Harrisonburg / Shenandoah Valley KOA, Broadway, Virginia

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Pricey for what you get. $50 for a gravel back-in that isn't nearly level. It took 3, 2x6s under the front wheels to get the front end up enough to keep things from rolling off counters. When making reservations for 7 nights they required the total cost of the stay as a deposit. 3 mile road to the campground is a narrow two lane road with lots of tight turns making it less than big rig friendly. TV is analog so unless you have an old TV or converter (or a dish) the picture is grainy. Internet is spotty to non-existent and the staff position on the matter is basically "it either works or it doesn't" There is Poison Ivy growing near our site. Love the Shenandoah area but my experience at this campground has spoiled what was to be a very special vacation. We camped at Harrisonburg / Shenandoah Valley KOA in a Motorhome.

Kings Creek RV Campground (Military FamCamp), Cheatham Annex Naval Station, Virginia

Date of Stay: March, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Great Campground but because of it's location best to make reservations in the summer months. In the past I had much trouble with the free Navy MWR WiFi but finally solved it with an exterior signal booster antenna. Not all sites have fire rings. TV is analog so the picture is grainy. However, you can get several sharp digital TV stations via antenna for local, national news and weather. All but a few sites are level. Remember this is a military installation so be prepared to be awakened by the National Anthem every morning at 8 am and colors at sunset. We camped at Kings Creek RV Campground (Military FamCamp) in a Motorhome.

Located in the heart of the Historical Triangle: Jamestown, Williamsburg, Yorktown Battlefield. Busch Gardens is nearby. Plenty to do and see.
