely trimmed, most sites somewhat level, good electrical. Good place to take advantage of activities and sites in the area. Shaded, satellite TV difficult. We camped at Pokegama Dam Campground COE in a Motorhome.

Farquar-Metsa Tourist Park, Gwinn, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $13.00
Overall Rating:

Great little campground a little ways south of Marquette. The park office is not maned, so they ask for reservations to be made. It worked quite well. There was a sign with our name on it and we dropped the payment in their self service box. Our site was a little unlevel, but workable. We had full hookups and the electrical and WiFi were good. We chose this campground because it was convenient to Marguette's airport. We would stay there again. We camped at Farquar-Metsa Tourist Park in a Motorhome.

Knife Island Campground, Esko, Minnesota

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

I made a serious mistake but just looking at this campground's website and not reading the reviews on RVParkReviews. The website gives a very warped and idealistic view of the property. There are no signs on the highway indicating where the entrance is located. After you finally find the entrance you have to negotiate potholes and overgrown foliage above and along both sides of the road. There are even low overhanging limbs where you park to register. There whole place is an overgrown, unkempt fish camp. They have benches along the river, but you can't really get to them because everything is so overgrown. One sticking point is that they charged more for the site than stated on the phone and on their sign at the office. At check in they even wrote down the stated price on the check in form and we later discovered they charged a higher price. When we questioned the price at check out they said that is their price and if we didn't like it we could leave. Another strange thing is that when you check in you have to give them all kinds of personal details and then sign a wavier releasing them from any liability from THEIR negligence. We will never stay there again. BTW, there was one glowing review from years ago. But bet is that review was posted by a relative.Avoid at all costs. We camped at Knife Island Campground in a Motorhome.

Town & Country Campground (formerly Traveller's RV Resort), Winnipeg, Manitoba

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Huge campground convenient to the Trans-Canada highway. Nice layout with adequate room between sites. Sites are mostly level. Interior roads are dirt with some swells, but no deep pot-holes. A good place to take in the sites and sounds of Winnipeg. The washrooms and laundry are old, worn, and not very clean. Electrical was adequate. Wifi was great Tuesday through mid day Friday, then unusable over the weekend and still not good on Monday. We would stay here again. We camped at Town & Country Campground (formerly Traveller's RV Resort) in a Motorhome.

Meadowlark Campground & RV Park, Brandon, Manitoba

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

Easy access from the TransCanada highway. Nice logical layout with good interior roads. WiFi was okay, but electrical had very low voltage. It was very hot there, but we couldn't run the AC because of low voltage. Staff friendly and accommodating. We might return, but not when it is hot. We camped at Meadowlark Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Comfort Plus Campground, White City, Saskatchewan

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

Small campground on acreage behind a house. The sites are laid out in a hodge-podge manner. It looks like that over time as they had a few extra dollars, they would just go out and throw in some utilities and call it a site. The dump station is very hard to get to, you have to circle through about half the site after dumping. They tried to assign us a so-called 50 amp site. The electrical hookup was inside a building about 45 feet from our site. They wanted to put in their 50 to 30 pigtail, then add their 30 amp extension cord, then convert back to my RV with a 30 to 50 pigtail. We declined and chose a FHU30 site instead. The workamper managers were friendly and very good to work with. The whole setup is strange and really rundown. The showers and laundry were clean, but very old and worn. AND no, we will not be back. After re-reading my comments, I just dropped the rating another star to 3. We camped at Comfort Plus Campground in a Motorhome.

Buffalo Trails Campground, Williston, North Dakota

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

After reading some of the previous reviews, I wasn't expecting much. I was pleasantly surprised to find a FHU50 well spaced site. Great place to stay for a few days, just off the highway. The electrical was strong, even in the July heat. The WiFi worked great, even at a distance from the office. We would certainly stay here again. The owner is very friendly, helpful, and easy to talk to. We camped at Buffalo Trails Campground in a Motorhome.

Wagon Wheel Campground, Forsyth, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Small, simple, but very pleasant. Pull through sites are level and nicely spaced. Electrical for pull through has been updated and has strong 20/30/50 amps. The wifi was fast and consistent. We really enjoyed our overnight stay. We camped at Wagon Wheel Campground in a Motorhome.

Osens RV Park & Campground, Livingston, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

We also stayed at this park in 2011. My notes show that it was a pleasant stay, but had poor wifi. The staff told me that the current owners purchased the property in 2012 and have added sites and made extensive improvements. The new sites are well laid out and fairly level. The laundry and new bath house are very nice. The bad news is the extensive questioning at check in. They wanted to know everything about us; they acted like we were entering into a long term rental agreement. We have never encountered this before, in 10 years of fulltiming and over 500 campgrounds. They escort to you site to make sure that you park exactly like they want, dead center of the site and all the way back. They also require you to be escorted to the dump station when there is no real reason since it is pretty straight forward. In 2011 we got a FHU50 for $33, this year we got a water/electric site for $46, a huge price increase considering the different levels of service. We don't consider this stay a good value. Even though there have been many upgrades to the park, the electrical is very weak in the newly added sites. With only one air conditioner running we were only getting 108 volts. The wifi is still not usable. We will not be back. We camped at Osens RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Bayside RV Campground, Oyster Bed Bridge, Prince Edward Island

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Great location to explore all of Prince Edward Island. The owners are friendly and make an effort to accommodate their customers. The rest of the story: Extremely poor electrical; I could only run one appliance at a time and then voltage dropped below 105VAC. There is race track nearby, but the noise didn't bother us. We were warned at the time we made the reservation. Sites unlevel, but evidence of adding rock to help, still very bad. Pine trees at sited are poorly located and way to close to RVs. They are not being properly trimmed to prevent damage to RVs. The electrical is the real deal breaker, I will not return. We camped at Bayside RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Adventures East Campground & Cottages, Baddeck, Nova Scotia

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $16.00
Overall Rating:

New owners are actively spending money and making improvements. The electrical in the existing sites has been upgraded and worked very well. The WiFi system has been updated and worked great. Dump station is not convenient on arrival or departure. A new section is being added and appears to being done right. Roads are pot holded and trees need trimming. The existing sites are extremely unlevel and muddy during rains. Because of the unlevel sites, I will not stay here again until improvements are made. We camped at Adventures East Campground & Cottages in a Motorhome.

Milton Heights Campground, Milton, Ontario

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

The campground is well laid out, very well maintained, and upgrades are ongoing. It is convenient for visiting Toronto. The staff was helpful in recommending things to do and how to get into Toronto. The staff was friendly, but the owner tried to be invisible when making his rounds. He wouldn't even acknowledge or speak to anyone when meeting them on the roads. Certainly not a people person. The only complaints: The shower water was not hot enough, apparently trying to save on propane. Just barely warm enough to tolerate. IF YOU ADVERTISE THAT YOU HAVE WIFI, AT LEAST HAVE A SYSTEM THAT WORKS. It connected easy, but there was not enough bandwidth to even check email. It was that way all week. We camped at Milton Heights Campground in a Motorhome.

St Clair--Thousand Trails , St Clair, Michigan

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

I'm sure it once was and still has potential to be great. There was only one 50amp site left and it was unlevel and muddy. This park has a great number of seasonals leaving very little room for transient members. The newest section is almost completely seasonals. The ranger said that they had been full all summer. We really enjoyed our stay in the area and the staff was very good. This park is like most Thousand Trails parks, unlevel and muddy sites. Just keep more sites available, level them, and put out some rock. We camped at St Clair--Thousand Trails in a Motorhome.
