Eagle Ridge Campground, Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed for 3 nights. We had a reservation. Gal in office was very friendly and had our paperwork sitting on the desk. She took us to our spot#54 but as we pulled in I noticed #53 had better shade, 90 degrees out, She let us move to shady spot no problem. Very quiet, plenty of lenght 85 plus feet, ample room for slides and awning. Gravel roads, sandy grass parking. Clean water and good power at pedestal. Not to much for kids, basic play area, nice volleyball courts, ball diamond out back. Wifi was not working. She said a new company was working on it. Woods on all 4 sides of camp ground gives an up north feel. We were woken up by blue jays and cardinals every morning. NICE! GPS took us right to the driveway. Off the beaten path but really only 10 min from interstate. We'll come back here again. Stayed in 37foot travel trailer. We camped at Eagle Ridge Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Grant River COE, Potosi, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

First time here, stayed 2 nights. Park is on the shores of Mississippi River, nice views. All paved roads, concrete parking sites, grass area between sites, mix of sun and shade spots. Sites are well laid out and easy to maneuver large rigs in and out. We are 62 feet long and backed in no problem. 50 AMP elec with random water spigots. This place would be a 10, BUT,,, the trains come thru very often and sound the horn for the road entering park. The trains are less frequent at night. Boat ramp on site. We stayed in site 28. Probably the nicest view and furthest from tracks. Park attendant on site during daytime, very friendly and helpful. We camped at Grant River COE in a Travel Trailer.

Lakeshore Park Campground, Saint Ignace, Michigan

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Pulled in for a one night stop over, as we pulled in the owner was visiting with some guests by the office. She held the door open and welcomed us in. Very friendly! Our site was level and plenty long. We had full hookups and all worked well. About 6-8 TV channels on antenna. Nice view of the Mackinaw bridge and ships passing by. Nice quiet place to sleep. No real activities for kids. There is a shelter house for guests to use. Very easy in/out with our long rig. Close to St. Ignace tourist area, you need bikes or drive, as it is to far to walk downtown. We will stay here again. We camped at Lakeshore Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Stoney Creek RV Resort, Osseo, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

I hate to say it,, but my opinion Stoney Creek RV seems to be slipping from my 5 star, 10.0 rating. We have been stopping in for years with a travel trailer or a truck camper/cargo trailer. Prices have gone up. Seems geared more toward kid/party/drinking weekend, with golf cart rentals, than the quiet up-woods feel. The campground is one of the best layouts I have seen. Spacious sites set up for all types of RV's. Still quiet evenings and nice sites. It seems to have new owners that have different ideas of what Stoney Creek RV should be. We'll think twice about our next stay here and maybe look at a different campground in the area. We camped at Stoney Creek RV Resort in a Truck Camper.

Sky High Camping Resort, Portage, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

After driving by their sign on hwy 33 for years, we decided to try Sky High Campground for a long weekend: Fri-Sun. The campground is rundown and seems like the owners are just riding it out. We had a reservation. I stopped at the office to sign in, the kid behind the counter struggled to get us signed in, didn't know the computer system, but did get us a map. I had to go back Sat A.M. to get signed in. We couldn't pull into our site because of a semi-truck (???) parked along the road facing the wrong way, and 6-8 pickup trucks around the site 2 spots down. 1 camper and 10-20 beer drinkers with music blasting (Fri 2 pm). I drove back to the office to request a different site, the kid said we could move down a few sites. He had no idea about the semi-truck. Went back to pick the best of the crappy pull thrus. We did end up with a nice family between us and the party site (thank god). We had fair electric power but very little water psi. We ran off our own water tank/pump. Our site was rough and weedy. We had a table, fire pit and a tree/bush. Sites are very tight with your neighbor. We went sightseeing during the day and spent evenings at our site. Campground had a softball game Sat with the outfield covering the access road, we had to wait for the game, to get to our site. The game and the evening stream of golf carts cruising in circles making a dust cloud are the activities. We won't be back! It could be a lot nicer with a total makeover and some ambitious owners. The countryside in the area is beautiful and would be a great place for a nicer campground. We camped at Sky High Camping Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Baraboo WI and WI Dells are very close by. The Baraboo hills and Wisconsin river are very picturesque any time of year. Wis Dells is a family tourist area with many water parks/attractions/casinos.

A must stop is the LOG CABIN Restaurant in Baraboo. Great menu (home cooking) and everyday is pie day!
