Creekwood Farm RV Park, Waynesville, North Carolina

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $87.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice campground located on Jonathan Creek, and many sites are located right on the creek. We stayed in site 73 which was really nice and level and had lots of shade. The creek was just a few feet behind our camper. Very convenient to I-40 which is less than a mile away. Maggie Valley and Waynesville are a short drive from the campground. Cataloochee Valley is a short drive and is beautiful, but it's a narrow winding mountain road that turns into a dirt road for the last few miles. Very clean bath house with private showers and toilets but no a/c, however it was never really warm even in mid August. Friendly and helpful staff who will even guide you to your campsite and help you back in. We camped at Creekwood Farm RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Enota Mountain Retreat, Hiawassee, Georgia

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Campground is located in a wooded area not far from Helen, Ga which is a nice little touristy German themed town. Sites are really close and can be a little tight for anything over 28 feet and leaves very little room for your vehicle. As some other reviews stated, there are some upcharges, such as $5 fee per dog, and you're not allowed to bring your own firewood so you have to buy theirs. Overall however I'd say it's a nice campground in a very scenic mountain location. The bathrooms and showers are very nice, and are always clean. No cell service whatsoever, and the wifi is limited to the office/store area but was very dependable when we needed it. We will definitely stay here again. We camped at Enota Mountain Retreat in a Travel Trailer.

Foster Creek RV Park & Villas (Military FamCamp), Goose Creek, South Carolina

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

We have only been to a few military campgrounds but this one is the best we have seen by far. All sites are full hook-up, spacious and easy to get in and out of. Concrete strips to put your wheels on, and a large concrete patio with an aluminum picnic table. Really small bath house with individual rooms with a toilet and shower, but they were never crowded and always clean. Quite a few long term campers use this place. All that we met were very friendly. Very friendly campground host who is always very helpful with any issues or questions. No fire rings other than a community one in the center, so bring your own if you want a fire. We camped at Foster Creek RV Park & Villas (Military FamCamp) in a Travel Trailer.

Chester State Park, Chester, South Carolina

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $13.00
Overall Rating:

Small campground of only about 25 sites but nice quiet campground. Located on a 100 acre lake but only a few of the sites are actually near the lake. Several nice picnic shelters and a few hiking trails. Otherwise not much to do but a nice campground to spend a relaxing weekend, especially being only a 30 minute drive from our house. Small bath house with 2 showers that was very clean. We camped at Chester State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Andrew Jackson State Park, Lancaster, South Carolina

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

Small campground in a nice location just north of Lancaster, SC. Narrow roads lined with trees once you get into the camping area so its a little tight getting in your spot. We had a site that had a nice view of the lake. It was fall and the leaves were turning color so it was a beautiful view. Small centrally located bath house with a couple of showers. Only complaint about staying in the state parks is there is no sewer hookup, however there is a dump station on the way out. Overall a nice place. We camped at Andrew Jackson State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Moonshine Creek Campground, Balsam, North Carolina

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice campground in a great wooded area not far off the main highway. Beautiful quiet location where most of the noise is the sound of the creek that flows through the middle of the campground. Many of the sites are located right on this creek. A bit tight getting to some of the sites, but the staff escorted us to our site and helped us park and also helped us to get out when leaving. Bath house has recently been renovated and is one of the nicest we have seen and are kept very clean. Very friendly staff. Small store that has basic needs, but only a few miles to Waynesville which has several grocery stores. We enjoyed staying here so much we reserved our same site for later in the summer. We camped at Moonshine Creek Campground in a Travel Trailer.
