Leroy Percy State Park, Hollandale, Mississippi

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

This overnight site was selected because of its proximity to Greenville, MS. High water made walking along hiking trails impossible at the time of our visit. This very small, remote park attribue was it was soooo quiet during our visit. If you like being alone, well, you've found your park. Enjoy the deer, enjoy the squirrel, but be wary of the alligators in the small nearby lake. We camped at Leroy Percy State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The purpose of staying here was to go into Greenville, MS (20 miles away?) to eat at Doe's Eat Place. A bit expensive, but a once in a life time experience eating, literally, in the kitchen. Two and three pound prime steaks are the norm at this location. (Yes, you may divide among yourselves.)

Grand Gulf Military Monument Park, Port Gibson, Mississippi

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

Interesting Civil War era attributes which included a museum, buildings and signage. The host worked in the museum, but also was available to help with obtaining camping sites. We stayed on the "upper level' camp ground which tended to have smaller vehicles, trailers and some tenters. Note that you do not get the same senior or military discounts here as in other Mississippi State Parks. This is a private camp associated with the Mississippi State Parks. We camped at Grand Gulf Military Monument Park in a Motorhome.
