Rip Van Winkle Campground, Saugerties, New York

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $53.00
Overall Rating:

This campground lives up to its Good Sam 10/10/10 rating. Our site 75 was spacious, gravel surfaced and level. The tiny but clean bathroom facilities (w/o showers) are numerous and installed conveniently throughout the park. They owners seem to have thought of everything from offering golf cart rentals, to selling delicious soft serve ice cream in the office. We camped at Rip Van Winkle Campground in a Motorhome.

Rayford Crossing RV Resort, Spring, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $53.00
Overall Rating:

One of the nicest parks we've ever stayed in. The higher fee is worth it given the landscaping, amenities and neatness of the entire property. Paved roads w/ level concrete pads. Friendly reception. We camped at Rayford Crossing RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Pioneer Acadian Village Campground and RV Park, Breaux Bridge, Louisiana

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Excellent overnight stopover with a secured entry gate. The only drawback was highway noise from nearby I-10 which you don't hear with a/c on. Gravel road and level gravel sites. Cable TV and wireless are provided free of charge although we didn't use either. We requested and were changed to an open site for our satellite TV antenna. Pat at reception couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating. We camped at Pioneer Acadian Village Campground and RV Park in a Motorhome.

Kellogg RV Park, Kellogg, Iowa

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Convenient stopover, immediately adjacent to I-80 exit at Kellogg. Graveled roads and level graveled sites separated by narrow grassed strips each with a picnic table. Campground was tidy but bathrooms badly needed cleaning. There are shaded sites but we asked for site 25, open and good for satellite reception. Verizon signal was excellent. We were happy we had the white sound of our A/C to muffle highway noise. We would stay here again for an overnight. We camped at Kellogg RV Park in a Motorhome.

Augusta West Kampground, Winthrop, Maine

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

This was a convenient one night stopover from New Brunswick Canada to VT. It has a lovely lakeside setting with many seasonals and families with kids. As mentioned by others, the access road to the park is 3/4 mile of unpaved and bumpy travel but once inside the park the roads were fine.

Our unshaded site was part of an interior circular grassy area. None of the shady perimeter sites along the lakefront were available. We had a comfortable distance from our neighbor for our slide-out and the grassy site was level. We had 30 amp service but did not use their water or WiFi. There was a dump station near the exit but none at the site.

There were several families with kids, both in tents and in RVs. It seemed very family oriented.

Management does have lots of rules and signs. At registration we were handed a plastic bag for trash and a list of 28 rules. Signage in the (only?) bathroom was "no washing dishes or pans in sinks" and "washrooms closed between 8a and 9:30a". Perhaps the park's emphasis on kids was the reason for having so many rules. We camped at Augusta West Kampground in a Motorhome.

Country Acres Campground, Gordonville, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

A nicely laid-out park with beautifully maintained lawns. The restrooms were spotless and the amenities plentiful. Several sites abutted directly onto an Amish field and we had the good fortune to arrive just as the farmer was raking his hay behind two beautiful horses. Really memorable and we would definitely return. We camped at Country Acres Campground in a Motorhome.

Woodlawn Campground, Delmar, Maryland

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Simple and rustic with a lovely owner who lives yards away. Very convenient to US 13. Restrooms were clean but basic. Our drive-through site close to the lightly-traveled road was perfect for our 1 night stopover. Level gravel pad with no shade and next to the bathhouse, our preference because of excellent satellite coverage. Sites toward the back of the property were well shaded. Large lawn directly across the street has lots of space for dogs to run. We camped at Woodlawn Campground in a Motorhome.
