North-South Lake, Haines Falls, New York

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

Nice DEC sites. No hookups, strictly dry camping. Good space between sites. Quiet and privacy. Few lakeside are hard to book. Best to secure 9 months in advance. Many sites OK beach. Good boating fishing and several good hiking trails. Next town north is Tannersville has excellent Mexican restaurant and steak house too. We camped at North-South Lake in a Travel Trailer.

Lumberton/I-95 KOA Campground, Lumberton, North Carolina

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

Easy access off 95 or 74. We stayed two nights enroute from Fl.. Seems like most only stay one night, but we had friends who live local and had a planned visit. Park is very tired as noted, but they are making major infrastructure improvements, and I see this place turning from the caterpillar to the butterfly in short order. The owners are extremely pleasant and welcoming, and very willing to do whatever necessary to make your stay outstanding. I am new to KOA campgrounds and RV lifestyle, but came away very pleased with our stay. Nothing nearby so plan on driving to eat if needed. All pull thru sites are level, old blacktop. Grassy areas with small picnic tables. We camped at Lumberton/I-95 KOA Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

We needed dinner so used Yelp. Was extremely satisfied with Italian restaurant in Lumberton. Bit of a ride north on 95 after taking the 74 connection. Not too convenient. Worth the ride. It's in an Econo Lodge off the lobby, but the food and service were great. The name was Adelio's 3508 Kahn Drive. Second night: Ruby Tuesdays, same direction north 1/2 way to Lumberton.

Savannah South KOA, Richmond Hill, Georgia

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

Everything was as expected, however it was the very first time at a KOA. So when I say expected, it was based on reviews I had read. I am new to camping, but very pleased with the helpfulness of the staff.

Lot spacing was very close and mostly shady. Site surface was dirt and sand, featuring a picnic table. We camped at Savannah South KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Only stated one night, but we needed dinner. Went to a local Rib Joint. Amazing ribs, albeit looks like fast food, based in a mini plaza combo gas station, right by Sub Way. Don't be fooled by appearances the ribs were great, as was the service. I think the name was Smokin Pig...east out of KOA under 95 on left.
