Peter D's RV Park, Sheridan, Wyoming

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

This park is convenient to the freeway but still quiet. It has a rural feel with cows grazing nearby and yet convenient to downtown Sheridan. The owner is very friendly and helpful. Utilities worked well. The restrooms were spotless and worked well. We camped at Peter D's RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Owner offers a discount card for dinner at a steak restaurant in town. The discount provides a free fried green tomatoes appetizer, which was delicious. And the rest of the meal was very good.

Spokane KOA, Spokane Valley, Washington

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $51.00
Overall Rating:

Park generally pleasant, but train noise is a problem. Woke up during the night when sounded like and felt like a train was rolling through our site. Check-in was poor because we were sent to a site that was already occupied. That problem took about half an hour to sort out. They finally gave us another site. Bathrooms clean but old. Showers were difficult to adjust and the drain backed up so standing in water. I would stay here again because Spokane has so few alternatives but not a great RV park. We camped at Spokane KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Dutcher Creek RV Park and Campground, Cloverdale, California

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

Price reflects a weekly rate. This was our second year at Dutcher Creek. We came back because the park is relatively quiet and in a rural setting. It is perhaps 1/2 mile from the Hwy 101 freeway. Distant enough to minimize freeway noise but still convenient for freeway access. It's a short drive Healdsburg and numerous wineries. Access is through a residential area and then up a steep, but paved entry road. A little intimidating at first but quite doable. There are only about 5 sites for short-term stays. These are near the office and by the pool. The rest of the spaces are scattered over the property and occupied by park models and 5th wheels for long term residents. It's a little strange at first, but it seems to work. The restrooms are dated, but reasonably well maintained. Hot water can be an issue if more that one shower is running or someone is doing laundry next door. One note of caution -- in April there are some mosquitos in the evening from the creek down the hill. We camped at Dutcher Creek RV Park and Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Mountain Gate RV Park, Redding, California

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Price reflects a small trailer discount. This is our go to RV park in the Redding area as on overnight on the way north or south on I-5. The park is well maintained and attractive with its many trees. The restrooms are large, fairly modern, and well lit. The showers give ample room and there is plenty of hot water. All sites have concrete pads. Many are terraced into the hill and are as a result not quite level side-to-side. Not a big problem but it can take a little work to get level. In the past the park offered a light breakfast with various pastries and coffee in the morning. Now they just provide coffee. We camped at Mountain Gate RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
