Uncompahgre River RV Park (55+ park), Olathe, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Nice, NICE park! We stayed here 11 days and enjoyed it very much. The owners gave us their best spot (in our opinion!). Lots of large shade trees which sure were appreciated in this heat. Electrical ampage was steady at 120. Water pressure just right. Green, green grass and nice flowers and landscaping. Perfectly level site. Very nice laundry room and showers. Nice and quiet too! Its a mile off Highway 50. Located between Montrose and Delta and either of these towns has whatever you may need. We will certainly stay here again. We camped at Uncompahgre River RV Park (55+ park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Dolores River Campground, Dolores, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here for 11 days in late June/early July. Nice campground in a good location for sightseeing the area. Good WiFi except on weekends. We had a lot of shade and that was appreciated due to the heat! Owners and work campers are very pleasant. Weekly ice cream social and Wednesday Pizza Nights were terrific. Laundry facilities were great, $1.50 for washer/dryer that held 2 loads. The campground sponsored a 4th of July potluck and they supplied grilled burgers and hot dogs. Everyone enjoyed the potluck! The negative for us was the road noise. It starts early and lasts late. Other than the road noise, we enjoyed the park. We camped at Dolores River Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Angel Fire RV Resort, Angel Fire, New Mexico

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $70.00
Overall Rating:

Simply beautiful RV Resort! And it truly is a resort! Stunning 360 degree views! Beautiful clubhouse. Use of the nearby country club. Paved roads and very spacious pull-throughs. Completely paved site with nice landscaping and upscale picnic tables. 6 pickleball courts, and they have equipment to loan. Grassy fenced dog area. Organized activities nightly. We attended an ice cream social on Sunday evening and later in the week a wine and cheese happy hour. Huge hot tub. Two huge community gas fire pits with big, comfy outdoor furniture surrounding it. This is the nicest RV park we've ever stayed in, and will definitely stay here again. The only negative is the wind, which you have to expect when at this altitude. We camped at Angel Fire RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Little Creek RV Village, Alto, New Mexico

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here 10 nights. This is a very well maintained park. Staff are friendly, checking in was a breeze. Far enough from town to be peaceful yet close enough to visit. Some road noise during the day if you pay attention, but quiet at night when it matters. Mostly seasonal RV'ers from Texas. We stayed in site #5 and the rv wifi was excellent! 5 washers and 5 dryers that were inexpensive and worked very well. Many beautiful hikes within a 10-15 minute drive. We would definitely recommend this park and would stay here again if in the area. We camped at Little Creek RV Village in a Fifth Wheel.

Sarasota Sunny South RV & Mobile Home Resort (55+ park), Sarasota, Florida

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

We have traveled all over the east coast since May, and this is the nicest rv park we have stayed in. We just loved it! Location is in a residential area near the best beaches on Siesta Key. Lots of shopping and restaurants close by. Excellent wifi; as good as mine at home. Level, shelled sites with large paved patios and NO bugs! Large sparkling pool and tiki-hut patio. Very nice clubhouse. I'm sure there's lots of fun to be had in the high season. Spacious laundry. Nice bathrooms with beautifully tiled showers. My winter home is in Arizona, but if I was looking for a winter home in Florida, this would be it! We camped at Sarasota Sunny South RV & Mobile Home Resort (55+ park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Flint River RV Park (formerly Bainbridge/Flint River KOA), Bainbridge, Georgia

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

This nice park was our port in the storm of Matthew. We were traveling from NC to Sarasota Florida and realized that we needed to get far west. We started calling around for a safe place and found Flint River RV Park. Very nice owner. Sites are very spacious. There was some road noise during the day, but it was quiet at night. Sparkling pool was a nice treat. We enjoyed our stay at this park and appreciated all the nice folks of Bainbridge Georgia who welcomed us evacuees. We would definitely return if in this area again. We camped at Flint River RV Park (formerly Bainbridge/Flint River KOA) in a Fifth Wheel.

North Carolina State Fairgrounds, Raleigh, North Carolina

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

What a great find! Extra large back in spaces with full hookups. No wifi or cable, but we picked up many local TV channels with our antenna. Great Verizon signal so no wifi was ok. Park staff were friendly and professional. Security came by regularly. They were preparing for the state fair so the area was freshly landscaped and everything looked great. We will stay here again for sure. We camped at North Carolina State Fairgrounds in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice, clean park with big rig access. Large pull through with thick green grass was a nice change after being at the beaches. Very nice folks run this RV park. Ocean View Resort Campground, Ocean View, New Jersey

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Nice folks run this park. We stayed here for a week in late September and there were only a few folks here. It was quiet and peaceful. Lots of trees and some maneuvering difficulty for our large fifth wheel but we got in and out of the park without incident. WiFi didn't work at our site. Laundry room was large with many washers and dryers. We enjoyed our stay and would return if in the area again. We camped at Ocean View Resort Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Croton Point Park, Croton on Hudson, New York

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for 8 nights at 55 bucks a night...spendy for the lack of amenities at this county park. There is no cable tv and no wifi. I was mostly unable to get a Verizon signal. Park staff were not friendly or helpful. Electric is 30 amp only and we flipped the breaker if we used the microwave while using the AC. If you stay here, get familiar with the location of your sites breaker box (our neighbors showed us where it was). On the plus side, sites are very spacious and everyone staying here was friendly. We chose this park so we could visit the city. We walked to the Metro North train station (it is 1.7 miles) and visited NYC for 5 days. If we wanted to visit the city again, we would stay at this park. If not, we would not return. We camped at Croton Point Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Countryside RV Park, Griswold, Connecticut

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Oh my! What a beautiful RV park. After 6 weeks at the busy beaches of southern Maine, what a treat it was to stay at this wonderful park. Jim! What a great guy! This park is so meticulously maintained. It is so well laid out. No rows of campers here. It is laid out like a housing development in the woods. Huge spaces between our neighbors. Quiet, peaceful, and gorgeous. It was about a 20 minute trip to anywhere. We visited both casinos while here. We visited Mystic & Westerly. WiFi was excellent until the weekend folks arrived; iffy after that. We camped at Countryside RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Sea-Vu West Premier RV Resort, Wells, Maine

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $68.00
Overall Rating:

I absolutely love this park. The spaces are huge. And the park is so open; lots of sunshine. There are very tall oak trees and scattered blue spruce. Lots of grass and paved roads. Individual showers are large with good water pressure. Very large pool with plenty of chairs. Gated entrance. Trolley comes by every 20 minutes. I could stay here all season. Shore Hills Campground and RV Park, Boothbay, Maine

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

This was our 2nd visit to this terrific rv park. I just love this park and the Boothbay area. We stay in the open section of the park. Sites are spacious and open. Big rig friendly. The other sections are woody; like a state park. Those sites are also very spacious and the setting is beautiful, but just too dark for me. Staff is friendly & efficient. We hope to return in October. We camped at Shore Hills Campground and RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Wells Beach Resort Campground, Wells Beach, Maine

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $80.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very busy campground. Lots of in and out daily. Lots of vacationers, families, and kids. Location, location, location! Spendy! It is a one mile walk to Wells Beach. The Trolley stops at the front entrance. You can take the Trolley, with transfers, from Kennebunkport to Ogunquit and all areas in between. We took the Trolley to the beaches several times. WiFi worked well, but my Verizon signal was very weak throughout the area. Staff were efficient; I encountered nobody with an attitude. Most spaces are really close, unless you get a back-in along the right side of the campground. Maneuvers in a big rig can be a challenge. We were here for 17 nights and enjoyed our stay.
