Rock Hound State Park, Deming, New Mexico

Date of Stay: February, 2018 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

Great staff, hiking, birding & rockhounding, clean facilities & visitor center displays! Left early, though, due to occupants of campsites nearby operating loud power tools all afternoon working on RV bodywork projects! Really? I prefer to listen to birdsong! We camped at Rock Hound State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Nearby boat launch for fishing, paddling, boating. Bicycle & walking trail nearby. Bicycle a few miles to lovely cafe for Lake Almanor view breakfast! Quiet, not too close to Highway 89. Town of Chester has groceries, gas, propane, bike shop, events & activities. I'll definitely return to spend a week here! Only about 2.5 hour drive to Reno.

JGW RV Park, Redding, California

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

Riverview pull-through site for my travel trailer was wonderful! Sunset viewed from lawn chair on grassy riverbank watching the river meander by. Saw great blue heron, osprey, bald eagle, kingfisher, ducks, and river otters! Staff is friendly. Bathrooms & showers spotless. Fenced dog run. Landscaping & grounds are beautiful, with big oaks near the Sacramento River. Was so relaxing here after a day of driving Interstate 5. I'll return again & again during my travels! Thank you. We camped at JGW RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
