This is an update regarding this campground. The campground has been sold. The new owners are now selling the lots. Yes, you can still camp here but if you happen to have a reservation and your site gets sold they will just move you someplace else. My problem with this is not all the sites are the same. If I reserve on the lake, I want to stay on the lake. The lake sites are selling for $57,900. This park used to be a private park. It did not work. Not sure if this is going to work for the new owners either. You can also buy a lot and buy a cabin to put on the lot. I do wish the new owners the best of luck. I hope that their service stays the same as in the past. We have not had the opportunity to stay here since the new owners took over. I will make another update as soon as we do stay with them.

This is our 2nd time at Ripplin Waters. We truly enjoy this campground. Mostly because you do not have to deal with the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg traffic just to get to your campground. We used to stay in Pigeon Forge but have decided we prefer Ripplin Waters. We have learned some backroads to get into town when we want and it is must easier to drive without a trailer when picking some of the less traveled roads. The only thing that I would say is bad is the left turn when you are leaving and needing to go back to I-40. You have to go right and make a U-Turn. But my husband says that is not a problem for him, after all he is driving. Park is clean and even though there are some children, it is still quiet.

We actually camped here in May 2006. We chose this spot because it was one of the closest to Washington, DC. We stayed here for 1 week and drove into Springfield to catch the subway service. It is a bit of a commute but not really a lot of other campgrounds closer. We stayed near the back of the park. We did have an issue with our water but it was fixed within 1 hour. They have a staff member that is right on site all the time. Staff was friendly. We will stay here again if we come up this way.

We camp here several times per year. We only live about 30 minutes away and enjoy just getting away. We stay at this campground and still go to work daily. Sites have always been clean and maintained. We normally camp at site #4. It is close to the interstate for those of you that want to find someplace to camp as you are on your way to the beach or just someplace to get away for a while.

We stay at this several times per year. We live about 1 hour from the campground and find that the park is always well kept. The campground owners, are always helpful. This last visit we did not make advance reservations and it was their annual Halloween weekend. So we had to take a regular campsite. We prefer to stay on the lake and yes it is a lake, not a pond, as other reviewers stated. We have already made our reservations for the 2007 Halloween weekend and we will be on the lake. The sites on the lake are nicely spaced. We have been camping here for 3 years. We started in a pop up camper where we had to use the campground bathrooms. Always clean and always hot water. We have camped at this campground during busy times and slow times. They are off the beaten path but worth the drive.

We have camped here 2 times. First time was for a few days, second time was 8 days. Campground is tight but well kept. First visit was in October 2005 and the campground was not completely full. Second visit was July and you need reservations or you will not be staying here. Also, we suggest coming in before the crowd because maneuvering with your rig can be tricky and if you check-in late you might have to ask people to move their vehicles in order for you to park. Also, if you go during peak season expect the pool to be crowded. But we enjoy sight seeing so this is not a problem for us. The only problem we had, and we suspect it was because the campground was full, cable and internet did not stay connected. But it was nothing that would keep us from coming back. Restrooms and laundry facilities are very clean. We will be back next time we are in Pigeon Forge.

Like other reviewers, we can't say anything bad about this park. We did want to stay an additional day, but our site was already reserved. So we knew we would have to leave. To our surprise the people that were checking in after us came to our site several hours before checkout and asked when we would be leaving as they were ready to check-in. Well, we will not be rushed to leave, so this only made us stay until the last possible minute. There is nothing that the staff could have done. They had told the people that the site was not ready but they still felt the need to come and see for themselves. To all rv'ers out there, if your site is not ready do not take it upon yourself to go and try to rush people out of the site. This is a great place to stay and we loved being able to take the scooter down the street to Seaside.
