Love to use my telescope when camping. Do not understand why people go camping and turn on all these stupid outside lights. Why bother camping. Just go stay in a city hotel. Don't ruin the night skies for the rest of us with stupid lights. Go to the city and enjoy all the lights you want.

Flaming Arrow campground is a really nice run quite place to stay. The staff is very helpful and accommodating to their guest. Looks as if they can take on larger rigs , but call to make sure. The owner is very nice and takes care of things. I think she has been given a bad rap from people breaking rules and doing things they know they are not supposed to be doing. She was very nice to not only us ,but others as well. This is not a place for anyone looking to party and be loud .Look else where if that is your camping need. While it is an older campground for sure. It has been well kept . The power and water are almost new and the sewer hook ups are kept clean. They have cable TV , and WiFi, just do not look to use the WiFi for streaming services. It works fine for all other uses. Our AT&T service worked great and we were way in the back of the campground. So like any campground it depends on what or who's cell service is in that area. There are a lot of long term stays here ,but they do not affect things in and around the campground. They just seem to fit right in. We enjoyed our stay at Flaming Arrow and will return again. It is a hidden little gem of a campground . We camped at Flaming Arrow Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here over the Labor Day weekend . What a nice campground and the view is great from the top also. We had deluxe site . Couldn't get the premium ones. They stay booked and are hard to get. For reason to be understood if you stay here. They entire staff is very nice. They do take pride in their small park . The internet was OK . Can't say what the cable was like. We didn't use it. Out Tailgate dish did pick up one SAT so we got a few channels plus off air had a few too. Our site was old , but level, clean with a good amount of shade with a ton of space between us and neighbors. The water was fine and power too. We camped at Campfire Lodgings in a Travel Trailer.
Look at the turn around circle before you use it. I saw a few 5th wheeler s misjudge this and had a hard time. I also saw some really big 5th wheeler s have no issue because they looked and took their time and they never had to back up at all.

First get the name right. It is not Fries like something you would eat. It is pronounced as Freeze. You will quickly be corrected if you make the mistake. LOL On a 1 to 10 scale I give this one a 9. Only because I don't think it is large enough and more people should be allowed to enjoy this one. An extremely well kept campground for sure. The owners take extra great care of their campers and park. Only 16 sites , but each and every one has a ton of room and all the hook ups are clean and taken care of. Not sure if there is a rig too big that these sites can't handle. Somebody thought this RV park out really well. His bath house and rest rooms are spotless. Walk straight out of the RV parks road and you will walk right up to a nice over look view of the river. Just follow the road down to the river grounds. A well maintained local park on the river awaits you. It is also the start of the flat no hill NEW RIVER TRAIL. Bike riders will love this place. We were here for the 4th of July week. If you want a place to sit back and relax this is a great campground to do so at. If you stay here you will like it.
Call ahead for a site. It is a small park and fills up fast. We camped at Fries New River Trail RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
If you want a campground with lots to do around the area it has that also. Did I mention fireworks ? You actually get 2 shows in one night. The local fire Hall has one then the town after that. WOW what a fireworks show for such a tiny town. It was down at the river and can rival any larger city's fire works show. You can not help but get a good view of this show.I will be posting a YOUTUBE video of the show later. Lots to do around this area. The Parkway is not far away and the local music at the town hall theater is nice too. There is of course the fiddlers convention held around here in the early fall also. Largest one in the world I might add.

We stayed for 5 nights as part of Memorial Day weekend. Great campground for families with kids. Good campground for anyone really. Lots to do at the campground with live music on weekends. Tons to do in the surrounding area. We will stay here again, we really like the Cherokee NC area. The only con I have about the campground is the internet ( or lack of ) , there is none. T they should really stop saying they have it. There are places around that do have it, if you need it bad enough. I found my Myfi wifi Verizon did not do well at all either. The Verizon phone service does work though. All in all a really good place to stay. We camped at Happy Holiday RV Village (formerly Happy Holiday RV Park) in a Travel Trailer.

Our group stays here each year and we have a great time. The owner takes very good care of all his guest. There are many things to see and do in this area. It is right off the Blue Ridge park Way too. The name says it all. Odds are good you won't need your A C even in summer much.
The settings around this campground are wonderful. The back lots have a wonderful view. They take care of this campground and it really shows. His wifi is the best one can find anywhere now days. Super fast and easy to get a signal from. I do not hesitate to say he has the fastest and best internet of any campground you will ever stay at. We stream live broadcast out to the world from this campground all the time with no issues. Hard to find another place you can do that from. Still kind of iffy on that cell phone service. You are back in the woods a bit so what would one expect right ?
All in all, it really is one of the best kept campgrounds you will find and the owner takes care of his guest. After that the rest just falls in place for you. Going on 5 years we have visited. We love it and you will too. We camped at Cool Breeze Campground in a Travel Trailer.
Bring things for the kids to do on site at the campground. There is no play ground . There are cows and donkeys and such in a field that joins the campground. If they like doing things like flying drones and kites and such there is plenty of room in the back for that and more.
