Arrowhead Lake Campground, Johnston City, Illinois

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $12.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed for 2 nights, multiple times, we always look forward to returning. It is a county park, run as a simple, basic RV campground. Arrowhead offers very spacious, comfortable sites, a few are waterfront, on gravel base. They are a diamond in the rough. It is touch tricky to access off 57, but it is a straight trip thru the small town of Johnston City, watch for the signs. Quaint, small office and TV room with wifi and very colorful and very friendly seasonal folk. Electric and water at the site and pump out is available at the exit. Fishing licenses for Illinois anglers is required if you fish and a two mile scenic walking path around the lake is popular. We camped at Arrowhead Lake Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Griff's Valley View RV Park & Campground, Altoona, Iowa

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Reservations are required, as owners office / management is off site and not overly friendly. The residents are mostly seasonal horse track and casino employees. Well keep units and full, level concrete pads. Wifi additional cost and not mentioned for a one night stay. Our receipt was placed on the windshield wiper after we settled in. Full service at site and friendly neighbors. Very nice club house with laundry, exercise, kitchen, tvs and a basement storm shelter. Sites have easy access for big rigs. Sites are pretty close. Traveling through spent only one night. We would stay again. We camped at Griff's Valley View RV Park & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Swan Creek, Tanner, Alabama

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

Nice club house with TV and pool table. All night access and full kitchen. Friendly and laid back service, drop box payment after hours. Pull thru sites with small concrete pad. Sites were well spaces but a bit odd layout. Right off busy road but the noise was not disruptive. Good for a peaceful nights rest. Very easy to get to off Route 65. We camped at Swan Creek in a Travel Trailer.

Hanson Hills Campground , Kingdom City, Missouri

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Older scenic RV park. New owners constantly updating the grounds. Mile and half from Route 70 on gravel road, best to arrive during daylight. Several pull thru gravel base sites with full hook up. Two nicely stocking fishing ponds. Close to Route 70 but very quiet. We did laundry while playing a game of pool in the somewhat rustic clubhouse. Stayed two nights, we will return. We camped at Hanson Hills Campground in a Travel Trailer.
