Birdland Bay RV Resort, Thompson Falls, Montana

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful park with spacious sites. We were in the upper loop and the road was paved with gravel sites. The lower loop had gravel roads. There were lots of trees, though we were able to get satellite, with beautiful grassy areas between sites. The hosts were extremely nice and escorted us to our site. We couldn't get the wifi, but our ATT signal was good. The only negative was the train noise. Others have said that they didn't hear it at night, but my husband watched the clock one night and a train went by about every hour and a half throughout the night. We could actually see the train from our site and there is a crossing close by so we were treated to the whistle repeatedly. Sometimes, the train would even cause our unit to shake as it went by. We stayed there for 3 nights and were pretty tired when we left. It might be better in the lower loop because it's farther from the tracks and the hill may block some of the noise. We camped at Birdland Bay RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Jim & Mary's RV Park, Missoula, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Cute park with gravel sites and grassy yards. Sites are spacious with lots of trees and flower gardens. Cable available and satellite reception works in some of the sites. Unfortunately, we were here when there were a lot of nearby forest fires and the valley was filled with smoke. Otherwise, it would have been a perfect stay. We camped at Jim & Mary's RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Sunrise Campground, Bozeman, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

Older park with gravel sites. The front of the park had some shade and grass but the area we were in was almost all gravel. It wasn't packed down in the yard area so chairs sink in as soon as you sit down. They did allow washing of RVs and the owners are extremely nice. They park neighboring units in opposite directions and we were so close to one of our neighbors that we could look into each other's bedrooms. As mentioned in other reviews, there is a lot of noise from the road and the trains. My husband had trouble sleeping so we would probably not stay here again. We camped at Sunrise Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Indian Campground & RV Park, Buffalo, Wyoming

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park for a short stay. Our site was fairly level with grass in between sites and lots of mature trees, which may interfere with satellite reception. Close to the Interstate but the trees help block the noise. We camped at Indian Campground & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Glendo Lakeside RV Park, Glendo, Wyoming

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Spent one night here on our way through Wyoming. The park is mostly gravel with spacious sites. The layout of the park is great. Trees have been planted to help offset all the gravel and provide a little shade. The staff is very friendly. We would definitely stop here again. We camped at Glendo Lakeside RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Fort Collins / Lakeside KOA , Fort Collins, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for 8 nights so we could explore the surrounding country side. The service was excellent, including an escort to our site. The site was level with a concrete pad and utilities were good. The dirt roads created a lot of dust and the "grassy" area outside our RV was mostly weeds and dirt, though they do water nightly. They have amazing, well-maintained amenities for the kids, so this would be a great location for families. They need to invest in new picnic tables. Ours was in pretty bad shape. We camped at Fort Collins / Lakeside KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Clayton RV Park (formerly Clayton KOA), Clayton, New Mexico

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

Decent place to stay for an overnight. The roads have some ruts and our site had a very deep rut on one side. We had to use leveling blocks and by the time we were done, our wheels were off the ground on one side. We camped at Clayton RV Park (formerly Clayton KOA) in a Fifth Wheel.

Bar J Hitchin Post RV, Sweetwater, Texas

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

The park itself is perfect for an overnight stop. The only problem we had was the noise from the truck stop next door. All night we heard the trucks changing gears as they got back on the Interstate. The staff was friendly and the sites were decent. We camped at Bar J Hitchin Post RV in a Fifth Wheel.

Great Sand Dunes Oasis RV Park, Mosca, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

This is a pretty basic campground with RV parked in one long row. The night before we arrived there was a huge rainstorm which caused a washout of the hill above some of the RV spots. To their credit, they wasted no time in getting heavy equipment in to clean and repair. The spot we were in was on the end so we had an unimpeded view of the dunes. It was beautiful. The road to the RV spots is dirt and is pretty rough. We camped at Great Sand Dunes Oasis RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Trinidad Lake State Park, Trinidad, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

Pretty park. Only a few FHU sites and many are not very level. Nice hiking trails. Laundry room and showers are clean and well-maintained. Great Verizon and ATT signals. Biggest problem is narrow roads. We stayed near the entrance but had to go around the loop to leave and had a lot of trouble keeping our RV tires on the road. We camped at Trinidad Lake State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Cheyenne Mountain State Park, Colorado Springs, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

One of the nicest parks we have ever stayed at! The park is just below Cheyenne Mountain and many of the sites have a beautiful view of Colorado Springs and/or Fort Carson. We even heard taps and reveille from the fort each day. The sites have a concrete pad as well as a tent pad and a gravel picnic area. All of the utilities are in great shape. Lots of trails within the park. Decent Verizon and ATT signals. They do charge a daily fee along with the camping fee but if you are going to be staying in Colorado State Parks enough to make it worthwhile, you can purchase an annual pass so you don't have to pay the daily fee. We camped at Cheyenne Mountain State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Alpen Rose RV Park, Durango, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

Great park in a great area! Very friendly hosts who show you directly to your site. Huge fenced in dog area. The only ding I would give is that they park rigs in alternate directions so you share your sitting area with your neighbor. We were there two weeks and so were our neighbors. Luckily, they were great neighbors (even went to a brewery with them one night) but it would be a little uncomfortable if your neighbors were not as nice. Good Verizon signal and ATT was strong (though not very fast). Park Wifi was inconsistent. We will definitely be back! We camped at Alpen Rose RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

South Fork Campground, South Fork, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

Management was very nice. Sites are pretty close together and even though we had a pull-thru, one of the turns to get to our site was pretty tight. There are some nice back-in sites next to the river, but they would definitely require some jockeying to get parked. Wifi never did work for us. We had a Verizon signal, which we boosted, and a strong but slow ATT signal. We camped at South Fork Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Roadrunner RV Resort, Red River, New Mexico

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for 6 nights. The office staff and camp hosts were very friendly and helpful. They will even deliver wood to your campsite. The river runs through the middle of the campground and there are many sites that back up to it, though most of those are 30amp sites. The sites themselves vary in size. Ours was very spacious but close to us were sites that were packed pretty tightly together. We didn't use the showers but my husband checked them out and each one was a complete, private bathroom. Nice off-leash dog park. WiFi was not usable but cable was good. We had 3 bars on ATT but it was so slow that it wasn't often usable, even with our booster. We had 3 bars on Verizon with booster. Would definitely stay here again. We camped at Roadrunner RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Great hiking in the area. The office had some info but the visitors' center in town had a great list with directions to each trailhead. Lost Love Saloon had live music when we visited and my husband and I shared some good prime rib.
