Sully's RV Park, Alturas, California

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

A nice place to camp. There are some long-term renters but they were quiet and friendly. The management is very friendly. Campground is clean and has some trees and patches of grass. The main Hwy is far enough away that traffic noise is not an issue. A nice park is across the deadend road. We camped at Sully's RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

The Modoc National Wildlife Refuge is a short hike away. We saw sandhill cranes, snow geese, and eagles. Town is small and within walking distance.

Fallon Churchill Fairgrounds, Fallon, Nevada

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

Unfortunately the campground is flood irrigated on Wednesday mornings. We arrived late afternoon and had a hard time finding a site that didn't have a lot of standing water or mud. This Park has Hwy 95 on one side and a busy rural road on another. There was a lot of traffic noise. That said, it is a cheap place to stay. We camped at Fallon Churchill Fairgrounds in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Next to the fairgrounds is a huge outdoor sports complex. We watched high school lacrosse practice and 2 baseball practices. Plenty of space to take a walk.

Beatty RV Park, Beatty, Nevada

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

The only reason this Park is not a 10 is because it is along hwy 95. Traffic drops off during late night hours. Staff is very friendly and checked on us a couple times due to high winds. Laundry room is clean and open 24/7. This Park is convenient to explore Death Valley and a near by ghost town. It is typical desert, dry, high elevation country. We camped at Beatty RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Ajo Heights RV Park, Ajo, Arizona

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $58.00
Overall Rating:

We felt we scored big by finding this small jewel of a RV park.

The grounds are native plant landscaped throughout and it has a native plant garden. The owners were extremely friendly and gave tourist suggestions. Sites were well laid out and easy to access. Would love to stay in it again. We camped at Ajo Heights RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Ancient Cedars at Mesa Verde RV Resort, Mancos, Colorado

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This Owners of this park go out of their way to make sure your stay is pleasant. They shared local history and gave maps and suggestions for interesting sites to visit. We had truck problems and they willingly held our spot in case we needed to stay another night.

The grounds are well maintained and the layout is easy to get around. Big open areas of green grass are nice. Plans are for a walking trail through the massive green area. Although there is some highway noise it is minimal since the camp sites are behind a half acre dog run, pool, put par, hot tub, and office areas.

The park is just across from the entrance to Mesa Verde NP. Very handy for Park access.

We loved our stay here and highly recommend this park. The only reason I didn't give a 10 overall score was the light hwy noise. We camped at Ancient Cedars at Mesa Verde RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.
