Northlake Village RV Park, Northlake, Texas

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

This is a large, older well managed park. Probably 90% permanent residents and 10% open for mobile RV use. Our site was on a large circle (back in), plenty of room, great patio (no table), really nice grass and tree which gave a little shade to the back of our RV. Swimming pool at front of park and not within walking distance. A large trash container on our site. No easy access and GPS will guide you down a ridiculous semi used road...use exit 70 off 114 and then Dale Earnhardt Way. If I ding this park it would be for the insane overuse of speed bumps! Truly the worst speed bumps in an RV park ever....ugh! We camped at Northlake Village RV Park in a Motorhome.

Whistle Stop RV Resort, Abilene, Texas

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Would rate this park higher, but the dings are related to interior roads. They have used cheap white dust gravel and their sure isn't enough of it then if it rains (and it did) it's a white muddy mess. The sites are large but the pad for RV is narrow..then an $80.00 fine I'd you run onto the grass (mostly weeds)! We will select another park for future visits, this still needs a lot of work. No shade. We camped at Whistle Stop RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Akers RV & Trailer Park, Clovis, New Mexico

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This is a really nice park, plenty of shade, grass on every site! Well maintained and so clean! We were lucky enough to get a corner site right beside the office and probably the best site in the park. But we would have taken any sites as they were all nice. Owners very accommodating with anything you need. This will be our go to park whenever we visit Clovis! We camped at Akers RV & Trailer Park in a Motorhome.

Pueblo South / Colorado City KOA, Pueblo, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park, great service but don't try and check in before 1:00 pm....we checked in at 12:00 noon and they charge $10.00 for early check in! I've never experienced that charge before....may call KOA and check this charge out! Roads are dirt, sites have a little grass and a few trees. Pool was pretty cold but clean, to chilly for us to use, no hot tub. Good WiFi, good utilities. Our 2nd visit here, would stay again. We camped at Pueblo South / Colorado City KOA in a Motorhome.

Casey's RV Resort, Elizabeth, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We selected this park as it was close to family we were visiting. We experienced a nice surprise as we arrived...roads were dirt but easy to navigate. We thought our site 15, which was a curved pull through, was the best site in this small park. It was nestled into beautiful ponderosa pine trees and our view was away from all the RVs and looked out over a baseball field and meadow. No WiFi but our phone service was fine. A dump station is available at the entrance to the park. We would stay here again for sure! We camped at Casey's RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Winding River RV Resort, Grand Lake, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

This park is a ranch setting with horseback riding, fishing, hayrides and great opportunity to view wildlife. Roads and sites are rough and all dirt, but easy to navigate. There was no sewer but had a dump station. They are in the process of adding sewer. Some sites in the back of the park had sewer. WiFi was weak and we could only connect intermittently at the laundry We camped at Winding River RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

This park is right at the entrance to the Rocky Mountain National Park and visitor center, 4 miles from Grand Lake town (a lovely community) and then the lakes.....were breathtaking! We would stay at this RV park again in a heartbeat! We had a moose walk right down the side of our RV!! So quite and peaceful you could hear a pin drop! Some sites in this park cater to folks with horses in that they provide gated corrals for their horses next to their RV sites! We loved watching the horses!

River Dance RV Resort, Gypsum, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This park is right off I70, 35 miles from Vail. No available RV parks in this area anywhere! So we were happy to snag it. That being said, it's pretty rough...electric had low voltage (but we had no trouble), water pressure was terrible and no sewer! It's a base to visit Vail but NO frills, no grass and you MUST cover yourself and RV because the ants would carry you away. Views in all directions were awesome! We camped at River Dance RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Portal RV Resort and Campground, Moab, Utah

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $72.00
Overall Rating:

Streets are wide and very accessible, we stayed on the resort side of the park. The other side had gravel sites where we had full concrete pads as well as the parking area. Covered patio which was a nice feature given the heat in Moab. If I ding this resort it was the pool, it was in real need of cleaning, not much shade at all and just not appealing to use. We camped at Portal RV Resort and Campground in a Motorhome.

Heise Hot Springs, Ririe, Idaho

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is actually serval camping areas in driving distance of each other and the office. Well kept, big trees and lots of grass. NO WiFi, no cable, and NO satellite due to the big trees......but we're camping right! Don't use GPS coming in from the north. It takes you down an awful gravel/dirt road and we wound up with a filthy coach and tow! We camped at Heise Hot Springs in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Base camp for south Yellowstone or Tetons. (75-60 miles respectively). There are closer RV parks to the Tetons. Pizza joint in RV Park was pretty good. Nice golf course. Take in the swimming pool and hot springs...both are separate from the RV park and charge admission. Zip lining (10) and young people were loving it...($65.00 for all 10).

Yellowstone's Edge RV Park, Livingston, Montana

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Sits right on the river, which is beautiful to watch but no access. Sites are short and pretty close, had to park transversely across the rear of our coach. No WiFi and satellite blocked by trees. Livingston is only 18 Miles, Yellowstone entrance/Gardiner was only 35 miles, so great base camp. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely return! No open fires allowed! They do have a community campfire each evening, but at the time we visited mosquitos were everywhere....so we didn't! Take spray! We camped at Yellowstone's Edge RV Park in a Motorhome.

Peter D's RV Park, Sheridan, Wyoming

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very pristine park, sites are all kept clean and neat. Nice grass at every spot. Park hosts are very friendly, share goodies from their garden and will help you in every way! We stayed here for four nights and explored the beauty of the area. If I ding the park at all the sights are a bit close together, but navigation is fine and plenty long enough. I would stay here again for sure! We camped at Peter D's RV Park in a Motorhome.

You must eat at "Pub and Grub", the Ruben was truly the best I've ever had, they make their chips, onion rings and queso dip from scratch! Careful... their portions are huge! Also ate at Ribs and Chop.....yummmmm, can't go wrong here! Many museums, battle grounds and lakes...we loved Little Big Horn!

Overall Rating:

Stayed with these folks for just one night after leaving Minot. Escorted to our site which is always appreciated! Tight interior roads but able to navigate with no trouble. Site was well shaded, satellite friendly, nice grass with level gravel. Perfect hooks ups with good water pressure. Park very clean and landscaped well. It is a really nice KOA. Ellsworth AFB FamCamp (Military FamCamp), Ellsworth AFB, South Dakota

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

Interior roads gravel but good ability to maneuver. Sites are all large level concrete pads with patios, table and grill. Decent grass (could certainly use more water). Front office staff very helpful and friendly. Nothing bad to say about this park except the WiFi is truly awful. If we required service we had to go to the BX and we could get excellent WiFi, which doesn't make sense to me. Would definitely stay again. Minot / Swenson RV KOA, Minot, North Dakota

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Staff were friendly and accommodating. Truly OK for an over night stop only. Our site was not near enough to office/showers/laundry, you would have to drive to use those facilities. View in every direction were of stored boats and Rv's. Interior roads black top, but sites were of rough gravel with not one blade of grass anywhere nor landscaping of any kind. If you like weeds this is your place. No usable WiFi. Hookups were excellent, good water pressure. Not deserving of a KOA status! We camped at Minot / Swenson RV KOA in a Motorhome.
