Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Mammoth Cave, Cave City, Kentucky

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

This was a fun park to tour the area. We traveled with another non camping family. They were able to rent a cabin next to our site and we spent our time split between the campground and other area attractions. At night the kids loved going to the bounce pillow and playground. We also spent a few days at new beach area. The kids LOVED the beach area. The campground is pretty crowed and sites are tight but it was quiet at night. There are a lot of hills which made bike riding around the park a little challenging for us flat lander Floridians but everything was easily accessible by car if you wanted to drive. Bathrooms were clean but a bit outdated. Surrounding area was wonderful. We did the cave tour, multiple hikes, horseback riding, Nashville and bourbon trail. We camped at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Mammoth Cave in a Fifth Wheel.

Old Mill Camp at Cummins Falls, Cookeville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Overall this was a good park to visit the area. We were visiting friends so didn't spend too much time at the park. Very few amenities but right next door to Cummins Falls, so not many needed. It was packed over the fourth of July holiday but cleared out after that. Restrooms were clean and everything looked fairly new. Kids enjoyed the playground which had swing and other equipment. It had rained while we were there and there was a lot of standing water and spots were a little tight for our fifth wheel. The attached store was nice with a little snack bar. We would visit again. We camped at Old Mill Camp at Cummins Falls in a Fifth Wheel.

Mountain Stream RV Park, Marion, North Carolina

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Prettiest park we have ever visited! The grounds were immaculate the whole time we were there. They had just opened for the season so there were a few campers when we got there but we had the park to ourselves the rest of the week but I'm sure its packed during the summer. Owners were very welcoming and we enjoyed the BBQ on Saturday night. We had a huge site on the creek (#20). Bathrooms were a little small but clean. Not a lot of amenities in the park but it's not needed. My kids loved exploring the creek and playing in the water even in the cold weather. The areas is beautiful and we enjoyed hiking and exploring some of the towns in the area. Can't wait to go back. No cell service but WiFi worked well. I recommend downloading area maps for exploring before you get there. We camped at Mountain Stream RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Lots to do in the area. We used All Trails app to find several waterfalls including Linville Falls. Owner recommended Bruce's for lunch and it was great!

Colt Creek State Park, Lakeland, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Brand new state park. Big level sites but very limited shade. We camped during March so weather was cool but would expect it to be hot during the summer with so few trees. Roads are all dirt so lots of dust. Sites are gravel. Very clean bath house. Campground is quite a drive from the entrance. Looking forward to this becoming a nice weekend getaway. Stayed in site #30 and it was big enough for our 40ft fifth wheel. We camped at Colt Creek State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Santos Trailhead & Campground, Ocala, Florida

Date of Stay: January, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

One of our favorite weekend spots. Lots of mountain bikers in the park which my husband loves. Fun pump track and skills course for the kids and great mix of trails for beginners to expert. Small campground with only about 25 spots. We were in site 5 and it was good sized. Some were a little narrow. Nice space between sites. Updated bathrooms and nice pavilions in the middle of the spots. Close to town. We camped at Santos Trailhead & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Fall Creek Falls State Park, Spencer, Tennessee

Date of Stay: January, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice state park. Bathhouse was very clean but park was very empty. We camped in the winter so only a couple campers in the park. Most facilities were close (camp office, nature center, etc) Site was level and fairly large. Some of the park has very tight roads and would be difficult to get a bigger rig through. We were in Loop D and it was okay. Park has great hiking and the waterfalls are beautiful. Sites were a little short for us but it was workable. FCF is in the middle of nowhere so be prepared to drive for any supplies. We would definitely return. We camped at Fall Creek Falls State Park in a Travel Trailer.
