Bas Saint-Laurent KOA Resort, St.-Mathieu-de-Rioux, Quebec

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

Price is in Canadian dollars. Located about 10 miles Southeast of CA 132 at St Simon. Don't follow your GPS follow the directions on the KOA website. After turning off 132 there are a couple of very steep hills to contend with. Campground facilities (office, pool, laundry & playground) are located at the bottom of a hill, while most of the campsites are at the top, steep but not too difficult. Campground looks new, small trees, sparse grass, new electric boxes with 50/30/20 service. Water pressure is good. 2 sewer connections on every pull trough campsite. About 25% seasonal campers. Cable with 25 channels (20 are French). WiFI crashes frequently, we paid $3.25/day for faster WiFi but it crashes frequently also. We camped at Bas Saint-Laurent KOA Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Glen Rouge Campground, Toronto, Ontario

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

Canadian rate is $41 with a 1.3:1 exchange rate. Difficult to find using GPS kept trying to take us to the park not the campground. Campground is located in a ravine that's the reason for no sewer on sites. Bathroom and shower located 10 meters up the hill. 50/30/20 amp electric and water. Limited number of 50 amp sites. Fire pit was a hole in the ground. Picnic table was in bad condition. No cable, 15 OTA TV channels. Verizon (Bell) service marginal 4G. Campground is a grassy field with unspecified camp locations just a post indicating campsite number. Wife says the women's showers were nasty, men's were okay. Pump station is located on the circle next to the registration office, awkward. Ice and firewood available. We camped at Glen Rouge Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Lands End Park, Tobermory, Ontario

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

2018 Rate is $57 CAD, current exchange is 1.3:1. Campground required 3 night minimum stay in July. VERY difficult to maneuver 5th wheel around overhangs, trees and obstacles. Very narrow roads leading in and around the campground due to the trees and bushes. Difficult to back into campsite due to the above listed obstacles. 30 and 2o Amp electric and water service only. Dump station located at the back of the campground - not easy to find without a map. No cable, 4 OTA TV channels. Showers cost $0.50 and the shower water pressure is poor. Don't bring a large RV in here. We camped at Lands End Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Six Mile Lake Provincial Park, Port Severn, Ontario

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Camping rate is $57 CAD with current exchange of 1.3 USD : 1 CAD. Campground convenient to CA Hwy 69. Electric (30 & 20 Amp) only. No water or sewer, with a dump station as you leave the park. Active bear in the park this visit. Boat rental (canoe, kayak, SUP and paddle boat) but expensive $25/2 hours for a canoe and SUP. Two beaches, playground, and hiking trails. No cable, with 3 OTA TV channels. CG is not suitable for large RVs. Previous post mentions a parasite in the water, allow me to clarify. Taken from the Six Mile Lake 2018 Information Guide Newspaper "Swimmers Itch is a temporary skin irritation that may be acquired by bathers in some lakes and rivers including Six Mile Lake. Small, distinctive, itchy red spots may appear on the skin soon after swimming and are caused by a tiny parasite in the water. Since humans are not the proper host of this parasite, it dies quickly and causes no serious harm." Prevention section mentions thoroughly drying off after swimming. If a rash develops, apply rubbing alcohol to the spots. We camped at Six Mile Lake Provincial Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Mine Mill Local 598/Unifor Campground, Sudbury, Ontario

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Price is $40 CAD - current exchange rate is 1.3 USD to 1 CAD. Approximately 85% seasonal campers. Most of them are in good condition. Transient sites are spaced apart, in an open area. No cable, 2 OTA TV channels. Verizon cell service is marginal, WiFi signal is strong but it drops out frequently. Full hook-up, no caps for the sewer lines, and 30 Amp electric only. An acceptable place to recharge, restock and rest up before heading out again. Big rig friendly. Sudbury is a big town, with lots of traffic. We camped at Mine Mill Local 598/Unifor Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Glenview Cottages & Campground, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

$35 price is USD, current exchange rate is 1.3 ($45 CAD). An older RV park with 30 RV sites and 10 or so cabins plus a honeymoon cabin. Located 75 meters from busy CA Hwy 17, traffic noise is noticeable 24/7, but not unbearable with door and windows closed. Full hook-up with 20 & 30 Amp service only. No cable, and 6 OTA TV channels. Clean laundry, hot tub (empty), pool and sauna. Lawn maintenance is lacking, garbage in the fire pit. Verizon cell service is weak. Good WiFi signal. Utilities are located near the middle of the campsite. We camped at Glenview Cottages & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

On the North shore of Lake Superior. Stayed here in late June, bring your bug spray the mosquitoes and black flies are aggressive 24/7. No dogs on the beach in Section 1. Electric (20 and 30 Amp) service only. Potable water and dump station at entrance to campground. Marginal Verizon service, no Wifi, no OTA TV channels. Easy access for bigger RVs. The train track crossing is rough. Electric connection is at the real of the site, bring extra cable. We camped at Neys Provincial Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Pine Point resort, Ignace, Ontario

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Campsite price is ($35 CAD) plus GST ($7) & PST ($11) tax and the current exchange rate is $1.3 USD. Its a long 28 km gravel road from Hwy 17 to the resort, but the resort is located on a long peninsula that extends far out into Lac des Milles Lacs (Lake of a Thousand Lakes). There are a LOT of seasonal campers and some houses on the resort. No Verizon cell service and the Wifi signal is weak. Full hook ups, 20 & 30 Amp only, sewer is located at the back of the site, bring extra hose. Campsites are close together, but it didn't feel cramped. Boat rental, fish cleaning house, bait and gas available, and a small convenience store. The power went out for 18 hours due to a truck hitting a pole. They had a generator but it could not supply all the campers with sufficient voltage (94 VAC on 20 Amp service). A generator might come in handy. Water is treated with UV light. We camped at Pine Point resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Located on an Indian Reservation about 6 miles from the Canadian border. The campground is down the road from the casino. It is on a hill above the marina overlooking Lake Superior. Request a site that overlooks the lake. No cable, about 6 OTA TV channels. Verizon cell service is marginal. Playground is basic. Marina is a stop for the charter boat to Isle Royale NP. Lakehead Boat Basin, Duluth, Minnesota

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

A RV park in a parking lot inside the boat basin marina. Doesn't sound that great but what is great is the location just across the bridge from downtown Duluth. No cable, 10 OTA TV channels. Good Verizon cell service. Portable showers and baths in a trailer (not porta potties). Full service hook-ups located at the back of the RV site, bring extra hose and sewer hose. Walking distance to restaurants. Easy access. A lot of big Class A's in the park. We camped at Lakehead Boat Basin in a Fifth Wheel.

Located in downtown Marquette near Northern Michigan University. It's a city run campground inside a city park. Lots of trees, maneuvering into sites can be challenging. Wi-fi and good Verizon cell service. Playground and beach on-site. Park closes at 11:00 PM. Some full hook-up sites, others with limited service. No cable, about 7 OTA TV channels. Picnic table was in need of repair. Not well maintained landscaping. We camped at Marquette Tourist Park in a Fifth Wheel.
